when it says "cooking baby goats in it's mother's milk" it doesnt mean that literally. im means that you shouldnt eat milk with meat at the same time, and that has some logic in it, because its not healthy as people think it is. thats the point of kosher foods- all the non kosher foods get spoiled really fast, so people died.

Historically, lust was not identified with sexuality. We've used it as a word to replace lechery, probably because it has fewer syllables. Lust is the desire to possess. Which is why Christians are all Communists, clearly.
As for gluttony, it encompasses more than just overeating or greediness with food. It refers to consumption of any time: drugs, alcohol, etc. While severe obesity can be deadly, I think that addiction, mind-numbing and altering substances do much more damage to a person than what obesity might. I believe in that sense, gluttony is a deadly sin.
Unorthodox Christian here. I don't believe everything the Bible says, but one thing I do believe is something that you didn't mention. There is justified anger. It is mostly justifiable to be angry for injustices that are committed.
I haven't ever encountered a more misinformed talking head. Regardless of one's religious connotation, listening to these presupposed "counter-arguments" against virtue was intellectually insulting. As a proclaimed atheist, you could at least THINK about what you're saying before you open your mouth.

The other commandments were quite specific, this one isn't. You can take it too far, as in using a seperate dishwasher for meat and dairy products (yes, this is legit for some Jews), and the other way to not boiling a goat's baby in its milk.
I can see some of the "7 deadly sins" being self destructive on the lowest scale but it can affect others when blown out of proportion. Things like lustful people rapping women, greedy people exploiting others for self interest, an envious person killing a guy to take his car or being so filled with hate you become irrational and you do something you regret. I don't think there’s anything wrong with wanting “things” but if that’s all you want that seems like an empty life.
I think I've found out how you can determine what’s good and evil. If it fits under the category of constructive behavior, it's good. If it could be considered destructive behavior it's evil. I also think there's levels of good and evil, such as it would be worse to be destructive to somebody else than to your own self. Though the only problem there could be is if your destructive to yourself how do you respect others? I'd be willing to discuss this if someone has another view.
I think God in his wisdom realised that baby goats taste better if cooked slowly in white wine, garlic, and oregano rather than their own mothers milk. He was just giving his followers some culinary advice, that way they could use the milk to make delicious goat cheese.

As for gluttony, it encompasses more than just overeating or greediness with food. It refers to consumption of any time: drugs, alcohol, etc. While severe obesity can be deadly, I think that addiction, mind-numbing and altering substances do much more damage to a person than what obesity might. I believe in that sense, gluttony is a deadly sin.

Unorthodox Christian here. I don't believe everything the Bible says, but one thing I do believe is something that you didn't mention. There is justified anger. It is mostly justifiable to be angry for injustices that are committed.

@LORDcheesyPOOF Yeah, accept that millions of Jews took this to mean that you can't eat meat and dairy with the same utensils. It's symbolic, but of what exactly? The other commandments were quite specific, this one isn't. You can take it too far, as in using a seperate dishwasher for meat and dairy products (yes, this is legit for some Jews), and the other way to not boiling a goat's baby in its milk.

I can see some of the "7 deadly sins" being self destructive on the lowest scale but it can affect others when blown out of proportion. Things like lustful people rapping women, greedy people exploiting others for self interest, an envious person killing a guy to take his car or being so filled with hate you become irrational and you do something you regret. I don't think there’s anything wrong with wanting “things” but if that’s all you want that seems like an empty life.

I think I've found out how you can determine what’s good and evil. If it fits under the category of constructive behavior, it's good. If it could be considered destructive behavior it's evil. I also think there's levels of good and evil, such as it would be worse to be destructive to somebody else than to your own self. Though the only problem there could be is if your destructive to yourself how do you respect others? I'd be willing to discuss this if someone has another view.

I think God in his wisdom realised that baby goats taste better if cooked slowly in white wine, garlic, and oregano rather than their own mothers milk. He was just giving his followers some culinary advice, that way they could use the milk to make delicious goat cheese.

@Bigmattnumber34 What freedoms would go as well? I notice more and more people in my generation and the previous are becoming atheist. This is the shift in rational and logical thinking. If there comes a day when religion has next to no followers and ceases to exist, it will be a secular culture. No one would force you to not believe, most people just wouldn't because it makes the most logical sense. People who are theistic would be a minority and would be labled as idiots by everyone else.
