I have ati and nvidia and I still prefer nvidia. Ati is horrific with drivers and you can fry an egg on the card it get too hot.

Can ATI explain why their drivers are so horrific? Surely if their cards are SO much better than nVidia, they can write better software. Not to mention the amount that Catalyst slows down a computer.

Ati drivers are awful? I've had nVidia up until now, and I've had SEVERAL issues with drivers, such as the inability to reinstall physx without reinstalling windows, self installing drivers after clean uninstalling and some other minor problems. Now I got 2 6950's in crossfire, and I have absolutely NO problem with either the cards or drivers. And since when does Catalyst slow down yur computer? Sure,it eats up resources, just like any other software, but it's barely noticeable

Actually it is.

Circut board enters assembly line, solder paste it applied to the board through a sheet metal stencil that puts the paste on all of the pads, moves down the line to the HSP machine that places the majority of the components onto the board, moves down the line into the oven that bakes the solder paste to melt it down, moves along to an area to cool, then in some cases put through a board wash that cleans the finished product of flux and contaminants.

The first number indicates which series the card belongs to (2000, 3000, 4000 etc.) Followed by:

X300 basic

X600 mid range

X800 high end
