Beautiful Vibes,...yeah mon Watch out for this MEGA event,...ahh...so Benny and Björn be presentin' their songs, being sung by all the artists ya show in the vid,...AWESOME event,...thumbs up John Boy and thankin' ya for the GREAT share! = )
Yeah that's right Jose, this was for a special Abba tribute night in Hyde Park with Benny and Bjorn in attendance. Each of the artists shown sung an Abba song as listed in the description beneath the video. The highlight was when Benny accompanied Kylie on the piano for When All Is Said And Done, though I think she wore a lot more clothes than in this pic - it can get quite cold in England in the evenings!
A much forgotten tune from the early days. I enjoyed it sooooooo much. I am very pleased to hear about the show coming up. I would give up so much to be there. Hopefully a disc will be produced or a T.V. special. ABBA forever, Christian
Cheers Christian - yes this is a great rocking number, and would have done well as an A-side in UK or US rather than a B-side. It captures the glam rock era of T-Rex and Suzi Quatro etc perfectly. I think this event will be a sell out. I can't see the BBC who've arranged it letting it pass without making a recording, both visual and audio. It will certainly be taped by them, but how much of it they later release is another matter. I guess it will get edited down to around an hour for showing.
Oh lucky London!! Maybe in Australia we'll get to see it on t.v eventually!!! Should be a great show!! At least Mamma Mia stage show is coming back here for the 3rd time next year..YAY, have got my tickets and am ready to go!!! Nice video, thanks for sharing!! : )
Hi Shelley, well if there's any justice they should repeat this event in Australia as your country did at least as much as any other to make them famous! I'm sure there will be sections and extracts on tv news and music channels, but its primarily a radio show. I reckon the whole event could be recorded for people to purchase at some later date, and it should be a sell-out. I've seen the Mamma Mia stage show as well, its fabbatastic!
Wow, John. I think it's up to you to keep all of us informed on what's shakin in the UK with ABBA events/tributes. London seem's to be the ABBA conduit. ICE does a good job, but you seem to have the inside. Keep up the good work.
Hi Rob yeah I had the feeling this major Abba tribute event with Benny & Bjorn was not widely known about outside the UK. Even here there's been limited mention in the media so far. So I decided to do this video to circulate details and list who was taking part and what they were singing. I'm aware of the ICE site but most people don't have time to go around the various sites regularly or even know of them. Also I can show pics of all the performers, which other sites giving this events cannot!
Yeah me too Shay - its well done to BBC Radio 2 who've set up this tribute night. It will be interesting to compare individual performances with the Abba versions. It will be challenging to do those that Agnetha performs because of her strong and emotional voice and perfect delivery - Slipping Through My Fingers (Beth), The Winner Takes It All (Chaka Khan) & One Of Us (Jodie Prenger). I guess Kylie will cover herself up a bit more in England, but you never know! She'll draw the crowds anyway!
Yes its a bit of a shock and attention grabber to start with that one John! My excuse is that its got her name across the pic making it easy to identify. Hope she knows it gets windy in England in September. She's singing with Benny and he needs to concentrate on the words!
Hmmm....there are some personal lines in their song ,,, but I'm sure Benny will be as professional as ever! I still don't know how she got away with that outfit, or lack of it!
Yes - someone needs to tell her England doesn't enjoy hot open air nights like in Australia! It is a very daring outfit that would surely distract from her singing - but I doubt that anyone complained!
I think that picture came from some years before she found about it, but she's coped very well since. Its very good of her to perform in this Abba tribute in the circumstances, I believe its the only live performance she's doing in UK this year.
Hi John! I love this crazy ABBA tune! Sounds like a nice show on the 13th of September! You put up some really great quality stills in your slide show. Nice work!
Thanks Dallas - yep it should be a great show with all these stars paying homage to Benny and Bjorn by singing their famous songs! I thought details of this event are not widely known outside UK, so I decided to do this video listing the performers and the songs they will be doing! This song is from when Abba were still in their glam rock era, with the fuzzy guitar & big use of drums. Its very catchy and I thought it was just right for this video!
