Sort of like iron was invented over 1000 years ago, but it took a while to use it to make a train. The whole point we were trying to make is that it isn't a good idea to poke at people over small superficial imperfections. It alienates everyone around you and can undermine your own confidence after a while.

i love this song and the video and the cd. a lot of people didn't get olivia newton john at this point in her career. they wanted her to still be singing physical and tunes from grease. they just didn't understand that she was trying to evolve as an artist. soulkiss...the title alone gets two snaps in z formation...there's nothing better than giving someone you love a soulkiss from the heart...nobody even says that anymore...soulkiss...what a great way to describe a truly breathtaking kiss.

the soul kiss is the best cd in my entire music collection. It is so under rated. I was hoping for a HDCD, DVD-AUDIO and/or a SACD version of this album but it never came about. Still waiting tho...
To appreciate the dynamic range of this CD, i upgraded my audio equipments: amp, preamp, cd player, speakers, just for this purpose (450 wpc rms) ONJ earlier works were also great and loved but i believe SK album really tested ONJ vocal range & audio work to the fullest.
The perfect anthem for Valentine's Day each February 14. I really loved it. I was 18 years old when "Soul Kiss" was played on the radio. Great memories from mid-'80s. Thanks for posting it.

When she left we all laughed at her because of her behavior which was horrible. I think ONJ was really upset because no one knew or cared who she was. First impressions are forever! i love this song and the video and the cd. a lot of people didn't get olivia newton john at this point in her career. they wanted her to still be singing physical and tunes from grease. they just didn't understand that she was trying to evolve as an artist. soulkiss...the title alone gets two snaps in z formation...there's nothing better than giving someone you love a soulkiss from the heart...nobody even says that anymore...soulkiss...what a great way to describe a truly breathtaking kiss.

@petercox9 as Much as I LOVE olivia I have to disagree with you, She wasnt at this point trying to evolve as an artist, She was trying to Compete with an industry that was getting more and more sexual, and really thats not her. I call this her madonna phase and I am glad she got out of it. and went back to being true to herself.

@madonnaman9 I know what you're trying to say but I wouldn't exactly compare Olivia to Madonna. Madonna thrived on being controversial & shocking people. Olivia on the other hand (or her record company) were just trying to make her a bit more sexy to sell more records. Even so, she never got people talking like Madonna did. But as you say, it really wasn't necessary cuz Olivia was already plenty sexy before this. Albeit, in a more wholesome way.

I don't care how old she has gotten- she is STILL one of the world's most beautiful women! Not saying that I'm her biggest fan- but, I DID get my Grandparents to take me to one of her first concerts,(I was 14) and I have flown accross the country, more than once, to see her!

Although not was a huge hit, I love that song from the lovely Olivia.
The song became her last Top 40 hit in USA, made it the # 20 on the Billboard Charts in 1985.

@imachildofthe80s8089 Yep Olivia was one of the working women back in the day. Her career seemed to slow down once she had a child, but that happens to most female singers once they have children which is understandable. They want to take more time to be with t heir children.

@DaveWollenberg And from what I heard of a former deejay her last song to chart on billboard! She ran a succession of hits as far back as 1971. She also had another album in 1988 with "The Rumor" and she revived her "I Honestly Love You" song with none other than Babyface in 1997.

the soul kiss is the best cd in my entire music collection. It is so under rated. I was hoping for a HDCD, DVD-AUDIO and/or a SACD version of this album but it never came about. Still waiting tho...
To appreciate the dynamic range of this CD, i upgraded my audio equipments: amp, preamp, cd player, speakers, just for this purpose (450 wpc rms) ONJ earlier works were also great and loved but i believe SK album really tested ONJ vocal range & audio work to the fullest.

The perfect anthem for Valentine's Day each February 14. I really loved it. I was 18 years old when "Soul Kiss" was played on the radio. Great memories from mid-'80s. Thanks for posting it.
