The scuttlebutt probably started because the funding for the Ohio was gone before completion, and EB used Michigan charge numbers to finish the job. Just my guess as the origin of the rumor, but I can personally attest that the same hull that began as Ohio was the same as the one commissioned. I was there.

yes, all 4 of the first ohio class bn's became the ssgn's. that's the ohio, michigan, florida and georgia
and if you really want to get technical, the ohio ir really the michigan, look that one up.
