  • ROFL "Dumas" XD

Aircraft technicians can have fun too!

  • 1:50 the reverser goes OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

  • Comment removed

  • While working for JAL, at LAX in 1977, I actually witnessed a Mexicana Airlines B727 attempt to take off from runway 25R with the center engine (mounted in the fuselage) thrust reverser deployed! The taco eating pilots rolled about 7,000 feet on the 12,000 foot runway before realizing their EGT was a tint in the RED! Then came reversers on all 3 motors, full flaps, speed brakes, wheel brakes and I think I saw the copilot's feet dragging too, in an attempt to stop the 727, which they just did.

  • @MrRonnieG

    "Taco eating pilots". Haha.

  • Poor Steve he was such a nice inflatable dummy.

  • О боже мой! Они убили Кенни! — Сволочи!

  • funny but the 737-200 sucks

  • @averredude101 you don't know anything about the 737-200 you really need to read more the 737-100 and the 737-200 were the best planes ever built!

  • @Cessna162Skycatcher they actually are an very important role in aviation history but I just don`t like its looks and design, it would look better with CFMs and winglets

  • @averredude101 that do but the 737-100 and the 737-200 were iconic aircrafts because they didn't look like any other aircraft flying at the time and even still today unlike with the aircrafts flying today they look a lot the same

  • They killed Steve...

    The bastards

  • He also failed to point out that you should also never do this while the engine is running.

  • half off price on steve LMAO

  • HAHAHA, LOOOOOOOL!! poor steve xD

  • is it in Canada? lol

  • and now, inspect the "clamshell" and clean off any existing residual blood stains XD

  • steve left an inflatable wife and 2 kids that day

  • these guys have too much free time

  • Walk it off steve... the rest of you get back to work!!

  • mean, mean thing to do to steve lol.

  • QUE PALHAÇADA É ESTA ???

  • Yeah, remember that nutshell thrust reverser! Flew several times in a B737-200... quite rare nowadays!

  • Meanwhile on Air Crash Investigation...

  • i could do this all day!

  • Hahaha 00:13 ! His name is Steve Dumas. Nice way to pronounce Dumb ass

  • at first sight at 0:28 i thought he would bang steve in the machine

  • Is that Sean Kennedy? XD

  • LOL I wanna see what happens if steve sits in the turbine of a TRENT 700 while the engine starts up. even though its a waste of a couple of milion dollars and its alot of irrelevant violence, dont tell me you wouldnt be curious to know what would happen :)

  • are these men or kids

  • I love the old turbines, their reversers are so cool :D

  • Nom-Nom!

  • don't wanna be steve

  • The engine just om nom nommed on Steve! :0

  • Noooo!!!! It ate Steve!!!!!

  • Did you ever see that commercial where a guy's boss is call Dumas, and he kept calling his bos Dumb Ass? So I guess you guys have to re-certify that engine after all these fun and games?

  • @Nomoreidsleft This aircraft no longer flies. It is a training unit now.

  • @pajero146 Should have filled steve with some ketchup for extra gore effects. fould have been even funnier that way. :-D

  • @fxmanaz You put you life in theses "idiots" hands every time you fly. This was done on an aircraft that no longer flies, as a demo to the students to have respect for the thrust reverser system. You sound like bitter and uneducated airline customer, who has no idea about what is required to maintain the aircraft that transports you and your friends to your destinations. Give the kids a break.

  • @fxmanaz Good to see there are still idiots out there that jump to conclusions. This was obviously a classroom setting... I suppose you also thought that the kids in the background work on aircraft as well?

  • @snowbird552 thank you for saying that. At least i dont have to waste time talking to an idiot.

  • @fxmanaz you're an idiot. It's at a training facility.

  • @fxmanaz You just got owned, learn the facts buddy.

  • @fxmanaz lol and you dont have fun moron

  • Next up, Steve carelessly takes a smoke break while standing in a puddle of JetA-1 in the hot afternoon sun.

  • would have been ironic if the steve blew away and the guy got stuck

  • funny

  • good snack for a engine

  • buen ejemplo de seguridad en un taller de mantenimiento ¡¡ pero pobre steve por ke lo maltratan en las reversas jajajajajajaja pero si fuera real no se estarian riendop jajaja !!

  • stupid peolple

  • 12 People are rear turbine inspectors...

  • thrust reversers on a 737-200 what a sight to see!!!(sarcastically)

  • Poor Steve!!!!!

  • 3000 PSI REALY IS NOT TO ANYONE 300 PSI NAO E PARA QUALQUER UM

  • Should have paid that debt Steve

  • I'm sure "Steve" filed a grievance with the union over this harrasment and then sued the company!

  • Is this what aircraft mechanics do all day :)

  • is that the old reverser for a 737-200?

  • @rambocivilairpatrol I think so, the old engine at least (JT8D, right?).

  • @rambocivilairpatrol I think they were refered to as clam-shell reversers.

  • Too bad they didn't start the engine, I'd love to see him melt.

  • Poor Steve !!!!!

  • in memory of steve

  • OVER 9.0000!!!!!!

  • You guys have too much time. TFF.

  • finish him....

    ARGHHHH!!

    FATALITY!

  • @gxz100 Steve vs Reverse Engines. FIGHT!

    FINISH HIM!

    Reverse Engines Wins!

    Flawless Victory!

    Fatality!

  • OMG steve!!

  • so this is how aircraft mechanics repair planes?

  • EPIC PWNED.lol

  • dont stick your face in a jets ass

  • you should start the engine and drop steve into the blades

  • these are the guys who work on the planes we fly in . it's a toy is it.

  • poor Steve!!

  • That could be justin bieber

  • Hi, i am Johnny Knoxville, and this is rear turbine inspection

  • Sounds like the title of some kind of porn

    "Steve and the Thrust Reverser"

  • $10 says there's a geek facebook page dedicated to steve

  • @tradward Of course there is!!

  • what would a mechanic who is checking the rear of the engine do to prevent this? Is there some sort of lock-out tag-out?

  • @FutureMarine246 Yes there is a lock out to prevent this. also you have to actuate the override switches in the cockpit.

  • poor steve!

  • ohh, steve...can you say.....office humor. Oh man, that is so hilarious.

  • omnomnomnomnomonomnom

  • This is how aircraft mechanics haze newbies!

  • 0:53 soo whats the probl-OMFG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

    thrust reverser:MOMOMOM

  • Sucks to be Steve. He got squashed not once, but, eight times. Guess he'll be off work a few days. those guys had way too much fun with this.

  • steve is one lucky dude

  • What camera is this filmed on?

  • so thats how the hydraulics sound like, while the engine is NOT running. thanx for sharing!

  • Lol very funny viedo!

  • ебланы...

  • Wonder what would happened if there was a real person there instead of that fake dummy......!

  • Poor Steve LOL thats Funny

  • that happend when you work for boeing:D

  • amazing those flimsy bits of metal can handle the thrust

  • Was this at a museum ?

  • Except for Purolator's MD-80s and 727s, I think JT8-Ds are getting pretty rare, in N. America anyway.

There must be a proper way to "lock out" the actuators to ensure this never happens. Could you show us that?

Otherwise, I think the students got the message!

  • wat type of airplane is this?

  • @hoyahenrys a Boeing 737-200.

  • @hoyahenrys it is a Boeing 737-200.

  • @hoyahenrys it is a 737-200.

  • It's a Boeing 737-200.

  • STUPID EXPERIMENT

  • if i ever get stuck in a thrust reverser dont let these guys try to get me out. lol

  • nerds having fun

  • yeeeej nerds having fun

  • funny!

  • Poor guy !!!

  • did Steve died?

  • If he gets stuck just ignite the engine

  • "Try CPR or something" haha

  • Where was this?

  • OK. pajero 146

  • OK.

  • ¡ ok ! .

Your death was tragic yet funny, you will be missed :'D

  • LOL :') Poor Steve, next time see how far he flys with the engines on full throttle XD

  • poor steve

  • una buena demostracion para la seguridad de los mecanicos cuando hacen trabajos de mantenimiento. OK.

  • Translation to English: a good demonstration for the security of the mechanics when they do works of maintenance

  • yes it is!! :)))

  • @pajero146 transaltion to Czech: donrá demosntrace bezpečnmsti mechanuků když dělají údržbu

  • @pajero146 I think you did a Direct translation of Seguridad... in English is more like Safety then security. Then just swap "when they do works of Maintenance" for "when they do Maintenance work" or end it at maintenance for short and leave work out of it. Other then that pretty good direct translation.

  • SI LA VERDAD ES QUE SI, YO QUE TRABAJE COMO MECANICO NO ME DARIA GRACIAS VER ALGUN ACCIDENTE DE ESTE TIPO.

  • That kind of thrust reverser is very dangerous and out of date.....

  • hey thats on an older Boeing 737 right? the 100 or 200 model

  • You may think so, but this shows learner mechanics what may happen if they are not careful. These T/R's kill a few people every year.

  • @pajero146 Yep lockout procedures and tags are a must with this sort of thing, My industry (sawmill maint) has seen it's fair share of fatalities due to carelesness.

Like you menitoned! this is a very good demonstration for apprentices. These clamshell T/R's can be deadly

  • @pajero146

as a matter of fact, they do... :(

  • @pajero146

I can understand, But there just having fun.

    999999999999999999999/10

  • @pajero146 Why would somebody deploy TR's while on the ground?

  • Thats an expensive toy. I wanna see it slice a watermelon or something
