I know it seems impressive, but i also play piano and i am 10. So not really impressed here. I just dont have a good camera. I have also composed songs where i sing and play. I am also good at singing :) But i must agree he is good. Wish i had a camera like him and i would be just as good. Only difference is he plays more classical, i am a girl, i am British and i dont have a good camera. But yes, you are very good Ethan.

this is what should be called genius,

great command on his own instrument,

Had a great varied sense of musicality

understand how to play as a band,

He's still very young,yet very gifted

the 'genius' term was used overratedly by today's society,and sometime it overlooked 'real' talented one like this kid,

this kid should be given more chance by media

The only he seems to be missing is experience,

i'm really excited to see what kind of art ,music he would be producing when he was adult,

@y34r Ethan is wonderfully talented, but his musical talent isn't all that rare. His combination of musical talent and stage presence might be unusual for a kid his age, but there are hundreds of kids out there who can play piano better than he. However, most of them are Asian, and when their videos get on YouTube, people often unfairly belittle their performances as the result of forced practice rather than talent. Go to any major piano competition for children and you'll find amazing talent.

@Platyzoan Well,I agreed with you,that by comparision on piano's technical approach,you can find these many genius out there much greater than Ethan,

but I do think differently,on term of genius,I myself defined it more of combining technical sense,varied sense of musicality and Indiviidual charasteristic voice

Horrifyingly,we sometimes like to look at technique as whole picture of music.

@y34r For the children who play well, why does it matter that they were forced or not? Some pianists like Lang Lang were forced to dedicate hours of work, and they still love the instrument.

Of course, there are many pianists who play like automatons with no feeling, and their parents should have let them find something else to do besides piano, but it is frustrating that so many Westerners (I am Euro-American btw) dismiss great Asian talent without listening fairly.

I'm asian myself,also graduated from music conservatory,Alot of my friends are really what i just said to you,esp classical musician

@y34r I don't think being forced to practice is necessarily a bad thing. Lang Lang is great pianist because his father forced him to practice many hours and would beat him for bad performance. You should hear Lang Lang talk about how much he appreciates his father for doing so. Every child is different and such parenting/coaching doesn't work for all children, but for many, it does.

Amazing kid. Although his rock and roll is a bit stiff and his singing might not be the greatest, he is an amazing talent and should be given every opportunity to develop both his talent of music and his talent of showmanship.
