  • JUNK.

  • how does this router work is it good??? any problems

  • This unit is very good, but DO NOT upgrade to version 48 of the firmware. Stay with version 42 instead. The reason being is when I upgraded to version 48, every time I connected my network usb drive, the router/modem crashes causing inability to access the unit''s web-based browser interface, and losing internet connection completely until it is rebooted.

The latest version of firmware/software is very buggy. Netgear's customer service is terrible.

  • is this the regular one or the n router

  • @XxsneakybastardxX I don't quite understand what you mean by N router.

  • @CarlosVthc n router is like a little bit better than the original router when you buy it. it allows you to connect to many things at once like 2 laptops and not have any problem with connection.

  • @XxsneakybastardxX I'm gonna assume I have the N router then, just because I have My 2 computers, TV, and PS3 running at the same time (via wireless) and it runs really well.

  • @CarlosVthc shame

  • @SuperCR45 shame?? shame on me? lol

  • @CarlosVthc jk

  • is this good with an alienware and ps3 working at the same time

  • @XxsneakybastardxX Probably..I have an iMac, Macbook, PS3, and a 3D TV running simultaneously.

  • @XxsneakybastardxX awesome man thanx. was it really expensive i mean the router

  • @lampman67 this router will give you better speed efficiency and fast file sharing

  • this router is amazing getting 19 mgb ps.

  • is this better than the D-Link DGL 4500 etremem gaming router? my internet is shit but will this make it better?

  • @lampman67 nooooo

  • @lampman67 buy dlink netgear wndr3300 iz shit nd it looses your IP adress outta no where buy D-LINK OR LINKSYS

  • dis router sux if u have a ps3 because no matter what u do u cant open the nat type

  • @bilalbarek lol gets the job done on mine(ps3).

  • @CarlosVthc Can you explain how to were able to open up the router so that the PS3 wasn't a NAT 3 type? I'm having the hardest time!

    Thanks

  • @Flw14 I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to internet/NAT types and such, so I don't think I could answer this question clearly. All i could tell you is that I have my PS3 connected via ethernet to my router and I used the automatic choice to do detect the type, IP, etc. Sorry, I couldn't be of more assistance.

  • @CarlosVthc if you look in your conection status on the ps3, do you have nat type 2 or 1?iv tried everything with this router and still type 3.

  • @lolhuguy It says I have NAT type 2.

  • I'm buying this one at the moment!

Do you like yours? did not run into any problems?

  • I'm buying this one at the moment!

Do you like yours? Not run into any problems?

  • I'm thinking buying this one too!

Do you like yours? any suggestions?

  • @robertvhg sorry for the late ass reply, but yeah its definitely an excellent router. As of now I've had no problems with it.

  • Can you have wired and wireless internet connected to this at the same time?

  • @NetworkHackerTV I don't really understand your question...do you mean something like connecting lets say your PS3 via wired connection and your laptop/desktop via wireless?

  • @CarlosVthc Yeah,

  • @NetworkHackerTV Then yeah, thats pretty much my set up.

  • @CarlosVthc Ok thanks

  • do you recomend it for streaming videos, playin PS3/PC games at the same time?

  • @dipakmistry94 uummm..I wouldn't really be able to say, in your case, if its good at streaming videos and gaming online simultaneously(probably depends on your connection). But taking into consideration the amount of bandwidth streaming videos(especially HD) and online gaming consume you will have to sacrifice one(with any wireless router) unless you have a badass/super speedy connection. Atleast thats my case, I've tried it, but there's always lag either with the game or streaming. XD

  • hey dude would you mind messaging me or emailing me the .exe installation file for that router because I recently just lost my installation disc? (I'll subscribe), and I can tell you how to find the file if you don't already know...

  • @BrownNinjaHero38 hmmm...i honestly have no idea where that file you need may be, but if you could point out the location i'll gladly look for it. Just a quick note I have a mac, so i don't know if that could be a problem.

  • @CarlosVthc , great, thanks for the help. Allyou need to do is insert the insallation disc into your mac, but don't run it. Then find it and go inside it by clicking on it, then you might see a bunch of items; just copy and past to an email which ever one says something like setup.exe or installation.

  • @CarlosVthc @BrownNinjaHero38 hi, I just got mine today, everything is set up but I have no internet,, I have att DSL.. but I dont know how to set it up... any suggestions?

  • @rick664ath You probably have to configure the router. You can do this through your browser, if you want a link just pm me and i'll guide you towards the netgear site which has a step by step manual.

  • @valerio5000 The song is called Ain't no rest for the wicked-devil reggae remix by Cage the Elephant.

  • i have the opporontunity to swap a psp for one of these do think its a good idea?

  • depends..do you already have a wireless router? do you use your psp a lot?

  • @CarlosVthc no i have a motoroal crappy rouder i never use my psp and i need wifi for my itouch

  • @WaCiesT

I would definitely go for it.

  • Do you know if this router can be used with adsl mate? you know down the phone line???

  • @ettoa yes, but a separate modem is required. You probably received one with your connection.

  • Yeah dude taydan04 is correct, hopefully you have a separate modem which allows this router to function with your adsl connection.

  • @CarlosVthc Thanks for reply guys, i dont really know, all i have is a netgear dg834g wireless g router. What do you guys mean by separate router?

  • I was referring to a separate modem. the routers fine, but you need the modem to bridge the internet connection.

  • is it simultaneous router? can it run 2.4 and 5.0 bands at once?

  • Yeah i'm pretty sure..My PS3/itouch uses Wireless G(2.4) and my Mac uses Wireless N(5.0) and I always have both of them running simultaneously.
