Russia fought with Japanese troops a few days before Japan surrender just to take over the entire Russian Far East, which was lost to Japan during Russian-Japanese war. As recent as 1912, the end of Qing Dynasty (or Manchu Dynasty), China map goes as far as Hunan Island and does not include South China Sea. In 1949, when the communists won over China, that was when the China dogs began to expand by redrawing its map to include South China Sea. The solution to this dispute is the 1982 International Law of the Sea: coastal rights = 12 miles from coast, Economic Zone rights = 200 miles from coast. Anything else is international waters. If you say Mongols had almost all of Euroasia, then Vietnam certainly deserves soveignty in these islands as the major victories against Mongols started in Tran Dynasty of Vietnam. Tang and Han Dynasty did come but they always got their asses kicked, and Viets always had their own emperors. Don't read CCP history

@VN808 In WWII, the US started to aid China when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor,before that China has fought for 4 years without any help. Russia fought with Japanese troops a few days before Japan surrender just to take over the entire Russian Far East, which was lost to Japan during Russian-Japanese war. At least China helped Vietnam purely because of the shared communist beliefs and spirit of comrades, not because China has anything to do with the French or the Americans.
