I mean ok, I could see someone without any background in aviation creating a single prop basic plane... but a lightweight helicopter, I mean the technicality behind the stabilizers, rotors, and dimensions for the blades versus weight to length... This is truly an astonishing acheivement. The power to weight ratio is incredible and his collective pitch authority is amazing! I Even sounds like he has some sort of governor device built in. Obviously it would have to be copied from a kit like the mosquito, but it does look quite different in design. Amazing!

@superducky2250 Not all helicopters use jet (turbine) engines. The entire Robinson series uses internal combustion gasoline engines.. the R-22, R44 etc. The R-22 is one of the most widly used trainers today.

the man flying it is Chen Zhao Rong a poor farmer with only a primary school education who had always dreamed of flying.

he made and welded all the body parts himself, checking his design against photos on the internet and bought a second hand motor. overall the cost amounted to about RMB70,000 (less than US10,000)

if you notice the buildings , thats chinese aptment sttle and family homers in a rural area , this is what you would call the poor in china , and its not as bad as people here think , i know i have lived in several areas of china, those houses most likey have computers and internet in them , everyone has a cell phone, , the power bill for an area like this monthly for a home there is 3-6 usd a month , this is really china, alot of people a college educated even in these areas

I was being sarcastic lol. We have so many chinese shops here selling everything and anything for small change, $2 shop, 1-2-3 dollar shoppe, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if this turned up in one.
