  • The greatest Heavy Metal singer of all.

  • band sounds weak...with no energyBut they could aford it ...Dio carries the whole band in his back .Voice and amazing way to perform in the mood of the shows.in a very teaatrical way in the good meaning of the expression.Never was a animal ,hotel rooms breaker,or a n almost murder as ozzy( he didnt killed his wife for very litlle.in the 80's Dio ,was the creator of hear 'n'naid...you can be a extreme bad ass metal head and a tottaly decent and concient human beying ,he proved it..

  • EVEN OZZY KNEW POUND FOR POUND,RJD HAD THE BEST VOICE & STAGE PRESENCE BETWEEN THE TWO!DON'T GET ME WRONG,HAVE BIG RESPECT FOR OZZY & ALL BUT DAMN, RONNIE BROUGHT IT LIKE NO ONE ELSE EVERY TIME!

  • R.I.P. Ronnie. U rock!

  • Long Life Black Sabbath

  • This is possibly the finest footage ever of DIO...it's just wonderful...

  • @nnemanjaa1 it is the improviso of DIO in real Heaven and Hell song does not contain this words

  • I miss mr Dio alot. He was one hell of a singer, entertainer and person. And I don´t know If It´s just me, but isn´t It something very mystical and magical about Dio? In my book he made rock n roll magic at least =)

  • best time in my life !!!!

  • the less that you give your a taker

  • no parepaa saa etsiä.

  • Ronnie isnt RIP ,he wouldnt want it...Hes somewhere in Hell planning his take over....at least until Ozzie gets there

  • THIS IS NOT FROM LIVE EVIL

  • First of all DIO means GOD in Italian...

I wish I were an Italian in order to believe in this GOD (Ronnie James Dio)...

    He will never die...

As I said, he 's not a human...

    He 's GOD!!!!

  • @panagiotisMETALROCK

He's A god. Not the. But I hear you.

  • @panagiotisMETALROCK

We don't care you are Italian or Fake Italian or what not.

RONNIE J DIO is AMERICAN & LEGEND.

  • @maxinpains Uhmmmm,he's not American...His surname is Padavona, his parents are pure Italians,he was born in Portsmouth,England and his accent is English....He is not American at all....he may have lived in America, but he wasn't American!

  • @AceBrate

but Hewill never be became big without AMERICA.

  • @maxinpains So what if he became big in America, still,he's not American....

  • @AceBrate

& he didn't lived in Italy. he left italy for long ass time. does that tell you something? LOL

  • @panagiotisMETALROCK and as you might know...he was half italian...his name was Ronnie James Padovano...and his grandparents were Italians. The sign of the horns (\m/) was teached him by his grand mother. She believed that doing this sign lets the devil go away! ITALIANS DO IT BETTER! ;)

  • @DarkPrince89ify Off course...He was one of the best singers of all time(if not the best)...He did changed many things in Music...A real LEGEND...I totally agree with you...

But,I think you 've done a little mistake...His real name actually was Ronald James Padavona...;)

    And almost forgot... " \m/ "

  • After he died I play this song every day. I play it always very loud and I know that he can hear me, and he knows that I will still remeber him.

    Rest In Peace R.J. DIO

  • @Samael880101 very well put i listen to him everyday too my man

  • saw this great tour. born into this generation of Heavy Metal.

brings back the crazy days. good times.

  • @TheCozybear65 Me too! How old do I feel right now. Fantastic days :-)

  • @martinace1000 it's alright though because we old farts saw the legends of Heavy Metal in its prime. It could only happen once. It's all history now. We get to watch it on you tube ..Yikes!

  • @TheCozybear65 Ha Ha, that's for sure - your reply just made my day. I saw em at Bridlington Spa - they did an intro that seemed to last forever & then came on & the pyros set fire to the curtains!!!! So they had to go off & come back on again later.

Later in the gig, I remember shouting out for War Pigs & they played it!!! (I think it was a coincidence) .I was 17 & thought I'd gone to Heaven (or Hell!!!). I wish you well mate!!!

  • @martinace1000 Great experience man. Gad I made your day. I was 17 then too. Great time to be young!!

  • legend..rip...rjd!!

  • saw this in 82.

  • Dio THE BEST!!!

  • I saw this tour in Boston, MA, March 3, 1983, and it was the greatest concert I ever saw live. I was in the 16th row middle and it blew my mind. I've been to well over a hundred concerts now, and this was the probably the top one. (the acid enhanced it even more). I never said wow so many times in two hours in my whole life.

  • @LLH97921 By 1983 this tour was long over. In fact the Mob Rules tour had come and gone by '82 with Dio departing afterward.

1983 brought Ian Gillian and the Born Again tour.

Indeed the acid miust have been primo \,,/

  • @gbc77000 Yes you're right, I didn't see it in '83. I was too quick in to submit when I then realized I was a year off. I graduated high school in 1981, then while working my first job in March '82 I went to the show. In fact I was worried I would not be in good enough condition to get up for work the next day. I made it because I was in an altered state and totally up for over three days. I have seen some other concerts that did in fact tie for first, but this was first of the first! WOW!!!!!!!

  • This video pisses me off! It doesn't come with a fucking awesome button.

  • LIVE = EVIL BACKWARDS

  • @jagex3000 OMG.

  • @jagex3000

    Wow! Really...?

  • @England5is5the5best mmmmm?huh?

  • @England5is5the5best mmmmm?huh?you welcome?

  • Better Dio than that brain dead wanker ozzy.

  • Listening to his voice, you forget what a tiny little bastard he was. The pipes on this guy were incredible.

  • @DrFlaxWebFLOO Imagine what the metal world would be like if Dio HADN'T joined Sabbath? Metal music WITHOUT Heaven and Hell and the Mob Rules? I'd rather NOT dwell on THAT!

  • James Dio is okay, but Ozzy rules Black Sabbath and ALWAYS will!!

  • @MsAlienated Get the hell out of our lawn.

  • Comment removed

  • @wadsondc I don't see your damn name on anyone's "lawn" ! I am entitled to an opinion! I probably know this band and it's contents better than you do "wadsondc". Go play in the traffic!

  • The most depressing realization after Dio's passing is that the vocal powerhouses of the 80's are all going to die someday. In a world without Dio, Ozzy, Halford and Dickenson who will be left to carry the spirit of old school metal? Not any of the crap you here today. Everyone tries to sound like Nickleback or Daughtry. And neither one of those clowns can come close to this. Unless we see a drastic change in the approach to what the industry defines as talent we are doomed.

  • @lazrokit1 megadeth and mettalica Long live Rock and Roll!!! Dream theater etc.

  • @mrendgame970 Why are you mentioning those shit bands on a Black Sabbath/Dio post?

  • @England5is5the5best your fucking ignorent limy ass and fucked up teeth can suck a horse cunt and die your just menstrating all over good bands because you cant play an instrment so go bleed all over people who cant fucking put on a condom such as the jonas brothers

  • @darkANGELSinside666 Look people, your average stupid gay american.

  • @lazrokit1 Even after the "old school" vocalists pass away, I'll, FOR ONE, be, STILL, listening to "old school" metal! I have NO PROBLEM ignoring the so-called "new breed" or "future" (??) of metal! I, WITHOUT QUESTION, have BETTER bands or things to spend MY money on! Speaking of the so-called "future" of rock/metal, even though I was born and raised in Seattle, I DO NOT LIKE Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and/or Nirvana!

  • 2 people are bringers of evil...

  • The greatest guitar intro ever.

  • Never saw this live vid before... very nice. Thx FRocker

  • This is from "Black And Blue" recorded on the Heaven and Hell Tour. "Live Evil" was recorded on the Mob Rules tour... Just sayin'

    (Still Awesome)

  • Uhhh... That guitar is the Voodoo

  • Wow 1 Moron doesnt like this ? what a shame ! RIP RONNIE!

  • FUCK YOU STUPID CANCER!!!!!!!!! YOU'VE TAKEN AWAY TOO MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO HAVE WALKED THIS EARTH! DIO, ROCK IN PEACE!

  • Amen brothers, he was a King among men, I saw Dio in '85 twice on the Sacred Heart Tour, in '92 with "Sabbath" and again in 2008 with "Heaven and Hell". Hands down one of the finest singers and songwriters in rock history! The first 4 Rainbow records alone stand as a legacy of his brilliance....

  • I was really dismayed to hear that he had passed on :(

One of my fav bands and singers. No one like him and them. These songs will be buzzing in my head till my last breath too :)

  • there will never ever be another Ronnie James Dio

  • there will never ever be another Ronnie James Dio.

  • DIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :'(

  • Rock on Ronnie ! You were a big part of my childhood, and I never saw you do a bad gig? Great voice! Top Man! Love ya APW

  • Where is the actual Live Evil version of this song. It was recorded for video as Dio said on this recording, but we have yet to see this. WHEN will it fucking come out?

  • @tujungite Unfortunately never, it seems. There are only short bits of the footage around on the net. The reason is probably beacuse of the massive re-recording and overdubs done on the released Live Evil tracks, the video footage simply doesn't match.

  • @lockone1977 Frustrating. I guess we're lucky to have what remains, which is quite a bit. I was also looking for the Live evil video for Children of the Sea but that also is elusive.

  • Rock.in.peace Metal god! we'll always remember you, your name will live forever. YOU FUCKING RULE HEAVY METAL!!!!

  • this ain t japan and this aint live evil...this is black and blue and this was recorded in new york...irrelevant people...and this one was in 1980...

  • this ain t japan and this aint live evil...this is black and blue and this was recorded in new york...irrelevant people...

  • @RazzzzzeR ok whatever nerd

  • R.I.P DIO we always remembered you you fucking rules

  • EVERYTHING about Dio still gives me the chills; RJD is in HEAVEN! RIP, little buddy.

  • I have the entire Sabbath set for this show. It is NOT the Mob Rules tour, and it certainly isn't from Live Evil.

It's from the fucking Heaven adn Hell tour of 1980. New York, or Rhode Island. Somewhere up there. One of Vinnie's first shows (A month after bill left.)

  • @GangstaLink Dude...you can go back and look at every single photograph of Black Sabbath circa Heavan & Hell...you will never find Dio wearing that stage costume....not until late 82 early 83...he even wore that in his early Dio days. Check it out and get back.

  • RIP RJ Dio, you will be missed.

  • No way! It's Mob Rules Tour. I have photos. What band in history has used the same exact stage set up in repititon? This was when they recorded "Live Evil", check the Live Evil CD out and compare it to this video.

  • @JohnnyTruthSmaksHard Yep. Mob Rules. I was there.

  • @JohnnyTruthSmaksHard

Wrong. Mob Rules Tour stage was bigger, with a bigger lighting rig, and didn't have the crosses on the sides.. Besides, this is from the Movie "Black and Blue", which I saw as a Midnight movie, Featuring tunes from Blue Oyster Cult AND Black Sabbath, filmed in New York.

  • It's the Mob Rules tour. I was there in Dallas May 12th, 1982 and they had the same exact stage set up and costumes. Why would a band use the same costumes and stage setup 2 years later? It's from the Live Evil video which was recorded in Seattle, Dallas and I believe San Antonio.

  • I mean 2 years earlier...in response to the !980 Show.

  • Actually, it was the Heaven and Hell tour, to be specific it was billed as the "Black and Blue Tour" which as you probably know, featured Sabbath and B.O.C. This clip is from the movie "Black and Blue" which was shown in theaters as a midnight show in 1982. It has never been released. I've never even seen a full bootleg. Iommi said he doesn't have the rights or footage. To me, it is the evasive holy grail of rock.

  • i hope that heaven and hell will release a dvd from the "live evil" tour. i saw someone on ebay sell a copy for $300 buck or best offer. it would be a great tribute to ronnie! r.i.p dio

  • One of the best rock and roll voices of all time! RIP Ronnie James.

  • This isn't in Japan. It was broadcast for Japanese T.V. Thanks for posting. R.I.P. one of the very best!

  • you're beyond heaven n hell!!

  • Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Peace Ronnie.

  • Legends never die. Long Live RJD!

  • I was so pissed when I heard Dio Had passed.I Seen dio with heaven and hell in 2008 and in 2009. they were killer shows and the band was tight as a drum. they seemed to be having alot of fun playing together. I was so much looking forward to more albums and tours. RIP Dio.I miss ya already

  • @smithdsmit........ I'll never forget this show, early eighties..Did you see Black Sabbath back then? I missed the 2008 performances..Love Dio,man.

  • @nostalgia43 No I never got a chance to see sabbath in the early 80's or dio for that matter.I wish I had been aware that dio had rejoined sabbath in the early 90'sI would have loved to see the dehumanizer tour.I never even heard of that alum tell 2000.My sister seen sbbath in 1980 with corpions backing them. thaT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT SHOW TO SEE.i WAS OLD ENOUGH TO SEE THESES SHOWS BUT i HAD NO money back then

  • @smithdsmit........... Tell your sister I said she rocks!!. That was my favorite year for concerts...Hail to 1980 and it's precise birth of Heavy Metal.!!

  • @nostalgia43 she also seen ozzy with rhoads in milwaukee.jan 82.her and i seen heaven and hell together in 09. her son went to..we also went to see rush and scorpions together last summer. thats are new family outing activity we do together now. we go to concerts. my nephew was born in 83 so he missed all the good bands first time around.Im glad some of them are still around. I know there are alot of ozzy haters but now that dio has passedI hope they patch things up.I love sabbath and want more

  • @smithdsmit .. Fuck, she's right on..Good for you and your family..I saw Ozzy countless times, including 78' with Iommi, later with Rhoades..I loved Thin Lizzy, which I saw in 83'.

I'm amazed Ozzy lived longer than Dio....The man defies the odds !!

  • @nostalgia43 he hasnt lived longer then Dio though.Dio died at 67. ozzy is 62. lets hope he lives a long time.Ive lost some respect for ozzy over the yrs. but he still rocks and does a great show

  • This isn't Live Evil and it isn't 1982 either.

It's Heaven and Hell from the Black 'N' Blue tour with Blue Oyster Cult in 1980

  • @charlesrenniemacki

I remember that Black & Blue tour. I didn't get to go. That was the era of so much great heavy metal... Think Lizzy/Renegade; Judas Priest/Screaming For a Vengeance; Iron Maiden/Killers; Motorhead/Iron Fist; Sabbath/Mob Rules; AC/DC's Back in Black; etc. No one's invented a time machine yet, so I can go back an relive my happiness? I remember buying the Dio Sabbath RECORDS new for $7.59 at the local store. Good ole days! LOL!

  • i thought this was the heaven and hell tour? really? live evil? wow......

  • Excellent old video

  • now thats a good hairline dio :D

  • I saw Black Sabbath in Aug 1982 at Merriwaether Post Pavilion. I'm confused about the comment below because the concert shirt I bought specifically said "Live Evil" on it and listed several tour dates. I always thought that they continued the Mob Rules tour, but had decided that they wanted to record a live album during that tour and, while they were recording for the live album, they called it the "Live Evil" portion of the tour (at the end of the Mob Rules tour). Does that make sense?

  • YOU ARE 110% RIGHT.I saw them at the Meadowlands Arena in Jersy in Aug 82 and I still the T-shirt with LIVE EVIL I was 16 back then my first concert and I saw them again with my 13 year old son in Perth Western Australia in Aug 07.But now no I also like White Power music too so SIEG HEIL my aryan brothers

  • There was no live evil tour. They broke up during the mixing of the live album.

  • If you saw Sabbath in '82. It was the mob rules tour. The Sab-Cult tour The black and blue tour was 1980. And this is from Nassau colliseum. 1980. It mixes songs between Sab and b.o.c. I have the official japenese vhs tape. Very poorly edited. And only about 45 mins. from each band. Probably why it has yet to be released as dvd.

  • superbo, direi.

  • just listen that fucking voice my god it's so fking rocking awesoooom!!!

  • You know he was just diagnosed with Stomach Cancer, So if you haven't heard him live yet, Do it while he can still sing.

  • @V3xify He's dead now.

  • This is the song heaven&hell. It was released on Japanese vhs. But this was recorded in Long Island N.Y. During 1980s black n blue tour

  • 1982 with blue oyster cult. I saw it at the lebenon valley speedway in upstate ny.Iwas 12

  • I see why you think. This vid is mis-labeled . I just sent a reply but it didn't go through. But this from Nassau colliseum in Long Island. The mob rules tour was '81-82. The Sab.B.o.c tour was 1980. That was called the black and blue tour.

  • Same tour

  • this isnt the same live evil
