Federal income tax is not needed to do the things you say. Fed income tax didnt exist before ww1. Free market can fix everything actually. healthcare is a mixed thing. depends on your views. if everyone worked, everyone could have healthcare but, the govt taking it over, it wont work. I agree I think. Capitalism is human nature, you can't go against it. But as harsh as it is, exploiting other people is also part of human nature, and I think there should be laws preventing that. I am in favor of small government, I think the free market should handle most things, but some basic things should be taken care of by the gov in my opinion. When the U.S. congress gets it that one: lower taxes on businesses and people, we will prosper, 2: stop spending so much on people who make little money and let charity do its work. When you take money up front from people, they will spend less on the products and services that pay for many, many other jobs. When people make more, they are more generous with their money to help people. They should not be forced as it is now.

Costco's John Singleton has been running his company like that for years, and its worked out very well for him and his employees. Same can be said for Whole Foods. Varney can be a prick sometimes (he's pretty rude to Schiff), but he's got a point here. The guy's an academic. You can write 30 volumes on business relations by watching others, but when you actually sit in the saddle, it's completely different; there's a huge difference between reading books and DOING it. There's a lot of nitty gritty small things you have to do inbetween. It's easier said than done to go with the grind with 100% composure non-stop, too.

Federal income tax is not needed to do the things you say. Fed income tax didnt exist before ww1. Free market can fix everything actually. healthcare is a mixed thing. depends on your views. if everyone worked, everyone could have healthcare but, the govt taking it over, it wont work. Its not the 'tribal leaders' that works well with successful companies. It is the 80/20 rule. 20% of the people do 80% of the work. Companies do well despite today's management and not because of it. This is very true with manufacturing. This is also the reason banks fail as there are not many services and products bank has to offer and when the economy contracts, they will fail due to thier stupid loan practices that started with the Carter admin and pushed by Acorn.

I constantly have heated debates with my economics professor becuase he also lives to much in theoryland. This idea of following certain guidelines to success is BS. If you want the economy to recover, let the people keep their money and do away with giving tax money to people that dont work and are able but refuse and keep having kids as a means of getting tax money through tax credits when they didnt have any taxes due at the end of the year. I have more than a clue as to how the different economies work. the problem is, most just take one or two aspects of how they work and try to argue it based on those and not as a whole.

You don't mind paying taxes so the government can have roads built, or defend the country.. Universal health care is just another one of those basic things. The US is the only modern, Western country, where people still die because they are denied coverage. That's not cool.

I agree I think. Capitalism is human nature, you can't go against it. But as harsh as it is, exploiting other people is also part of human nature, and I think there should be laws preventing that. I am in favor of small government, I think the free market should handle most things, but some basic things should be taken care of by the gov in my opinion. And indeed, that stuff should be clear, and not a giant ununderstandable machine.

a college professor graded his class based on the fundamentals of socialism. The class failed because the hard working people were brought down by the lazy people. Business is no different. to prove a point, many people making just over the 250k threshold are taking a pay cut so their taxes wont go up. Less individual pay means less taxes collected. It has everything to do with taxes. when people spend by borrowing, you deflate worth of money cause you are having to pay interest on it. Inflation is never good. If you raise taxes just cause you want to bring in more money and yet, the money you are bringing in is worth less cause it was borrowed money to begin with, you have just made it worse. You have no clue about finance and money and worth. What Obama and congress is wanting to do is terrible for the economy.

Most major business succeed due to good workers who make good decisions on the work floor and not at meetings. Varney is correct, people work hard based on rewards of doing so. This is how the U.S. has become so successful. The economy is in shambles due to the government trying to run things instead of letting free markets and capitalism work.

very much so. Common sense goes a long way on making good decisions. When the U.S. congress gets it that one: lower taxes on businesses and people, we will prosper, 2: stop spending so much on people who make little money and let charity do its work. When you take money up front from people, they will spend less on the products and services that pay for many, many other jobs. When people make more, they are more generous with their money to help people. They should not be forced as it is now.

Who go schooled? It seemed like a jovial disagreement to me. The professor is wrong. Touchy feely is BS. Nobody wants to work in teams. Comittees suck, meetings suck, nothing gets done. Succesful businesses have strong leaders who make decisions. They really need to change the title of this video.

It was a little too tense to be an amiable disagreement but it wasn't outright hostile and no one got "schooled". The title and video description make the author(s) look petty. As for the actual interview, Stuart made a good point even if he was somewhat overzealous.

Who in the fuck is this Stuart Varney, and what is up with journalism? Todays news reporters especially on Fox are really pissing me off! This Varney is worse than O'Reilley. It's almost like exaggerated comic book drama come to life. It's like watching Running Man or some similar B movie villianry. This just goes to show that Fox is NOT news.
