It’s good to see that some martial arts moves come in handy for people who don’t have such extensive training. I think it’s rather important for everyone to have some sort of knowledge about self defense. It all goes back to kung fu and Eastern culture though. If you’re into that kind of stuff you should watch Films of Fury. It is such a great way to see how the arts work in movies, bitly .com/uBGPir.
hahahaha today at school everyone came over me and when they tried to attack me by coming over at me I sticked my finger in their throat and they fell back ^-^ this helped me a lot (: xx
theres this fat german guy that teaches karate, ninjitsu, and self defense courses. He was invited to a full contact mma tournament with his students aswell. His students didn't do the best, but he cleaned house. He wasn't as muscled or conditioned as the mma fighters, but he was alot smarter. He also holds championships in karate everywhere. so don't underestimate people so quickly just cuz they arent pullen off the stupid mma thing.
@YJArt Not a fighting machine, I've won and lost. Trained and competed in traditional, as well as mixed. It's all a learning experience, but a bad idea is a bad idea. You don't have to be an expert on guns, to know that you shouldn't hold a 50. Desert eagle gangsta style. It's dangerous, and if you make you-tube videos telling people to do it, they're probably going to get hurt. For years, shitty "self defense" has been taught because no-one dared question traditional methods. God forbid.
Seriously, in the vary first video one man throws his glasses at a larger man (who is obviously deathly allergic to glasses from his reaction) He than SLAPS the attacker and the attacker willingly goes down, despite not being hit in a vital area, or any force. This is NOT self defense. It's fantasy and make believe. I hope nobody believes this crap, because if they ever try to defend themselves they will get seriously hurt, due to false confidence from horrible training.
I love how the first technique requires your attacker to politely wait for you to reach for your glasses. Oh, and that take-down defense only works on people who don't know how to shoot properly. I don't have enough characters to point out all the flaws in this shit. The Gracies are not "afraid" of these techniques, they would manhandle these guys. As would any decent BJJ practitioner.
type in creativecombats on youtube and you will see the username click on the user name which is creativecombats and he will definetly teach you real world defense
Even these fighting porn actors from the seventies might be fun to look at almost all those "sucker punches and dirty tricks" DO work and are street proven. By myself too, hence I' m 5' 8" and not looking german I was often bullied and physically attacked by fridge-sized guys w/ pea-sized brains for many and no reasons. What I teach in my classes are exactly those things shown here which can be applied by any persons even elder and handicapped ones despite any physical prowess.
bite to the jugular always seems effective as does throwing sand of salt in their eye and stomping on their feet. i'm also a big fan of the double thumb to the eyes. the good old fashion kick to the face usually works. especially when ball room blitz is playing in the background.
thats the geekiest martial arts iv ever seen! points for hilarity! i mean they would work but why bother if you can jodan tsuki? KISS (keep it simple stupid!) thats the way to win in self defence
@GoodNamesUnavailable BJJ is great. it's just not great when you're blindsided in a pub and end up on the floor with all of your attackers' buddies laying the boots in while you try to secure a guillotine choke.
Jodan tsuki is a bullshit move, but that's because it has been misinterpreted as a punch, which it was never meant to be.
The moves these guys are demonstrating are actually of more value in an unwanted violent confrontation than anything you will learn in any sports related martial art.
@superhybridfighter If you get blindsided in a pub by multiple attackers no style or technique is going to be "great" I do BJJ, and the most valuable thing you take away from it that would apply to the scenario you described, is the ability to prevent the attacker from taking you down, or getting back to your feet before you get stomped to death. Why do people always assume our first instinct is to pull guard and take it to the ground? That's bullshit.
Respond to this video... Bjj Is not great for every situation, so why do people always bring up the Gracies?
Alot of this stuff will work this is self defense, not sparring this is take people out so you can get home stuff biting eye gouging spitting anything goes like Krav ma gra or JkD Bjj does have is part but i wish people quit thinking it is the all in one I ca win fights with.
@foxybrown2 The trouble is it's not to take people out. In this video all he does is suprise the attacker. Because it's staged and not a real competition, the attackers gives up or plays dead. To be truly ready for a real life confrontation you should train with resistance. Alot of these techniques rely on your attacker going "owe that hurt" and giving up. In an adrenaline pumped street fight your attacker won't always quit that easily. If you want to take people out, this is not the way to go
@foxybrown2 P.S. I only brought up the Gracies because this video boasts "techniques the gracie family are afraid to reveal" which is utter crap. They obviously never fought a gracie, or decent grappler.
@foxybrown2 Yeah I agree. BJJ is great but I rather be a Boxer or Muay Thai guy who can defend myself against multiple attacks in a street fight than a BJJ guy who would get stomp on while pulling gaurd on someone. Ive taken BJJ since 1998 but I was also a Boxer before so it is very good to have both along with Muay Thai.
@taekwon3000 I have never pulled guard, in competition or application. Not my instinct, and training in BJJ didn't change that. You have to have a complete game, but I never claimed you didn't. The myth that all BJJ guys instinct is to jump guard is BS. I can keep people off me and use my BJJ/wrestling to keep the fight standing up. That's part of grappling, everything starts on the feet. And without grappling, your ability to keep it on the feet suffers.
@scythe0704 I guess I misunderstood you. So you agree that in streetfighting you need to know how to strike as well as to know how to grapple. That was just my point but so its cool.
@taekwon3000 Cool bro, I agree completely. You need to know how to fight from every position. Unfortunately I think people are still falling for the magic bullet philosophy of "just hit him in the nuts and fight dirty and you will overcome any situation! All that Thai boxing and brazillian wrestlin shit only works in sports! If they tried that shit on me I'd just kill him with my super secret techniques I learned in Special forces school! That's real fighting right there!" LOL
@scythe0704 If you get attack by multiple attackers then Boxing will come in way more handy than BJJ. It is common sense. You need to know one or the other. Its like the other way around, when someone says a Boxer with grappling is not complete, well, a grappler without any striking ability is also incomplete.
@taekwon3000 Um... There is no boxing in this self defense video. When did I say a grappler didn't need to know how to strike? My base is BJJ but it's out of an MMA gym so we also do boxing and Muay Thai. When did I say striking was useless and BJJ was the ultimate art? You seem to be confusing my criticism of this unrealistic video as criticism for striking. If you are a boxer than you already know that this coreographed minimum resistance pretend fighting is NOT learning how to strike.
@scythe0704 I don't seem to recall saying that BJJ guys always pull guard, this isn't 1993 any more, pulling guard would be a dumb thing to do in any situation, I was merely making a point to the person I was commenting to, the same point you've made here in fact, that all the positions, joint locks or chokes that BJJ is famous for won't do you the slightest bit of good if you find yourself on the floor and having your head used for football practice. I also do BJJ and it is a great art.
@scythe0704 ... but as well as a BJJ practitioner, I am also a self protection instructor with experience in many other forms of martial arts, including a 4th Dan black belt in Karate which is where the bullshit Jodan zuki technique comes from that I mentioned in my comment to the other guy. I have worked in the security industry for many years dealing with violent confrontation, and believe me, the stuff in this vid is more useful than some martial arts in their entirety.
Funny ... although you've gotta admit, some of that stuff does actually have SOME validity, even if it does look silly. The effect those moves have on the attacker, though, is pretty exaggerated ... which is pretty much the case in ANY martial arts or empty-hand self defense demonstration. They ALL want people to believe that each of "Techniques A-Z" will defeat any attacker when used by anyone who's only learned such moves by watching the video a couple of times.
you guys have edited this video so much that most of what they are doing is either out of context or too incomplete to understand. I have a bought a few T.R.S. videos over the years and while they never equal the sales hype all of them had quality instruction so I dont have any reason to think that this 1 would be any different. And finally, jamming your fingers into someones jugular notch will stop a choke quite easilly
@MrBigdaddy8 LMFAO U must be the dumbest lil nerd on earth so there is actfually people that spend money on this shit n believe it HA HA HA HA HA Thats even funnier then this movie lol
Back in 95 TRS ran ads for these in most MA and fitness mags. The editor in chief of Soldier of Fortune Magazine even endorsed these tapes as live saving and unique and what not. These were part of a package called "unarmed and fearless". It showed gun disarming and knife disarming, including x block against the knife. Ouch !!!!!
At first I doubted these techniques because I thought this was a fake video. However, after employing these special martial arts in real life situations, I defeated a gang of thugs who attempted to mug me and my wife when we got lost and found ourselves trapped in the hood. Anyone can conquer dangerous situations by realizing these genius methods of true martial artistry!
this is gay porn at its worst. the techniques from the guard were the best, when the guy pushes him on the ground and he flails around like a homo. and the conditioning techniques were probBLY the best ive ever heard in my life " im a smoker, lot a people are " thats it,, priceless
Interesting...not sure this is the lamest ever...there's actually some decent stuff in this. The distraction techniques are correct, the suprasternal notch attack (choking the "shit" out of someone), and the joint locks are pretty right on. The kicking is...well, okay, I guess that's lame. However, they are good at creating the most important thing in a real confrontation: FEAR. I am afraid of his mustache.
@YyJoBb Wow wow wow! No growing stuff for you mister! Your body has a certain dimension that relates back to your genes or something in that matter, If you're small/little you're supose to be that way and not increase your height with chemicals and stuff, I say use your height and posture to your advantage for example when your small & thin, you tend to have better movement and be more flexible so i say when in a fight dash forward to close the kick gap and knock your opponent off balance.
@YyJoBb I personaly think only with your leggs you got more range and kicks are very powerfull and hard to catch cause you can easly break a finger when trying to catch it.
Gee, I've been doing it all wrong, glad I found this video. I had been relying too much on giving sucker punches to the nose and using my permited concealed carry .45 ACP.
Look at the left foot of the guy in the red shirt kneeling. He is missing his left food and or leg! You can see the prosthetic leg with his jeans slightly lifted up! Wtf?
LOL, you guys commenting are all idiots. Bet you would get your ass kicked in a street fight. Obviously if you knew ANYTHING, then you would know that lots of this techniques are extremely effective and can save your life. But I do have to admit that some of them are not as practical as they make it seem.
To add to that, these guys are professional self defense teachers and not comedians. If you actually encountered them on the street you would be lying on your ass before you can say "dorks".
@DawgFL No, these guys are idiots. They're teaching the same shit taught in the gracie system for self defense ( pick up a book and read now and then, its an amazing habit). So, nothing new there. This shit they show is only for using on someone and running away fast. It WILL NOT save you in a fist fight. As for the gracie system, its tried and tested even against these arm chair assholes that have never been in a slap fight let alone a cage. But you can keep being an idiot, its a free country
@jujitsuJerk Please clarify why I am an idiot. And I guess I should be more specific. I don't want to disagree with you at all, I think you know what you're talking about. But, I guess I need to add that these techniques can be applied without extensive training. If you really did want to survive in a fist fight you would have to get down techniques and power and speed and it would take a very long time before you feel confident.
PS: I don't think I have heard about this "gracie system".
@DawgFL Okay tough guy. Do they teach on countering a right cross to the face? Or a knee to your face from a Muay Thai plum? Or a one two combo from someone with fast hands. Plus the takedown part is funny. Let me ssee you stop a takedown from a 270 pound wrestler.
I love the attacks from guard and knee on belly sweep. Next time my bro gets me on knee on belly I'll know what to do (If i want him to get me in an armbar). Oh yea, 5:23 was epic!!!
@snapper842002 It appears to be edited from a real self defense video, although I'm not sure if the poster added the captions. I would love to know what the original is titled.

Oh, forgot to mention the "drop to your knees while he chokes you defense..." Good, Lord, no!
toddymo 1 year ago
Oh, but the drop to your knees while he chokes you...retarded. Sorry, meant to mention that...retarded.
toddymo 1 year ago
Interesting...not sure this is the lamest ever...there's actually some decent stuff in this. The distraction techniques are correct, the suprasternal notch attack (choking the "shit" out of someone), and the joint locks are pretty right on. The kicking is...well, okay, I guess that's lame. However, they are good at creating the most important thing in a real confrontation: FEAR. I am afraid of his mustache.
toddymo 1 year ago

DawgFL 1 year ago
@DawgFL No, these guys are idiots. They're teaching the same shit taught in the gracie system for self defense ( pick up a book and read now and then, its an amazing habit). So, nothing new there. This shit they show is only for using on someone and running away fast. It WILL NOT save you in a fist fight. As for the gracie system, its tried and tested even against these arm chair assholes that have never been in a slap fight let alone a cage. But you can keep being an idiot, its a free country
jujitsuJerk 1 year ago
@jujitsuJerk Please clarify why I am an idiot. And I guess I should be more specific. I don't want to disagree with you at all, I think you know what you're talking about. But, I guess I need to add that these techniques can be applied without extensive training. If you really did want to survive in a fist fight you would have to get down techniques and power and speed and it would take a very long time before you feel confident.
PS: I don't think I have heard about this "gracie system".
