  • FUCKING SHIT QUALITY VIDEO

  • They had earned quite a bit of money at this point, could buy the (real) good drugs........too much of.

  • what does this say? "This song is abou a lady from....." ???

  • @INF3darkgreen about a lady from wales. usually she says about an old welsh witch or about a welsh woman, some variation.

  • @kaitsy Rhianon is a legendary Welsh Goddess.Or in early legends just a human Refer to wikipedia/Rhiannon

First reference to her I found was a text from the 13th century "Peniarth 16,"

  • @VNOltec yep, welsh goddess is what i know Rhiannon to be as well. thank you for the text, that's an interesting reference. Stevie will often open the older performances by saying, "this is a song about an old Welsh Witch" is what i mean in my earlier comment. & on this one she says about a lady from Wales.

  • @INF3darkgreen Wales - I think.

  • @INF3darkgreen Oops katsy beat me to it (should have read the more recent comments)

  • maybe its just me, but i think Lindsey sounds a lot better with a distorted les paul than the Rick Turner Model 1 that he normaly uses. everytime i see old videos with him and the les paul his performances are more raw and exciting. Oh and Stevie kicks ass too : )

  • What would they been as song-writers, musicians, if they were not allowed a toot or two. Read your history and you will find all the great writers, singers, artists used them. It was not always illegal and we would not have the songs and paintings etc today if it had been banned. Get in line now, we are all ment to be tax paying clones, any one living outside of this will be arrested. Dictact by Brussels. Love the clip x

  • Excellent. Wish I saw this live. Stevie Nicks is a legend and always will be. So what about the cocaine - she was strong enough to get off it - why do people have to judge everyone when they obviously don't know what they're talking about.

  • go to version posted by CHris123445. It is by far the best version on here. Buckingham is fabulous and Nicks cutting loose at the 5 minute mark with give you goosebumps. The track is superior to any other

  • stevie is my hero the reason i started to do my own music i learned to sing by listening to stevie all the time she is my inspiration!!!!!

  • Oh jeez... they sound like they're at the end of their tour !

  • my mother used to sing this song to me so i'd go to sleep. when i got older, i always wondered why she chose THIS one, but i'm still grateful for it since it's pretty much my favorite memory of my mother. the fact she resembled Stevie didn't hurt. Couldn't sing like her.... but she tried. haha

  • with the camera and ligthing from a distance she looks like a deamon then anxiety dispells when you see the beautiful witch up close.

  • Haley Reinhart for the win!!

  • good sound but terrible video..its fading and breaking up..should be put on the shelf now..the other live performance of this song is much clearer along with great sound

  • A great performance, What a shame it is commented upon by some foul-mouthed sados who seem to have nothing better to say or do. Just watch and listen to Stevie and enjoy!

  • I grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks all the good old Rock and Roll, This Song touches me deeply my lil Sister is named after this song. Miss you Rhi! Love you!

  • I don't really know much about their history, but Stevie just sounds so exhausted in this performance. It's like she's lost herself from too much time on the road. What happened? She's still good, but not nearly as powerful as she usually is. Usually, from what I've seen, Stevie brings down the house normally. But here...here she sounds...like something's just gone.

  • This is a pretty cool version.

Of course its nothing like the '76 one....which is mind blowing for me and my hubby!

Stevie is and will always be my fave rocker chick!

I can just tell she was very worn down and needed a break from touring at this point.

Though, it still a powerful performance!!!!!!

Thanks for this video! I loved it!

  • @MrsCindyLeonidas

Check out Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon (Awesome Performance) Chris123445. Awesome performance describes a performance that is mother fucking fine as fuck. Phil Collins, Fairwell Tour - Drums and "take me home", is the other performance that fit the category of mother fucking fine as fuck

  • @waketheoblivious

Hell yeah!! The Rhiannon(Awesome Performance) Is my daily fix!

I need to seriously watch and hear that version daily!

My hubby is going to put it on my mp3 somehow. She n Lindsey are amazing

This one is showing how drugged up she is at that time. Though Lindsey Rocked as always! Her ending was a bit on par with her original self at least. But, not much! The listed from...seegtunes Live 1976... is a kick ass version too!!

I will go check out the Phil Collins now! Thanks!

  • @waketheoblivious Man, you're really grasping for adjectives. Your English teacher would be proud. Pathetic.

  • It's amazing the transformation in her from '75 to '78. Too much fame, too much coke, too much partying.... But, who are we to judge ? She somehow survived it all...

Keep rocking on, Gold Dust Woman !

  • The Hohner Combo Pianet! One of the last times we ever heard that sound again in a Fleetwood Mac show. Isn't that a bummer?

  • I REALLY LOVE STEVIE BUT SHE DOESNT EVEN KNOW THE WORDS TO THE SONG!!; SHE IS REALLY F---ED UP AND SOUNDS TERRIBLE-THE BEST VIDEO IS THE 1976 LIVE PERFORMANCE

  • I might be wrong but I don't think it's part of a tour. When they show the background, there's a tree with a moon behind it on the stage.... It think it's a TV show called "The Midnight Special"

  • you can tell she's exhausted here

  • It was the '70s. How many rockers do you think were running around straight? She was a product of her environment, People need to just be happy for her that she didn't end up dead like so many others did. We're lucky to still have her.

  • I never saw this paticular clip of this song or Stevie with that look exactly,i like even if it is poor quality, makes me feel old.

  • Oops. Did I say Mac? You know what meant.

  • Sorry to disagree, but this sucks. The one where Stevie's wearing black and says, "This is a song about a Welsh witch," is spine tingling. I do sing, so may be I'm pickier. But check out :38. Is that how you want to hear it? 54 - to 1:15 doesn't cut it for me.

And it's not just Stevie. The harmonies at 1:26 to 1:54 are painful. And on it goes.

There is a GREAT version, but I can't find it. There is a great shot where the camera goes to Mac, and his face reflects that it's magic.

  • @TheSoSoAgnostic Click me to find ur answer.

    The best version ever there..

  • @GrimReefer1983 That's the one I was sending people to. It's the right performance, but there was one with better sound quality and, to be super picky, the very beginning isn't cut off. But thanks!

  • @TheSoSoAgnostic Have you found it ?

A uncut, better sounding vid of that, would be awesome!

    Thx.

  • @GrimReefer1983 I'm loooking. Why do they take things down!?!!? (I'm stomping my feet)

  • simply incredible

  • @fleetwood77mac Check out " Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon - ( Awesome performance )"

from CHRIS123445" It's the right performance, but there was another one that had a bit better sound quality. Listen to this any way and you'll see what I mean in my other comment.

  • @TheSoSoAgnostic

Although every performance has it's few differences, I find that without fail I get chills! Thanks for the link to that version though- I don't think I've seen it before. I don't know much about singing, but I love the sound of Stevie, Lindsey and Christine singing the "Rhiannon" part together. Sigh. :)

  • Ok Im going to set the record straight! This is from their performance in Landover, MD in '78 at the end of the Rumours tour.......how do I know?? I WAS THERE, I was 16 at the time and this was the first concert I ever went to. Sorry misterblue24 but apparently you dont know everything!

  • @vloudenc your soo lucky!

  • this isn't a comment against this video, but against YT, when I got home tonight I found they did away with the volume control... Yt is deteriorating on a daily basis... please some rich millionaire buy it from google and save it before they turn into FOX tv, they already have adverts, which is disgusting.

  • @ValerieBarlow What?

  • Beautiful, magical Stevie

  • i agree with long distance...mister doesnt know what misters talking about....and i know more about stevie and the mac than you ever will:)

  • my name is rhiannon!!

if i were there then in the chorus wen she goes:rhiannnnnooooonnnnn i would yell out ...

    yeah? what do you want?

  • shes so monotone here, but they are playing like shitttttttt;notice how she looks back like wtffffffff lol

  • Rumours tour?? Try the Tusk tour. Stevie didn't sing Rhiannon like this during the Rumours tour. You might assume that because of the backdrop scenery, but they used that for years.

  • @MisterBlue24 Actually, this is from Landover show in the August of '78, one of the last stops on the Rumours tour. I have it. The Tusk tour didn't even begin until late 1979.

  • Because bootleg tapes are always accurate, right?

  • Comment removed

  • @MisterBlue24 definately 78

  • Yeah, because you were there, right? I have more years on you and I know what I'm talking about.

  • lol k

  • @MisterBlue24 EUGH how can you even judge my knowledge bout fleetwood mac thru the fuckin internet!haha laame. seriously grow the fuck up. this was 1978 i dare you to go ask ANYBODY! id bet my life on this actually.

  • @kendraOB Why don't you grow the fuck up you uninformed cunt. You know shit! End of story. Bet your life on it if you want. I was probably a fan while you were still up in your father's bag.

  • @MisterBlue24 Lol k even though im older than you. Ok because you know what I know and you know me personally! Shit ofcourse you do. Its people like you on youtube that make us all laugh, Getting all worked up over a video. LOL shit

  • @kendraOB And yet, you're the only one getting worked up with run on paragraphs. Go bother someone else troll. I'm done wasting my breath on you.

  • @MisterBlue24 LOL

  • @MisterBlue24 i'm so irritated with everyone on here. ANY REAL FAN OF FLEETWOOD MAC WHO IS WORTH THEIR SALT KNOWS THAT THIS IS THE FREAKING TUSK TOUR. LOOK AT LINDSEY FOR PETE'S SAKE! Any fan who actually follows the history of fleetwood mac knows that lindsey did not cut his hair and dress like he is in this video until the TUSK TOUR. HELLLLOOOOOOOOO. Misterblue is CORRECT. I am only 24 years old and this is blatently obvious to me.

  • @alanabelladonna Thank you. A real fan at last, and not someone that discovered FM five minutes ago.

  • 5:49-5:56 she is totally epic!! Almost reminds me of Ophelia, though, which is sad.

  • OMG, Stevie would have been kicked out of the first round audition of American Idol for this!

  • even though she's had better performances, she's still always amazing

  • nice that someone posted this. not so nice to watch or listen to though.....they were having rough times.

  • I read once that Lindsey used to play Rhiannon and other songs either too fast or slow to mess with Stevie - esp when they were fighting. Then the rest of the band would have to compensate - may have happened here...just crappy playing altogether - not a good performance.

  • thank you for posting this!

  • You can tell it was the near end of the tour with a lack of vocal performance and the awesome guitar work has been tamed down and not as powerful as the 1975 to 1976 performances!, now its non- existent in thier shows!

A Stevie struggled with vocal and lung problems!

  • Yikes. Crappy video. And yep, I'm afraid Nicks was either exhausted or too fucked up to really get it right. I've seen her perform this live like a dozen times by now, and this is one of the worst.. Gotta love her outfit, though.

  • awesome. I just saw these guys at the palace a few months back, best show I've ever gone to man!

  • I like this performance a lot. I liked her voice better then.

  • I saw them in 1978 at the Cotton Bowl=) Incredible show.

  • I adore this song but this isn't the best rendition they ever did.

  • same here, still love it tho

  • Do you have the whole show? What is this from? I would love to see the whole concert!!

  • I saw them in 2004, and they did a great performance

  • This is one of her worst performances ever. She was so high on coke she probably hardly knew what was going on. At least she made it through the bad times though. What a babe, and what a singer. She is the best!

  • However, she was still HOT !

  • That's for damn sure!

  • i was born too late missed all the greats but this band was what i was brought up on and they are amazing especially live

  • And wouldn't you love to love her?

  • I luv dis song and i was named after it

  • umm this song is not about coke actually. rhiannon is a welsh witch, that she read about in a book...

  • Stevei is a star quality as it gets no one comes close.OMG LUV HER...

  • When you watch Stevie's performance here, you become spellbound. It doesn't matter, cocaine, personal drama....their music touched our soul. And that's why we still love it.

  • man, whenever i see these old concert bits its amazing how wasted they always were! Love the feather cap.

  • shit without drugs we might not have the great music we have today--i can guarentee alot of the good music from drug addicted bands wouldnt have been as good without the drugs--alot of bands when they go clean--theyre music starts to suck royally

  • On the cocaine comments, Cocaine is a naturally derived substance that was part of early human folk treatments and pharmacology....which is where we get "witches" being the early healing doctors...and this song is about thier persecution by ignorant people. What makes it deep is ther struggle to help ease humanity's suffering and being crucified for it. They were mankinds doctors, healers, helpers. So, is it about a "witch".... or medicine woman. Sound's different huh ?

  • well, love stevie and mac, but still, we do know some was the coke, eh? thanks for putting this up, though.

  • most of it was talent. cocaine is just their unfortunate accessory that nearly ruined their lives.

  • @wildsmiley HOwever it did enhance a few performances, in the beginning... but you are right; in the end it did cripple them.

  • I don't think this song could have came out at a better time. She gets pretty "witchy" and "possessed" in this performance and it's cool to think maybe she really is, but let's face it folks, it's all about the cocaine!! I still love it though!

  • when did stevie stop hitting the high C in the chorus

  • I wish she still did. =(

I do in my cover version, which I'll be posting in about a year.

  • Sorry, but I cannot believe that she had a high C in her. If there is one where she does it, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

  • Euuww, this would have had great potential as they do some neat improvising but the quality is so poor. Speed seems to vary.

  • asheville nc . keep your top on honey ';i love

stevie nicks and i love you too TONYA merry christmas to all , states come and go but whatever. all the same ?????????? Tonya say dallas nc

  • Love the hat, it's totally cool, Stevie does no wrong, lets face it

  • And yet is greatly considered one of the best female singer/songwriters in rock EVER, made more money than you and I can dream of, was part of six no. 1 albums, on top of that one which has sold over 30 MILLION copies. I don't think she 'sux' that much, really. When you achieve all of that, maybe you can come back and spout your bullshit.

  • You poor pathetic individual....how sad it must be to be you...Stevie will live on forever because she is a legend...sorry to dissapoint the miserable likes of you.

  • love you rightly said! you put them in their place!

  • No, YOU suck for thinking that.

  • this time she said "this is a song about a lady from wales" what happened to the "old welsh witch"? :(

  • I find it hilarious that my name is Rhianon and this song kinda freaks me out whenever I listen to it...

    Yes, it's Rhianon.

    The traditional spelling.

  • Wow, I couldn't disagree more. This is the worst of the lot. Seriuosly pitchy, and the whole thing seems like they are just struggling to get through it. Sorry, but there are better versions - one in particular is perfect but I forget which!

  • To me, my perfect version of Rhiannon is the one from the Live 1980 CD. It's amazing, cause you know that Fleetwood Mac were seriously on top of their game then, and they were as close to perfection as you can get in a band. Is that the one you mean?

  • I agree, the live version from 1980 is amazing. The band and Stevie are amazing on that version, there is something raw and hypnotic about it.

  • My far and away favorite is 1976.

  • mine too.....always

  • STEVIE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome as always!

    Love the ending! :)

  • The best is at Rock Hoppers - 1975??? Anyone have that???

  • yes i have two cd's

  • Anyone know...There was a video of Rhiannon live outdoors, Lindsey had a fro, Stevie was wearing black and completely exhausted pounding the tambourine on the stage floor. Is it still posted?

  • a;ready have them but thanks

  • I also HIGHLY recommend TUSK & their 2-disc live album from 1980. The version of Rhiannon on that live disc is truly amazing, and there are many other gems on it too, along with an otherwise unreleased song of Stevie's called "Fireflies" Great, great stuff.

  • O yeah that album's amazing! I play it at least once a week. You're right about Fireflies - amazing. Also, I'm So Afraid, Sara, Never Going Back Again, etc...

    It's brilliant!

  • I like "Farmer's Daughter" too :)

  • never seen this one before. thanks for posting it!

  • I OVE THIS SOOO INTENSE!!!! I LOVE HER!!!!She is beautiful!!!!!! Does anyone have this file as an mp3?

  • This is awesome! I've never seen this before and I thought I had seen them all! Classic Stevie! LOVE it! Does anyone have this entire show on video or DVD?

  • As much as I like her headpiece she should have taken it off when it started to become distracting.

  • This is the making of a legend. The sweet voice of an angel here on earth. Stevie Rock on ancient queen. As it go's once in a million years a lady like her rises and that is you. Peace From NYC NY

  • I second that!! How lucky are we to have witnessed it!!!

  • What a goddess, I just swore any minute she would actually take flight. Those classic twirls...timeless without doubt.

  • Let's not kid ourselves - I was 9 when when FM did this........... I wish I was 19 at the time!! However, that would have made me 50 now!!! This music is timeless, transends a lot a other things too........?

  • At least that is one thing good for me about turning 50 next month. I got to see Fleetwood Mac in their prime!

  • I'm not far behind you. 49 next month.

  • "... a lady from Wales"? I thought Rhiannon was a Welsh goddess or queen. Perhaps a faux pas from our dear lady Nicks.

  • She's a goddess, but she does the intro as different as the song sometimes haha

She become a lady when she came from the light world to be Pwyll's queen, so I think Stevie is still safe with the use of lady here. Although she got the name from Triad, she also later read the Mabinogion Tetralogy which I think most Stevie fans would find to be a good read. I liked it anyways, it's by Evangeline Walton and I got my copy from Amazon. Check it out :D

  • STEVIE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

  • she sings better when shes drunk I think. geez dont take yourselves so seriously!

  • I love her here. I love her there. I live her everywhere. I guses I love her!!

  • um...don't tell me that Stevie was on another level than the other members....she was into her element whenever they played Rhiannon. I didn't see that Lindsay was playing a "red" gibson les paul, on other videos, he played his trademark guitar and some other les pauls but he chose a rare color on the Rumours tour.

  • this is fantastic, thank you

  • This is a song about a lady from Wales!

  • Ohh...It sounded to me like she said "This is about a lady in a well".

Thanks for clearing that up :o)

  • Stevie's wearing white... she usually wears black for Rhiannon..., but she looks (and sounds) out of this world!

  • This was filmed after some religious crazies accused Stevie of being a witch for wearing black. I don't think she started dressing ENTIRELY in black again until the 90s.

  • Never saw this before, and it's difficult to say when this was indeed. Maybe Lindsey cut his hair at the end of the Rumourstour?

  • You are correct. Mac toured for two months at big stadiums in the summer of 1978. Buckingham's hair was already cut short, but he was still playing the Les Paul (the Turner came in 1979). This video is Landover MD 1978.

  • I saw them in August 1978 at the Omni in Atlanta, and the first thing we said was, "Ohh, Lindsey cut his hair!!" It was the best concert I ever saw. They did "Sisters of the Moon" for the encore, and it was unbelievable!

  • I think I have a '78 (ie. pre-Tusk) live version of "Sisters". It is longer than the eventual version, with different vocal harmonies and a longer guitar solo. It was, like, 9 minutes or so. Pretty cool. The piano demo sends chills down my spine.

  • Wow! This might be the best version of Rhiannon ever! The ghost thing Stevie does at 5:15- is spooky!

  • I saw them at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in July 1978. Looks like pictures I've seen from that timeframe. Nice find!

  • It's The ~Rumours Tour Stage~ & This is amazing ~ * Thank You Jamestay!

  • This is one of the last shows of the Rumours Tour, August 1978.

  • This can not be 1978. Stevie intorduces it as "A song about a lady from Whales" and Lindsey is minus great hair and beard. I believe this is Tusk era - '79/'80. Not Rumours tour.

  • This has to be from the Rumours tour because of the background of the tree with the moon. They only had that background for that tour.

  • I think they had the background toward the end of the White Album tour as well. I remember seeing it in the Midnight Special videos

  • I saw them in 1980 in Europe and they had the same background (at least for Rhiannon).

  • 1978 huh????

  • ~~~AWESOME~~~ 5*s
