Currently Mitsubishi "Grandis" user, and considering Outlander for next car since our kids have been grown up. However, if Outlander will take this ugly design, I will NOT buy it.
Why Mitsubishi design is not smart. Exceptionally, current Outlander is good design and I do not want Mitsubishi to change the design with this ugly one. If Outlander will be with that ugly style, I will not take it for my next car.
Why? Since the new one has been released, I've done several comparisons between it and the Outlander...in almost every category the Outlander trumps the Forrester. The features don't even compre...I bought an Outlander.
Other than the vaguely similiar grill this car in no way resemble's audi's q series. And by similar the only thing they have in common is being oversized - The outlanders grill is a direct descendant from that of the Lancer. Other than having a necessary bumper running through the middle and being placed on the front of the car you'd have to be crazy to mistake this vehicle one of audi's. Also can you blame Mitsu for wanting to change the look so that no one mistakes it for a subaru??? Nope
(Talking about the original 2nd Gen Outlander) compare the profiles of each, The Outlander you see here, other than the new front fascia, has been out since 2005. Subaru just came up with their updated forester in 2008
lycia, please share the information behind your comparison. to best honest, they seem more on par in terms of features but the outlander's poor offroad (as an CSUV should have some capability for) performance makes me think that there's not much trumping here. the outlander definitely has more of the on-road comforts like better interior finish and electronics. perhaps you have been comparing to the base forester?
This reminds me of what honda did on their CRV when the redesigned rolled 2007. Mitsu should have left that EVOish
profile to the EVO-Lancer coz that is distinct, but now they made a look alike instead of a real improvement to the current Outlander. I don't really get. I think this is a result when u run out of idea. They should leave the Lancer-Evo alone, no more confused look-alike, OH MY GOD !
outlander ralliart is more powerful

The forester designers ripped of the Outlander SO bad...

you could also argue that the outlander ripped off the audi family should you decide to be more observant

Hmmm. The look doesn't sit right with me either and I like the Outlander.
I think the under skin improvements sound interesting. As long as that doesn't mean it turns into a Mazda CX-5 with no off road capability.
