This video says that the eucharist is Jesus physically among us. I thought that according to Catholic teaching, Jesus is truly present in the eucharist, but not physically. I thought that the change that was affected by the words of consecration was a change in the level of substance, or ontological identity, but not a physical change.

@Jugglable The words of the Council of Trent are "really, truly and substantially" and "Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity". That is a physical presence, not merely a symbolic or other change. It is not something human senses can detect, but it is a physical change.

@crafter111 i perfectly agree.altought am i orthodox i have a great respect for the catholic church especially when compared to the protestants and neo-protestants.i mean beetween a 2000 year old organised church and a divided renegade mob which is obssesed with demonstraiting that you are wrong not that they are right and with founding periods in the interval (yesterday-450 years) i know who has more credibility.i think this is the worst danger of christianity's unity

Why would Christ have demanded more of people faith wise 2,000yrs ago - good question - my thoughts , they enjoyed His physical immediate presence - hence His beautiful statement, Blessed, are those who whilst not seeing, still BELIEVE. We have much to thank the Apostle Thomas for, he "represents" the human thinking of the ages - the need to see, to touch, to understand, Christ understands him, he understands us. We see aspects of ourselves in St. Thomas and we are treated with love by Christ.

Absolutely he was - there is massive historical evidence to say that he was. It is the firm agreement of all historians from the first century onwards.

I only visited for 2 times and already could notice that God is nearer.

Not, but any time a person has a relationship with Jesus, He wants it to be Eucharistic. All our relationships with Jesus are based on encountering Him in the flesh. The salvation of the world depends on Jesus being flesh.

While I am not a catholic, I must say that comazzi07 comments are very wrong. Mary whether she died or not, is very much alive see Matthew 22:32. In church history you do see that the church began to worship on Sunday. (The new Sabbath) Jesus has authority over all the scriptures. See Matt. 28:18. And be careful who you insult. The pope just might be right and you might be wrong.

Jesus christ, and His covenant of serving Him, the sabbath day, is the only truth....not sunday( the day of sun worship) It sounds like you are still drunk off the blood of the saints.....And you changed God's Holy day of sabbath to sunday...FOR SHAME! Repent and accept Jesus as the only way to Freedom, not the pope. Hes an old smelly man!

The Early Christians worshiped on Sunday, and Jesus never mentions the command to keep the Sabbath holy once.

Admitteldy, posts such as comazzi07's above make it embarrassing to remain Protestant. IT is quite likely that he was raised on what one might refer to as "emotional Christianity," that is, in the style of vicious accusations supported with almost no evidence, if any. Jack Chick, Charles Chiniquey, and the like come to mind.

I know He came to found a Church. He says so, right there in the Bible. Matthew 16:18.

Jesus says "eat my flesh and drink my blood. If you don't, you have no life within you." The DIRECT words of our Blessed Lord. Only the Catholic Church does this. No-one else does.

Nope. And your Biblical quote of John 3:16-18 is irrelevant to this. Yes, the world is saved by Jesus - who SPECIFICALLY identifies Himself with the Church on the road to Damascus to Paul. "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting ME?"

ME. Jesus identifies Himself as the Church. Saul was persecuting the Church.

Admittedly, having been raised Protestant (and viciously anti-Catholic. One need to read Jack Chick's work to understand the level of it) without also having read any church or general history beyond government schools this channel as well as reading history has brought Catholicism into a generally better light.

Which of the 30,000 Protestant Churches preach what Christ says? Almost most claim to use the Bible as their sole source so why are they not one as Jesus prayed in Gethsemane. There was no New Testament for about 400 years after Jesus' death so was there no Church, of course there was - read the writings of the Church Fathers. St Polycarp was ordained by St John himself, the Church continues and its teaching had the authority of Christ as He guaranteed.

so does this mean that what is demanded of us is slightly less than that of the early christians? would it be enough to live a normal life believing in the eucharist and living a moral life? because (and im not 100% sure) i get the feeling like more is required of us, that if we just sit back and live our life although theres nothing wrong with that its not all we have to do? i feel as though we have to be more like this show and re-teach the faith to the post VC2 generation am i wrong?God bless

Yes - but "living a moral life" is NOT simple or easy! It's VERY hard! It includes everything you list above - evangelizing others is part of living a moral life.
