Loved this old sixtys show. Sad thing is I had to see my Grandmother in Polk County to see it. My dad had just retired from the Army at Ft. Benning and Columbus only had 2 t.v stations at the time. CBS had one and ABC and NBC shared one. So The Adams Family was dropped from the line up in Columbus for the other stations show. I know all of the plots by heart now.

@9492180 They had "The News Addams Family" in color sometime in the early 90's. It was not a good idea because it was unsuccessful. The 2 movies with Angelica Houston and Raul Julia were great but the show itself is too old fashioned for today's garbage TV. The original one was the best. What they should have done is had the last season in 1966 in color, I mean other 60's shows went from black and white to color like Bewitched

Wich came first, the Addams Family or The Munsters? Both shows premiered in 1964, and I know The Addams Fam was a cartoon strip back in the 30's before the idea ever came about of them being a family sitcom. These shows are classic though. I like The Addams better than Munsters, but I love em both. I have the box sets. Course, I think the Addams had cooler characters. I mean a living hand and freakishly 7 ft. tall butler...Ted Cassidy was cool.

I think it is good that modern horror/comedy-fans rediscover that the Morticia so many of them want to look like actually - as played by Carolyn Jones - has beautiful feminine forms, instead of looking evil or deathly ill; she's having a good time. I have seen so many becoming anorectic in the search for the "right" look. Sad, really.
