Hands down the coolest and most inspiring RC video I've seen to date. Scratch built no less. You have no need to make sorry for the fact that it is not to scale. It's awesome. I wish more young people were into RC and using their hands for things other than texting and what not. You sir or Madam are an inspiration to people of all ages. Can't wait to see your other videos. Already a fan...
@congocat666 Wow; thanks very much! We're a father-son scale modeling & cinematography team. Please feel free to check out our website (in the description above) to learn more about what we do! Really glad to have you as a follower. Thanks again for the compliment.
@TheBaronDarren Many thanks, but our passion lies in making and filming the boats, then sharing the videos. Selling them would be a big headache and we wouldn't like this "job" as much. :)
I don't know whats cooler. It not flipping over at high speed turns or the fact that from 0:42 - 0:45 it was skipping in the water. 1:06 - 1:10 did you just drift a boat?!?! Nice landing at the end btw.
@theSilverBullet1100 Check out the link in the video description for more info on this vessel - the motor was salvaged from a model airplane, but we don't have the exact model number.
@TARSOUFPA Obrigado! Não podemos dar muitos conselhos sobre a construção desses modelos, porque estamos ocupados demais construindo os novos. Peço desculpas. Se você tiver perguntas específicas, podemos tentar respondê-las. Obrigado por assistir!
@mtblover98 Starting at 0:11 you can see the link (horizontal black bar) between the 2 air rudders move side to side. The servo moves the starboard rudder and the link moves the port rudder with it. There are no underwater rudders, just a flat / slight vee shape at the stern.
@mtblover98 Look at the video once again... Make a hole in each rudder a little bigger than the link you are using, The link could be, say, an old paintbrush or 1/4" dowel, cut it a little longer than the distance between the rudders. Then drill 2 small holes in the dowel near each end pretty close together so you can glue short pins in them (4 pins total). Slide the link / dowel through the rudder holes, insert the 4 pins, and you're done.
Greetings, I am sashman2 and the Yahtzee airboat guy. I would like you to look at my vids and tell me what you think. I am also on facebook as Daniel Oxman. I really love your boats and I also work with brushless motors and lipo batteries..Not easy to make them fly!! Your boat is faster than my Yahtzee II..I'm still trying..I also love taking onboard footage..Take it easy..Dan
Wow dude, this is awesome! I made one with a 3,5cc methanol engine and one rudder a long time ago. It didn't steer too well, and it was top heavy, so it capsized sometimes. That was before I saw this video on how to build a proper one. Keep up the good work, nice boat!
Cool boat!! I wanted to let you know that I've added it to our R/C forum called RadioControlPower . Com. Your welcome to post more videos on our site.
@33funnyguy This was scratch-built from a few varieties of lightweight wood. The engine is from an R/C airplane, and the servos and speed control are off-the-shelf items.

Excellent video man! Looks like that thing can fly! What did you use for the hull?
21freeskier21 1 year ago
@21freeskier21 Thanks! It's just 3/64" plywood glued up over I think 3 bulkheads. Very few curves, so a very easy build.

@21freeskier21 See shadowsail's reply - he's the other half (and chief builder) of Rapidnadion!
