  • who does the sound track for this ad?

  • Blacker blacks, purest whites? Oh God...

  • nice video

  • iphone suck. very expensive in my country. poor hsdpa signal reception, holding the phone in a stupid way just to make call. not worth the price tag.

  • Why C7 doesn't ClearBlack display? only c6-01 and e7

  • lol i like how blacks just get blacker, but whites get purer

  • will N8 have it?

  • @borm91

no.. n8 is older than c6-01 (which is the first to get this technology), neither does c7.

  • Symbian Is like HARLEY DAVIDSON. IOS and Android just like Honda. Symbian have the experience more than other.. I dont care which is faster. But more real life function and Symbian is the BEST Power saving OS.. who care about the entertainment Apps!!

  • the people in the background walk like zombies... :-)

  • I dont know why this ad is made like this cuz every nokia phone comes with light sensor on Top so u can clearly read text under sunlight.

It should be like showing clear type text or the man reading text from far distance ,...

some thing like tht ... :P

  • does the C7 have ClearBlack, and what is the difference in cameras between the N8 and C7, apart from the obvious pixel difference

  • @MrTheErnie the c7's camera has a dual led flash... not a Xenon flash. And the focus is fixed... no autofocus or manual focus... so picsw look blurred

  • @MrTheErnie

I have experience in both C7 and N8 and I can say that the video quality for both is almost the same, but the photos are a lot lot lot better on N8. It's difficult to get sharp photos with C7 (especially inside). The screens look the same, so I don't think C7 has CB display.

  • A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand-sorry chainmail really....

  • @ram1590 dude......

  • @ram1590 ur a dick

  • @ram1590 Faggot

  • Stupid advert, good product.

  • Funny

  • blackberry ftw.

  • let me get this straight, is this just to see why our Nokias sucks? I have the N97 and I cant'n see if I'm under a light bulb... I'm starting to get disapointed with Nokia, there are no big surprises, this should be incorporated to all phones since a very long time ago

  • @cahlitox Yes, just like every other company has these displays that you can read perfectly in sunlight.... Oh wait, they do not.

  • @REICHSKE don't get me wrong. I'm complaining about my nokia, and by the way, I have an iPod Touch, wich uses the same display than the iPhone, and I can perfectly read everything even if I'm Right under the sun at 12:00m... It's the true. I'm pro-Nokia, but I'm really getting tired of it. Sorry If I hurt your feelings

  • Why didn't they put it on my N8? :| I know easy said then done but still, N8's your flagship. It should have CBD before E7 or C6-01.

  • @riddle10293 yep eh nokia n8 have CBD I GO TO BUY THE NOKIA N8 :)

  • clearblack way better than retina..

  • clearblack is way more better than the retina display gimmick... it does provide something useful

  • @cuplajsu yes .. clear black is way brighter and less power taker thn retina. And also adjust the pixels it self

Thts ont of thing tht Apple people are proud on . without knowing the reality

  • @thecolspot remember that even elephant shit is better than crapple

  • I thought this clip is a technical explanation rather than a commercial which in the end I understand nothing ...

  • Too bad N8 does not have that....

  • @6478225 Agreed...

  • anyone heard of retina display? :P

point is nokia is implementing things years behind schedule (at least compared to other companies!). these should have been on those N97s and the X6s! Its time Nokia produced 1 good phone a year instead of millions of unusable phones every month.

  • @TheArnabDas lf nokia is years behind then how come majority of their phones have front cameras years ago?. if they're behind how nokia has 12 mp camera when apple just got up to 5 mp? if they're behind how come they have hdmi out and bluetooth 3.0 on their phone and apple doesnt? and btw "retina display" is apple's bs name of a highly pixelated lcd (LCD IPS) which is even though highly pixelated it is still inferior to amoled let alone super amloed and CBD (which is polarized amoled)

  • @XamuraiOn They mean by Years behind is by OS, not by hardware. The OS of nokia is years behind, even though am a nokia fanboy i admit that they are years behind in terms of OS.

Owhh. by the way nokia is now collaborated with windows phone 7, so it will be a good device.

    Good hardware(like n8) + promising OS = Super phone.

  • @karedward yes and no on the os. yes in that their os is not intuitive as ios or android os but functionality wise symibian still has alot more functionality than other os without "jailbreaking" or rooting it (i.e. built in tether on symbian^3). Its just the OS isn't as polished as the others also Cellphone Services here (t-mobile, atnt, etc.) do not want phones capable of that for free. oh and i know about the nokia and microsoft deal...sorta disappointed bcuz i want to see their meego phone.

  • @XamuraiOn Lol. UI is more important to date. plus, ecosystem.

  • @karedward UI is important to the common consumer yes. but i'm not a common consumer lol. i guess i'm used to symbian so i can't say it is years behind to me. i've used iphone and i disliked it. all my friends who used iphones eventually hacked it so they can root folders n whatnot. the only think that's too late for nokia is making symbian open source. it shouldve been done a long time ago. they're trying to get developers to come back to symbian which seems highly unlikely.

  • @XamuraiOn Symbian is open source, and have been a very very long time :o

  • @NikoliZZer that's what i thought...but then how come they annouced that it was open source when symbian^3 was released?

  • @XamuraiOn they might have thought that developers will find it out themselves, and they don't have to shout about it. though it was undisclosed for a while and they decided to change it open again.

  • @XamuraiOn great job man, those fact and figures blows the shit out of every apple fanboys, well done

  • Woa! This sure is cool ad!

  • This is so cool! Great visuals and music!

  • Excellent :)

  • Nokia, is there any web page where I can download the music you put on your videos? Please answer. Thanks!

  • By the way, great for Nokia to buy AMOLED screens from Samsung, they make the best AMOLED screens. :)

  • its basically just AMOLED.

    Super AMOLED FTW

  • PinkMirrorKirby, OMG. Symbian OS is used already 6-7 years. And THERE were lots of POSSIBILITIES even before iOS existed and Android also. Now they are making new step - more applications (but there are already TONS of them) more visibility, usebility. MORE means MORE, it's not smth new for them. So if u cannot browse Internet for them - it's ur problem. To many ppl are burying Nokia... So funny to read. So lame. Used ANdroid - really piece of ....

  • @sandrew79 Windows Mobile is used more than your Symbian system.

Nokia messed up Symbian by using slow processors on their "flagship" phone (N97) when the Nokia N900 makes a better phone experience than the N97, which uses Maemo, making Symbian the worst mobile OS ever.

And I know not many people liked Android either, but most people do, and it had a brighter future than Symbian.

Nokia should just go with MeeGo instead.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

    > Windows Mobile is used more than your Symbian system.

Tou are an idiot. That's simply bullshit and ridiculous claim. You don't know at all what you are talking about. Windows Mobile's marketshare is today less than 1% Symbian's share is currently something like 35% or more.

  • @miksuh

While Symbian still holds the lead at around 36.6% of the world’s smartphone OS market, it has slipped from an overwhelming 46.6% last year during the third quarter. Meanwhile, Android has skyrocketed, going from 3.5% during Q3 2009 to 25.5% in Q3 2010.

  • @miksuh Research firm GfK reports that in Q3 2010, Android overtook Symbian in Asia.

    Quote:

"Our Q3 report shows that Android has recently overtaken Symbian as the most popular smartphone OS in the context of Asia as a whole, in both value and unit sales. However, it is interesting to note the difference in OS trends when we look at findings in North and Southeast Asia separately."

Search for GFK Symbian Android on Google, you will see the article.

Android overtook Symbian in US & Asia. :)

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

That was before new Symbian ^3 and Nokia's new Nokia N8 were released. In Q3 Nokia did not have new flagship on market, now they do. So situation is not the same as it was in Q3. Currently Nokia N8 is selling huge numbers, there has been reports that it's breaking all past records and Nokia can't ship phones fast enough. Nokia now has also other Symbian ^3 models coming out soon: E7, C7, C6-01, X7

  • @miksuh The reason Symbian remained Number one is because Nokia sells cheap Symbian phones to developing countries.

Android had like over 100 devices, some of them selling in huge numbers, like the Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S, Desire, Desire HD, Wildfire, X8, Droid, G1 etc.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

That's bullshjit. Nokia is selling both expensive and cheap Symbian phones.

  • @miksuh I didn't say they didn't sell expensive phones, but that's how they gain Market share, same as Android releasing budget phones like HTC Wildfire, Samsung Galaxy 580 etc.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

    > I didn't say they didn't sell expensive phones, but that's how they gain Market share,

Yes it is one of those reasons, ofcourse cheap phones is big reason too. Actually Nokia sells every quarter those expensive phones more than next 2 biggest competitors together.. And actually yes you tried to make it look like Nokia sells just cheap phones.

  • @miksuh I didn't try, but most companies sells budget phones to get more market share (except Apple).

Honestly there's too much factor to determine which mobile OS will win, but most likely Android and Symbian will dominate the Market. 30% of Android, 30% of Symbian, rest 40% to multiple OS like iOS, RIM etc.

  • What song is this ?

  • cool...retina ips sucks

  • is that a n79 hes trying to look at at the start ?

  • @vastenmielinen yes its n79 . But i it has no problems with sunlight ...

    though colors get washed

  • nice commercial

  • whatever how great Nokia's hardware is, everything still suck because of Nokia's stubbornness to continue using that crappy, outdated, unresponsive, laggy, fugly Symbian operating system. tsk such a good hardware wasted because of a crappy software.

  • @fixingbraincell

What you say is rubbish. Symbian is wery good OS and it's still most advanced mobile OS there is. And remember that Symbian is going to have completely new Qt based user interface soon.

  • @miksuh when is that "soon" cant Nokia make that sooner?! i mean it has been failing in competition against Apple and Google Android.

what i said is not rubbish, you peasant.

  • @fixingbraincell

Soon means that the new Symbian user interface will be available when it's ready. It was originally planned for Symbian ^4 which was planned to be released in the end of this year,. However plans have changed because Nokia changed the Symbian development and release model to rolling release, read more about that on Wikipedia. We can expect new user interface to be available during Q1 of next year. And most likely Nokia N8 and other Symbian ^3 devices will get it as a upgrade.

  • @fixingbraincell

Well, lets say during Q1 or Q2 of next year because I don't really know exactly. Anyway the new Qt-based Symbian UI is coming soon. And because Nokia switched to Rolling Release model it's wery much likely that curent Symbian ^3 devices will get it as a upgrade. Actually switching to rolling release means that you should not talk about Symbian ^3 or Symbian ^4, etc anymore, because there will not be separate versions anymore, just one continuously improving Symbian.

  • @fixingbraincell

And by the way, this video is about Clear Black screens, not about OS etc.

  • @miksuh yep. thats why i said the screen as a hardware is great. but nokia (the phone used in this advertisement) still uses that crappy symbian as a software, it then tends to pull down the gravity of awesomeness of this clearblack screen.

  • @fixingbraincell

As I said Symbian is not crappy. it's good OS.

  • @miksuh nah im not buying that crap of that crap

  • @fixingbraincell

    Well that's your problem then.

  • @miksuh read my first comment. that's the issue i talked about. dumb.

  • @fixingbraincell

Read my comments to you. I have already said that what you say is not true. And if you are stating to call me dumb then I call you idiot.

  • @miksuh lol you know that dumb is lower than idiot right?! LOL yep, i read your comments and i may say you made a good point. but still, sticking with my own convictions, Symbian should be ruled out of the Smartphone league and not stick it to regular non-colored, non-smart phones. Nokia should use a different OS. Look at Microsoft with its WindowsPhone7 OS, it went flawlessly great. Now, Symbian has failed multiple times. Does Nokia hear the voice of its users?! unfortunately, probably not.

  • @fixingbraincell

Not true. Symbian is smartphone OS and the most advanced smartphone OS there is. Symbian is also still worlds leading smartphone OS, not in the USA but USA is not the whole world. Symbian is not OS for the non-smatphone featurephones, Series 40 is made for those (S40 has nothing to do with Symbian). There is no need for Nokia to use some other OS than Symbian and MeeGo. Symbian and MeeGo will together be wery strong couple. Both use Qt so it's easy to support both with apps.

  • @miksuh well dude, goodluck

  • @miksuh If it is most advanced smartphone OS there is, why are there SO MANY negative comments?

Yes, Symbian is the World's leading smartphone OS, but it is dropping in popularity, Android will catch up soon, and Symbian will fall behind, Samsung, Sony ditched Symbian already.

Nokia should stick with MeeGo and ditch Symbian, MeeGo has more potential than what Symbian can do.

It is a time for new Smartphone OS to step in, and old smartphone OS to step out.

  • Comment removed

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

Ditching Symbian would not make sence for Nokia at all. Symbian and MeeGo complement each other nicely in different smartphone market segments

If some people write negative comments it does not change the fact that Symbian is the currently most advanced smartphone OS. And no Android will not catch up. Android has grown fast but the growth will not continue that fast long anymore. Some companies have already switching from Android to eg. WP7.

  • @miksuh Tell me this, how is Symbian more advanced than any other OS?

Android will catch up, Symbian will fall, as you said some companies are using Windows Phone 7, but they are using Android devices as well, they don't use Symbian, do they? So Symbian will fall behind, that's a fact.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

    > Android will catch up,

    I really don't think so.

    > Symbian will fall

    No it will not.

    > as you said some companies are using Windows Phone 7, but they are using > Android devices as well,

Sure eg.Samsung still makes some Android phones next year, But Android's share of their smartphones will be about 70% smaller in 2011 when compared to 2010.

    > they don't use Symbian, do they?

Actually there is no way you to know that because Symbian improves too.

  • @miksuh Any mobile OS will fall, but Symbian is the first, you can't deny it is dropping while Android is increasing, so is Windows Phone 7.

I don't think it will be 70% less than what it is today if HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung keeps making them.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

Sure Symbian's market share has dropped from it's top numers, but it does not mean Anroid will catch up Symbian. Android's speed of growth will not be that fast long anymore. Most likely in 2011 the speed will be only small fraction of what it was in 2010. The competition will strike Android too and Android's growth will slow down. Eg. Samsung was the biggeest user of Android and now they are mostly Switching to WP7. Symbian's market share is stilll wery high.

  • @miksuh HTC is the biggest user of Android, they created more Android phones than Samsung, there's more companies using Android like HTC, Sony Ericsson, LG, Motorola, Dell, Huawei and much more (unnamed brands in Mainland China etc.)

Android will grow faster than most other mobile OS can, Samsung will realize this when they release the determined Samsung Nexus S, which had specs superior to all the phones in the Market.

Even TVs, tablets, home phones uses Android, do they use WP7, Symbian? No.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

HTC's market share is wery small when compared to Samsung. HTC is not even close to top 4 in market share. HTC is not as important for Android as Samsung is. Sony Ericsson is also quite small and so are rest of those.

    > Android will grow faster than most other mobile OS can,

As I already said to you the speed wont continue that fast. It's easy to get big growth numbers when you start from 0, but after that it is not so easy anymore.

  • Comment removed

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

    > Tell me this, how is Symbian more advanced than any other OS?

That would require too long answer to be written here. I recommend you to learn about the internals of Symbian. I mean learn about the OS, not about the user interface. And I was earlier talking about smartphone operating systems, not any other OS on planet like desktop operating systems. If you want to learn bout the UI too then learn about Qt, but do understand that user interface is not the same as OS.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

Eg. Samsung said awhile ago that atleast 63% of their smartphones released in 2011 will use Windows Phone 7, Eg. Acer also just announced that they are going to switch from Android to WP7. As I said companies are already starting to use other platform than Android. So I really don't think Android will catch up Symbian. Another reason is that all major manufacturers who are going to use Android have already started to use it.

  • @miksuh Symbian is worst that no one is using it compared to Android and Windows Phone 7, HTC makes the most Android phones anyway.

Other companies uses Windows Phone 7 and Android, not Symbian, so Android will be at least over Symbian in market share in about a few years.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

    > Symbian is worst that no one is using it

That's bullshit. Hundreds of millions users use Symbian. Symbian is the most used smartphone OS, not in the USA, but USA is not the whole world.

    > Android will be at least over Symbian in market share in about a few years.

    I really don't think so.

  • but if theres no symbian ,there will never be a true true smartphone OS.

  • @fixingbraincell LMAO. My Nokia N8 works perfectly with Symbian^3. I've tried Android and iOS, but I still perfer Symbian because of the limitless functions and possibilities.

    I love Nokia. They're back!

  • @Renoth well i hope Nokia is really back. thats all, folk

  • @Renoth Symbian ^3 do had more improvements than previous versions, but most developers are opting for Android and iOS so limitless functions are not guaranteed, neither are possibilities.

I'm glad that Nokia is improving, but they should start releasing MeeGo devices as Symbian is not the way to go for Nokia's future.

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

Well Nokia reported awhile ago that during the last year more than 400000 new developers have been registered in Forum Nokia, and Nokia Qt SDK have been downloaded more than 1.5 million times.since it was released last summer. So Actually It is clear that new Qt based Symbian is interesting for the developers, Symbian sure is the way to for Nokia's future and so is MeeGo. Those complement each other and because both use Qt it's easy to support both with apps.

  • @miksuh Registered developers doesn't mean they WILL develop them nor how mcuh did Nokia's SDK downloaded will mean anything about developing apps for Symbian.

I still think MeeGo should be Nokia's TOP priority instead of Symbian.

  • Comment removed

  • @PinkMirrorKirby

Ofcourse not every one of those will develop new apps, but 400000 new developers and 1.5 million Nokia Qt SDK downloads are so big numbers that you really can't ignore those unless you are really stupid.- You don't want to admit that developers are interested in Qt based Symbian. I am one of those developers who are started to use Qt during the last year and I am targeting Symbian and MeeGo. I also spend lots of my time in developer communities so I know what people think.

  • @miksuh Yes, it is a impressive number, that doesn't mean Symbian is the best.

None of the mobile OS is the best. All have pros and cons.

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL !!!

  • @qwertyryedsf Agree, very cool)))))))))))

  • =D

  • Screw that iPhone ad music, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!

  • @Arthetzki

may be Iphone is great>>> but if U notice with the same price nokia give u 5MP camera and front one and GPS>> while Iphone costs U with lower specs>>regards

  • Comment removed

  • 5 Iphone fans :-))

  • beautiful ad :D

    where's the music from? :3

  • 0:57 Her Ass Is So Flat She Can Shit Laying Down :D

  • After ARMIN VAN BUUREN and NOKIA, there is some Trance sound on there ads

    TRANCE and NOKIA Forever!!!!!!

  • @cupraddict What song is this?

  • They should put CBD displays (or Super AMOLED) on all phones. No LCDs anymore, it's old tech that looks washed out. There's no reason to use LCDs. They have inferior colours, contrast and blacks compared to AMOLED, which happens to consume less power as a bonus.

  • @RichardCamellion well, Nokia Phones from now with AMOLED+CBD

  • @keal5528 Not all of the Nokia phones, maybe all phones after N8 may have the CBD.

  • It sound like they are referring to people: blacker blacks and purer whites

  • Nokia's ads are always amazing, I love it ^^

  • I wish they can share this feature through updates for the other phones. And the sun has always been there, why design a reflection-proof display just NOW??

  • nice aplift trance)

  • LOL..AMOLED on my android does just that Nokia..try harder

  • @Rydahshit Unless you mean Super AMOLED that can actually compete CBD. AMOLED is different.

btw, you fanboy, can't you just stop promoting your OS everywhere?? This is about display not OS not brand!! Your so-called superior AMOLED can be use in any OS, not just Android, even a feature phone can use AMOLED display!

  • The name of the track please, somebody?

  • What is the name of the track pleaseeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

    Loving the ad.

  • I want this track on mp3!

  • @mrsonysun Your comment is old "fashined"..

  • @mrsonysun

I have nokia (5800XM) and I'm happy with it because of their Ovi maps.

Nokia is the only one that offers free GPS nav on Ovi Maps :)

  • None of these new inventions matter if Meego sucks

  • camera without autofocus... shame nokia...

  • @CaptainUkraine EDOF as used in some of Nokia's new phones .. its pretty much always in focus. A Perfect technology for "snap shots". Its not a "shame" its a great technique for providing amateur photographers with an instant quality photo. If you want a camera-phone with autofocus get an N8 .. there is NO better camera-phone on the market.

  • @CaptainUkraine You won't have out of focus shots with that one. It's great for stupid users. And there's a lot of them, specially in USA. And it's really fast, you just press the camera trigger and you already have the photo.

  • that blue eyes are the important stuff in this video jajajajja xD

  • song?

  • N8 did??

  • @tsaikamho520 no, as far as i know

  • @tsaikamho520 N8's display is just a better AMOLED, not CBD.

  • @modernkoro i don't n8 screen is beauty ( TAT~

  • The idea for the ad is cool and all but... you know.. the girl is ugly as hell

  • copied from Super AMOLED... can't they be original? And Super AMOLED can do it even better!!!

  • @bilacola Yeah, and samsung copied the "wireless phone" idea from nokia, too. Come on.

  • @Rafaelinux Nope. All brands did.

  • @bilacola Everybody gets ideas from the rest. (Nokia Nav/Communicator series with touch screen and gps back in the 00's). It's the way the industry works.

  • @bilacola pfft. have you not seen..

  • if u like thus give thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, it's likely to be a Samsung amoled :)

  • Comment removed

  • wow... eso si tengo que verlo..

  • it's better than the super amoled in one thing colors !! other than that the super amoled is slightly better which makes this the second best display !! congrats nokia :D !! check out the comparison of all displays at gsmarena.com !!

  • Super AMOLEDs, Super LCDs, Retina Displays, ClearBlacks... :P

  • Blacker blacks ?

    Purest whites?

    Brighter colors?

    Better battery life ?

    Super Amoled ^^

  • @liomessibarca10

next year for nokia i hope but nokia was smart and ordered a shit load of >AMOLED screen before they went into low production
