  • @nelson4568

No, they went auto because the first year challengers only came with an auto. And by the way, that orange 70 challenger Jay pulled up in; has a manual transmission in it.

  • Comment removed

  • the 70 is so nicer...

  • Comment removed

  • seriously? this faggot got an automatic?

  • @TheVjay86 There were no manual transmission challengers in 2008, they didnt have the manual until 2009

  • @TheVjay86

    What do you drive?

  • made in brampton!

  • I love how the technicians are telling Jay how the car works, Dumbass did you see what he pulled up in? Im pretty sure he does not need to be informed

  • @derfusskonig

Ass munch? Lol, what are you so hostile for?

  • @derfusskonig Look at my comment now back to yours...Now back to mine now back to yours? What do you see?Do you see me saying im getting a classic car? No!i said im getting the new one.And my parents are buying me the car but if you stopped trolling maybe you could actually make some friends which dont really count since you didnt meet them in real life first...Your the only one in here that doesnt have a life because your TROLLING when no one was talking to your monkey looking ass

    STUPID TROLL!!!

  • 2:35

  • I have one, these cars are freaking sweet.

  • Press 8 and wait.....

Jay Leno Impression is awesome at 2:37 LOL

  • How much do these go for?

  • Well, when the Challenger first came out they didn't have any manual version, IIRC. It wasn't until a few months later or maybe even the next model year that the manual came out, I believe.

  • I'm a european snob disliking everything american, but on the other hand just secretly loving these outrageous, primitive cars. When this greyhaired man arrived in he's 70' car it just made my fly hard:-) It's just that fascinating. WHAT A MACHINE! Europeans at that time were driving small p**ss cars with 1,3 litres motors. And still do:-( pssss

  • The guys all sign the first car and he gives a half ass "cool". Two yuppie baby boomer douches takeing delivery of two yuppie plastic douchemobiles. A great old name on a modern piece of shit. And about that bailout. Hey, Chrysler. FUCK YOU.

  • p.o.s. it's heavy, can't handle...

  • @petakills11 Did u watch this video just to make that comment?

  • @xsteelerfan63x.. Did u watch the superbowl just to watch your team choke?

  • Jay didn't get the manual... What a letdown.

  • @MMAKICKS You are right!

  • @MMAKICKS

    The autos are actually faster

  • @MMAKICKS he couldn't the first ones where all auto.

  • @MMAKICKS Unfortunately they didn't give them manual transmissions for 2008.

  • @MMAKICKS there were no manuals when the 2008 challenger came out. the manual started in 2009

  • @MMAKICKS why should you care? it's his.

  • @awesometutorials101 well I have more thumbs up than you buddy. :)

  • @MMAKICKS I don't care.:)

  • @awesometutorials101 obviously you did care. 438 comments and you decided to pick me to troll on? Why do you care about my comment? It's mine. Go on you Internet Troll!

  • @MMAKICKS I think your taking this out of proportion but w/e

  • The new Challengers have a great retro look and lots of power, but they're just too damn big and heavy for my taste. 4100 to 4200lbs... my God. Plus they're about the same size as a 4-door Charger or Chrysler 300, being based on the same platform. I'd like one, but only if it was scaled-down 15 to 20 percent. The old ones were smaller and lighter by a decent margin.

  • @hartsickdisciple The new SRT's have the 392 in them. Now that's worth buying.

  • @dodge69874

Yep and I did... And I've been grinning ear to ear ever since :)

  • still get an orignal.

  • 1:10 hey look - it's one of the cars that got destroyed twice in the original "Gone in 60 seconds"!!

  • @batvette the camaro hit the road after the mustang in 1967 and the challenger 1970 where r u getting your info from out your ass

  • Jackson helped propel the hobby out of the reach of the average guy, hope he grenades the motor.

  • lol Jay seems ALOT more excited and entertained. Hes a cool guy, would be awsome to meet him someday

  • craig jackson=scumbag

  • i thout leno was gunna smoke em wen he stoped at the end

  • Poor guy can't take a dump without 10 cameras pointed at him. Life must suck.

  • LOL at 2:38

  • Leno got an automatic?

  • @tandre1 The first year Challengers (2008) were all automatic srt-8's. Leno had no choice

  • Hey Leno your late so you get car #2 off the assembly line.

  • challenger > camaro

  • too bad the new challenger dosen't come in right hand drive

  • Too bad the new Challenger doesent come with the old challengers sound

  • @ladabyturbo

I think that Leno's Chally sounds BADASS!

  • i LOVE how he came to pick up his new skool challenger in his old skool challenger. Good man! i'd love to meet jay, he;s such a car guy! :D i'd probably faint over seeing his car collection as to just how much money and beautiful engeneering i'd be looking at.

  • leno got an automatic what a fool, the manual is faster hands down

  • @gregorymarak im pretty sure if he wanted to he could just go right back in and buy a manual...

  • @gregorymarak its an 2008, he wanted one of the first 3 so it could be worth more down the road, and he has 125 more cars, so im sure one auto isnt going tohurt

  • I'll take the 1970 challenger over the new one any day

  • @cmwilson1973 i'll take a new challenger sell it and buy a 1970 challenger and have extra money to fix it up :D

  • @cmwilson1973 thats cuz it costs 6 times more :) I agree tho

  • @cmwilson1973 Why? the new one looks, accelerates ,handles, and brakes better!

  • @cmwilson1973 me too!

  • @cmwilson1973 bull...

  • @cmwilson1973 Same here im about to start driving in 2 years and i thouht about it hard..I decided i want the new one...Sadly th3e old ones arent in much good condition and alomost everyone you find you have to rebuild...You have to fix the rusted parts etc..etc...I rather et the new one...BTW i hate the new charger...Its a good car but it shouldnt have been called the charger...69 charger FTW

  • @cmwilson1973 thats how i feal to older the better less plastic and more muscle car love the old stuff anyone can sighn a line to buy a new one but truth be known the older ones worth four times as much and a work of art in my book

  • he should have gotten the new one in orange to match his odler one. oh well

  • Not even a manual?

  • Interesting. That appeared to be a "LAW" contract Jay was signing. That is a generic form used in the auto business as the contract for loans at banks that do not have their own specific loan paperwork. Why would Jay finance it???

  • @snowman44077 I paid cash for a new car in Calif some years ago & one has to fill out the same contract. I'm sure Jay paid cash.

  • Its a shame that for 2008 you could not get a manual or the track pack with the tighter steering ratio. That would have silenced a lot of the handling complaints the reviewers had.

  • i.

    want.

    one.

  • Black is such a good color

  • junk

  • I like Jay Leno. He is one of us.

  • is that leno's car

  • you could see when they are lined up that the old model had much more quality and details.

  • Screw the new. It's pretty and all, but give me that tomato soup orange '69 challenger that Jay drove in! Holy ravioli, I nearly wet myself, it's so beautiful.

  • @Mogomezu i agree with everything you said, except that 1970 was the first year for challenger. not trying to be an ass in correcting you, just thought you should know.

  • @Mogomezu It's a 70, they never made a 69 and it's not tomato soup red, it's Tor Red.

  • I would like to be a Tv Celeb like Leno, no for fans or shows, only for be a Old & New Cars Fan Lover!

  • Who is Craig Jackson?

  • How could 13 people not like this

  • whats the retail on the challengers and do they come with manual trannys?

  • @kpgpwi64 yes, the Challenger comes in a 6-speed manual configuration - or auto with an "auto stick" semi-manual shifter. The V-8 Challengers run from around $30k to around $43k or so.

  • rich basterd :)

  • im a huge mustang guy but i always loved how the challenger looked and sounded

  • was lenos an automatic//?

  • Wow... listen to that purr at 1:20

  • get a wind sock you faggot

  • Looks like a pimps dream car

  • it's still not as sporty as the mustang or the camaro.

  • no matter what i'd reather have the 70 challenger then any new muscle car

  • @ioriorioriorio why is it up to him to do anything?

  • That...i like.

  • Yaaah read it over then go into your pockets and pull out 40,000 cash like nothing chump change to multi millionares..Its sad when your making more money then god little do you apreciate what you have..

  • I want to see his car collection

  • Big Valley Dodge I live in the san fernando valley and live like 10 miles from there how come no one told me Leno and Jackson would be there lol. I picked up a 1972 challenger the guy wanted $1300 for it but i handed him $1150 for it! MOPAR or NoCar!!

  • jay leno collects alot of cars

  • What car doesnt Leno have?

  • A Volvo 240 :D

  • I would love to meet Jay Leno. Not because he's a celeb, but because he's a car guy. Every time I see video of the guy he's in that same raggady blue shirt looking like he's been tinkering in his garage all day. I know that's what I'd be doing if I had his garage and money.

  • @ChargerHemi29 you know what youre right. he IS always wearing that damn blue shirt

  • @ChargerHemi29 I'm from London, but the last time I was in Los Angeles Jay Leno drove past me in one of his open-top cars =)

  • @ChargerHemi29, he used to be a mechanic, so he does work on most of his cars. I would love to meet him for the same reason as you do, he loves cars. If I had his money id do the same thing.

  • @ChargerHemi29 I hear ya there! When I meet celebs from the film & music industry, if I know they are into cars, that's what I talk. I was in Santa Monica recently, and a certain movie star was being bothered by reporters and I walked over to him and said: "The question I have for you is, how do you like mid-60's ford trucks?" The guy was totally jazzed to chat about old trucks. We had coffee for the next 45 minutes and it was all vintage cars & trucks talk, great!

  • @ChargerHemi29 With a bit of old fashioned elbow grease and dedicated hard work... The sky is the limit! I find it to be really nice to meeting a fellow gearhead... I am more passionate towards computers so I would most likely be found behind a computer screen rather than under an engine bay. However, I love mopar! I'm driving a 2.7 liter 2008 Charger... I know it's small displacement, but the engine is built like a tank! Dodge has really stepped up their game within the last half decade.

  • @ChargerHemi29 Gilligan and Skipper only wore one shirt as well. Somehow I just see Jay on these same terms :) What I think is cool about the guy is that he knows his cars, how to enjoy them, and brings them out once in awhile for others to check out and enjoy as well.

  • @dolphinsattack Yeah I'm sure they'll get right on that. Just for you.

  • hypocrite? Dude! Hes a car collector!

  • I remember these cars when they were new in the early 70s. They looked really cool but had the lousiest, cheapest, plastic interiors you will ever see

  • very nice car

  • jay leno has saved alot of sweet cars so id say the good outweighs the bad

  • to dolph: LOL yeah, but he can only drive one of his 150 cars at a time....its not like they are all pumping gas fumes all at once all day.

  • @dolphinsattack He has numerous electric cars dude. Do yourself a favor in the future. Do the research before you make yourself look stupid

  • @dolphinsattack actually, NBC is promoting hybrids on his show, it's not like he begged NBC to let him do a segment of people racing focus hybrids. And he has a very diverse car collection. Not all are gas guzzlers, nor is it his fault that classic cars get terrible mileage. Car collectors collect many types of cars, including classics, not just new 30+ mpg compacts.

  • nothing beats old school muscle cars !

  • Jay whats with the denim look all the time ?

  • its because he is a moron

  • The mustang and challenger makes the new camaro look ridiculous.

  • what? its that why the camaro its out perfoming and out selling both?

  • It is a new fad, the 2011 v6 mustang with the new 307 hp engine will put the cheesy camaro in it`s place.

  • @79274333 ridiculously awesome

  • @1000hpHONDA If you are 12 and like the transformers movie.

  • Im all about dodge but when it comes to mustangs, I'd rather take a camaro.

  • @79274333 ya the camaro looks like shit once again that car never has looked good since the 70's and late 60's of course

  • @av3nged112 I am getting a 2011 mustang v6, it has over 300hp twin exhaust and has the power of the old v8 but with a much lighter front end and costs @$23,000 and easier on gas than the 2010 v6 with the 100hp less engine, all in all the best muscle car deal out there.

  • @79274333 although i do like the 2k2 models with the different headlights

  • @79274333 That's hilarious. IMO, most will disagree...new camaros appearing on the street outnumber the other two easily from what I've seen....The new Camaro is gonna save Chevrolet...Like Chrysler's minimvan. Imo, their technology and appearance is dated. The styling of the challenger is for our time like the 'new' tbird was for its time. Also, the challengers I've seen in person have had much more orange peel than what jackson and leno received.

  • @Shovelbreaker New camaro looks nice, but its utter crap.

If it stays in your garage, then thumbs up, just don't take it out on the road.

  • @79274333 I love how those cars look!! I cant stand anything generic!! Would take one of those over any boring Japanese or German sedan. Most cars just don't have the same passion that these do!!!

  • @brentsrx7 That1a why I just got a '95 T-Bird.

  • @79274333..The camaro out sold both the mustang and challenger!!!!!

  • @willsco76 people like bubble gum too

  • @79274333 While the Mustang and Challenger both hit the road first, the Camaro is much more agressive looking. The challenger really fails in its body style, it sits far too high, too narrow, compared to the Camaro. All are far too heavy and bulky to reinvent the wheel of the genre, there is no reason for any of them to be a pound over about 3200. Silly Detroit tanks again, now that gas prices have gone up. "Sell to the masses, live with the classes. Sell to the classes, live with the masses".

  • @batvette i heard the challengers dont even have an lsd option so there open wheelers i was pretty disapointed when i heard that sure i expect that in 1970 but not in 2008....my supras 20 years old has an lsd as standard... :/ and i agree with you the old challengers look tough and sharp and wide but the new model just looks like a coupe charger and there not exactly great looking. the camaro is a better car even though i hate chevs.

  • @willsco76 Yeah I'm sure the V6 models did because everyone was still in love with it because it was in Transformers

  • The Black is awesome! I hope Jay didn't trade in his 1970 Challenger for the new one?

  • Trade it in? Are you serious? LOL. Yeah the millionaire is going to trade in his 70 Challenger that's worth big bucks on a new one. Get off the pipe dude it's making you stupid

  • MOPAR 4 LIFE!

  • 3:37 WTF !!?

  • I love how Jay is careful with his cars... If it was one of those nascar drivers picking up the first available challengers they would of probably burned those tires on the way out till about the middle of the street..

  • older challenger is sooooo much nicer

  • i wish the makers of my 2009 caravan sxt put there names on it so i could go over there and shove my car back up there ass. my my gig broken aand u know what dodge says bring it back when it freezes. how am i supposed to know when it freezes. next the pinging sound ive taken it to many dealers and they all say its normal, do youre self a favor and dont buy this shit

  • caravans are shit .. my mother owned one , pure trash. my aunt owned one, same thing. Cant keep a front end on them and they break down like crazy.

  • i know. weve been loyal to dodge for to longnmy loyalty is over with this car. fuck chrysler

  • 2:37, LOL WTF?!

  • Bought a black SE and put SRT9 wheels on it. All the fun without the sticker shock

  • or the speed.

  • Dual Magnaflow Catback...Close to 300 hp, Its got plenty.

  • 425 at the wheels on the car you're trying to pose as. Look man, go big or go home. we know your SE only has 250.

  • Oh i forgot. Its paid in full too! lol

  • Good. That way you won't be still paying it off when you lose it pink slipping against the real deal.

  • 20,000.00 more for two pistons? Ive already won. ahahaha

  • two more pistons, 175 horsepower, a much better level of standard equipment, a lot more aftermarket support, speed, and the abilty to look in the mirror without feeling great shame for being a poser.

You're 43, it's clear you're having a mid life crisis, so you bought something you think will make you look cool, but with a miserly engine because you're still boring enough to care about gas mileage. I bet its an automatic too, you're no different from the V6 auto mustang posers.

  • And like the prototype, it doesnt have that rediculous wing in the back. That is just ugly! ahahaah

  • Okay, Uhh I actually think you might be a little high right now. Go drink some milk to bring your ass back down here, then we'll talk.

  • My mistake. 25,000.00 more OTD for two pistons. And no lifetime warrantee on the powertrain. Ya real smart! lol

  • you care about the Lifetime warrantee? Shit, that proves you're nothing but a mid life crisis loser. Never fake the funk, remember to be yourself or you might find yourself by yourself, and that's no fun.

  • Your such an idiot! EOM

  • You've completely ran out of reasonable things to say, So I win. Enjoy your slow ass PLC that you think is fast because you upgraded from a minivan, and remember : Next time, pick the V8 option.

  • Yes I went your route and picked a unreasonable thing to say. Heres another one. You obviously are contemplating a V8 to compensate for your small manhood and your lack of performance in the bedroom with your erectile disfunction. Although you might be a man lover. Its not our fault your father beat you as a child. Coutry bumpkin jackass! lol

  • Except I looked at your age in your profile, your car, what you try to make it look like, and the cultural phenomenon of the "mid-life crisis" to make the most logical assumption about you and your life. Judging by your reaction, I was most likely correct.

And I choose the V8 because I know the point of the car is to drive as fast as possible, get into races, do cool burnouts that set the road on fire, and blast heavy metal. Picking the slow version means you can't use the car properly.

  • Judjing by your response. My last response was spot on. lol And to digress and not to be so mean.... My other car has a hemi ...ahahaha

  • Are you drunk? Your replies are becoming more and more nonsensical, with punctuation that's getting even worse. Is this actually your dad's account?

  • I didnt know we were being judged on punctuation (period) You dont know when to stay down do you(period) Are you ready for more (question mark). So am I having a mid life crisis or am I a pimple face juvie? Make up your mind mann!!! You cant tell your ass from your elbow can you. We all know you have small man penis syndrom. Get over it! LOL

  • Well up until your seventh post, All the evidence pointed to a balding middle aged man, after that it went to either drug addicted middle aged man, ten year old, or mental defective. Actually, Now that I read the stuff on your user page more clearly, I think you definitely have a mental illness.

  • Well you have reinforced my conclusion. That you are a godless bastard. Anyone who thinks having material items makes them a better person has some serious growing up to do. And obviously you had or have some drug issues and are probably the balding middle aged man that you claim I am. The more you speak, the more I realize im speaking to a coward. Can you take that hemi with you when you die? I would love to see that trick GROW UP! Im done with you.

  • Comment removed

  • Yep, you definitely need help.

I don't care about the material items, I care about the intent behind owning them. You want to show off without anything to back it up. I want a fast car so I can use it for the intended purpose: going fast. Shit, give me a Lada and an old 302 from a junkyard, I'm happy either way.

I'd reply to the rest of your post but it doesn't make all that much sense.

  • damn jay leno is fucken lucky to have them cars!
