Not bad, I've done 09:28 in my 135i with my wife and two kids in the car (4 and 2) and I am stock.
Problems:
You missed the line an almost every curb, you had music blaring, you had not emptied your car prior to racing, you were getting upset at other drivers.
I'm glad I never met you on the track, with all your distractions I'm surprised you never wrecked.
Oh and if you think I was bad, I NEVER went off the track, NEVER touched another car, NEVER wrecked and I witnessed the aftermath of MANY wrecks on the track, including a brand new 911 GT2 (bounced off both sides of the guardrail), Race Prepared M3 (Slammed head on into guardrail) and many other major and minor accidents.
People just don't get it. The "ring" is classified as public road in German traffic code. If you do anything stupid or damage anything in the track, you can get reckless driving charges and/ or a very expensive price tag. People should enjoy the road, the car, and the driving instead of saying stupid things about speed or time trial.
There are a couple of turns that I never pulled a good line on, but you try to remember the best line around EVERY turn on the Nurburgring with no prior professional experience (even WITH professional experience, it is a huge track)
Oh, I also hadn't had much experience in our 135i which had a much different feel on the track than our 325i which we owned prior to it.
I wish SomebodyStoleMeName hadn't deleted his post, because it was very good.
The can is an empty soda can that I had no where else to put (I couldn't find a RECYCLING container so I threw it in the back seat out of the way).
The music helps me relax and stay focused.
The cupholder was left in place because otherwise that would be rattling around
I did make a few mis-cues in turns (and some of those were turns that I had always taken clean lines through in the past). I was pushing a little too hard because it was my last trip to the ring before I moved.
Look, NONE of you have the right to call this guy a bad driver. There are definitely a couple of hairy moments, granted, but all your doing by calling this guy an amateur is showing the world you've never driven a car on a track like this. ON WINTER TIRES! Now, if he makes a habit of doing this weekly, maybe. But it sounds like this was a once-in-a-while thing. It's not too shabby in that case.
However, I must say something about the music and cans rattling around... indeed bad form.
Yeh, and I can't bear looking at that amateur crap all the way through. Stereo on, garbage rattling aroung in the car... No-one can be blamed for not having the best skills right away or if they aren't experienced but being a slob yank with cupholder at the forefront is unbearable to watch...
No, that is our car. We lived there for almost 3 years and that was our parting gift to ourselves. Right now, it is still on a boat on it's way to the states.
Is this a closed track or a real public road?

Its a public road

Technically, a one-way (mostly) unrestricted toll-road on most days (unless a race or other event is going on)
