I've seen a lotta personal critique from all the durannies who have been posting here. I gotta say for one, I think Red Carpet Massacre wasn't THAT bad. Definitely wasn't a Duran sound at all, but songs like Nite Runner were catchy at least. Everything is a matter of opinion. And yes, I agree, hes better looking without makeup haha! Secret Oktober, Night Boat, and other B-sides are definitely underrated. I've heard all the songs from the new album off of iTunes. EXCELLENT! Back to the DD!!!!!!!!

Wow....Im really looking forward for that album. I hope It didn't looses the duran-sounding as RCM did....because okay I like Timbaland and Justin Timberlake-maybe but it's nothing good if they work together with DD..thats why im actually listening to older songs. :) Im playing on the synth too,in a band called 'Medazzaland Bizarre'.....I hope I will meet with Nick Rhodes one day because he is my icon.

I had a long discussion about new and old music, different artists and fashion with him yesterday. He's a good guy that can see the value of life. The first concert I went to was DD. I was 7 years old back then and I remember thinking that it was to good for me to talk about, so when Nick came up to me after the show was over and asked me if I liked it I simply sat there and said nothing. (hehehe... ^^) now he knows what I meant... XD

I have loved all their albums, even RCM. I liked it because it was different. Don't get me wrong--I love that Duran sound of their early albums. Every once in a while with a new song you can hear it & you know its "them". When they released the "Thank You" album at first I didn't like it but over the years I have come to love that album. I listen to it more than a lot of the others. I adore "Perfect Day"-its so much better than the original. Simon is marvolous on that one. But he ALWAYS is!

I myself (like most of us here) has been a fan of this band since the begining. They have brought out some great albums along the way, the best I think were between 86 - 93, but this group ALWAYS has too much time between albums and I think lose fans along the way because of it. RCM should have NEVER happened, I agree that they lost their own "Duran" sound on this album. John Taylor told us back in early 09 that a single would be out by Dec 09 with a album early 2010. Now it might be 2011. WHY??

@DaveRob9 They've been doing this since The Wedding Album from my recollection. That was a huge mistep anyway - doing Thank You after the resurrange of success. It's always 1 - 2 years after they initially say. I remember intial reports were end of 2009, then this summer, and now 2011. Sigh. Too many interim concerts, benefits, and DJing stints.

I actually really liked RCM, even though it was a but contrived.

I've been a fan ever since Is There Something I Should Know (yes, I'm THAT old). I also have a tattoo of the the symbol from 7atRT (the "N" with two vertical lines through it - Durannies know what I mean). I say this to show that I've been a serious fan. Having said all that, I (personally) think that the Timba/Timber album "Red Carpet Massacre" was a disaster. I PRAY that the next album will be "Duran" album (even if Andy T. isn't there). DD has a "sound" - and they lost it with RCM.

Not going to put too much stock into expecting another rio or 7rt or wedding but do hope they hit it again. We are all running out of time! lol

The album is done according to Mark Ronson, He played another snippet on his radio show called Blame the machine. They will be mixing it now.

Why do they keep teasing us so much? It has to be a damn good album. No doubt about that. Otherwise I don't see why it takes this long to bring this project to perfection.

On the other hand I think the guys will totally surprise us concerning the release date. The album will be out then when we in the least expect it.
