I absolutely love Asian horror movies but I am completely on the same page as you on this one, I didn't like Shutter at all. I didn't find myself really very scared either. I haven't seen the remake but I'm sure it's worth a laugh, one of the only remakes I thought was okay recently was The Uninvited. While it's not nearly as good as its original, A Tale of Two Sisters, it was a lesser of some evils out there. Good review.
@esovae I really liked REC. It took a little while to get going but once it got good there was no turning back!!! I never saw its sequel, or the sequels remake, and I read recently that there is a third one in the works which means I have a little catching up to do :)
@AsianHorrorFanVids Actually, I have only seen REC, I don't think I even saw the original Quarantine, definitely not the second one either, it's probably not an absolutely terrible remake since I read somewhere it was pretty much a shot for shot remake. If it ain't broken don't fix it I suppose :|

u thought 'the descent' was scary?? that movie sucked. but yeah i agree they should stop remaking asian horror films, it doesn't work with westerners for some reason. if you're going to watch, watch the originals. i love the thai version of 'shutter', and the scaiest movie i've ever seen is 'ju-on', the japanese version. 'the grudge' is terrible.
i thought the ending on this movie was a good twist! i personally never thought she'd be sitting on him the whole time xD i agree with the polariod part where it was pitch black. that was totally insane and i liked it. otherwise, i thought the idea was unoriginal (we've seen a blond stuck in japan before: the grudge)and the scare tactics were unoriginal, most of them following either the grudge 1 or 2 or the ring. the car crash in the beginning was over done too. i laughed really bad at that.
i also thought it was funny how this ghost seemed only to want to fuck the guy. hahaha. first, she tries to get him while he's sleeping and his wife is RIGHT next to him, and then she gives him probably the deepest french kiss anyone has ever seen! (a totally gross one at that..) i told my dad that you must be pretty special to get raped by a ghost. xD

After she kissed him he had slime gurgling out of his mouth and the wife started yelling at the ghost girl when she woke up and found her husband choking on slimy ghost spit.
sorry for the third comment, but i also want to point out something else i liked. i really liked how the pictures formed like a flip book to show where the ghost was headed. i don't know why but i thought that was cool...

shutter original was amazing! i dont know why your saying its bad cuz it was really cool. but i definetly agree on you when you said ppl shouldnt remake the movies. the original movie usually is the best, by remaking it, your just ruining a original masterpeice!!
