  • could you yank 350 and put 4.0l back in I would

  • if u don't mind me asking...how much did the swap cost you from start to finish?

  • The rear are stock and the front has been trimmed to be flat and the fender is trimmed to be flat. Altered stock.

  • what kind of fender flares you got?

  • @RCbuilder92 he has stock fenders he just trimed his front ones up

  • you know thats illegal right?lol

  • Cute

  • i want that jeep...but in white!

  • what do you get for fuel mileage since you put a 350 in it ? im looking at getting a jeep with a 350 but wasnt sure what the fuel mileage would be .

  • @DieselProductionz85 When I first purchased this TJ I drove it from Wichita, Ks to Colorado and back. The trip is right around 1000 miles (won't do that again) and the times I checked it out on the road I got just less then 11 MPG That's running 37" tires, 4.88 gears and a 3 speed turbo 350. Big change if you happen to have a turbo 400 (4 speed) or different gears.

Around town I don't know and don't really want to know. I love the sound it makes so I seam to always have my foot in it.

    Have Fun

  • @57geronimo ??? the th400 is a 3 speed. you mean 700r4/4l60e? thats what im planning on doing. atm im running 2.73 and th350 and gonna switch to 3.73 and 700r4. nearly twice the torque and slightly better economy

  • @DieselProductionz85 If I make any changes to the motor it will be a TBI out of a early 90's. I suggest a 5.3L or 6.0L with EFI, parts are cheap and all over the place.

I will eventually by a 1 ton 4x4 Chevy with a Dana 60 front, 14" rear and a 6.0L motor, but that will be when I cut the fenders and go serious. We can only play around at this time.

  • @57geronimo Okay, so im going to buy a 2000 jeep wrangler. And i want to sound and look mean, and be mean. I want it to be for off road. with like 37'' Any idea of how much it might cost please help me out!

  • @DieselProductionz85 who cares! You don't get a Jeep in the first place let alone one with a V8

  • hey, how hard was it for you to get the 350 to work in the end? how much $ did it cost? how long did it take?

  • @deanschool Sorry, I purchased it with the swap already completed. I suggest a 5.3 or 6.0 chevy or of corse a 5.7 dodge would be great. Motor swap is above my pay grade so I would have someone else do the work.

Fuel injection, TBI or TPI is the way I would go now.

    Good luck.

  • What wheels/tires you have? Brand/size

  • @Dodgeoffroadfreak Hey! Not sure of the brand of the wheels but they look like Crager steel and running Goodyear MTR's 37" 12.5" x 15".

  • @Dodgeoffroadfreak Hey! Not sure of the brand of the wheels but they look like Crager steel and running Goodyear MTR's 37" 12.5" x 15".

  • @57geronimo that jeep looks mean.

  • If i got a mechanic to do it do you think they would? and if so im guessing it would cost over all just in labor like 1000 rite?

  • @tperson787 $1000 could be 14 labor hours. Which part do you want done? Motor or rubicon express or all?

  • How much do you think over all you have spent on the jeep?

  • All aftermarket parts may be $5000 plus the time to install them.

  • duuudddeee that sounds like a freaking beast! what did yall add to it? like to make it sound sooo meannnn i like the looks too!

  • @SuperDwang The 350 is lightly built but the sounds come from the gear to gear timing gears, headers and the flowmaster 44's. Thanks for the compliments. I hope to change out the cam some day and get a little more lope to it.

  • @57geronimo ohhh flowmasters 44s good? im thinking about adding a snorkel kits and a muffler kit but not sure what to get lol. man i want mine to sound like this x]

  • Install a solid gear to gear for the timing gear and you'll get a super charger sound. That is the whistling sound

  • it's a Cheep!

  • sorry if someone allready asked in previous comments but does the 350 bolt right in to the mounts or does their have to be modifications

  • @dshaw103 Not sure if I replies so here I go! When I bought my jeep I was looking to purchase it with a V8 and did so. I was not lucky enough to experience the install. V8 kits out there (4WD, Quadratec). I suggest a 5.3L or 6.0L with EFI, parts are cheap and all over the place. I will eventually by a 4x4 Chevy with a Dana 60, 14" and a 6.0L motor, but that will be when I cut the fenders and go serious. We can only play around at this time. Thanks for the questions.

  • jeep tough with chevy stuff

  • @chevytough1112 lol i saw a ford race car with a chevy engine once and said built ford tough with chevy parts and i have a sticker that says you have 2 be tough to be stupid so thats wut i say 2 fords

  • When I bought my jeep I was looking to purchase it with a V8 and did so. I was not lucky enough to experience the install. V8 kits out there (4WD, Quadratec). My Jeep has a 1978 truck 350 and an Edelbrock carb and Turbo 350 trans.

  • how much was it a pain in the ass to get the 350 into your tj? is a carburated enigine or the fuel injection? i have the dana 60 and gm 14 bolt just sittin at my house waitin to go under my jeep. following that with a 350 and a sm465 manual and a dana 300 t-case with a set of 38" tsl's fully locked and doulble triangualted 4link rear triangulated front geared 5.38. just tryin to found out how hard it was to put the 350 in and talk jeep to someone

  • fagalis?

  • hey what kind of rear end do you have? and what kind of rear gears do you have?

and what kind of transmission do you have?

i have a 350 in my jeep its at stock height right now but im lifting it with 33s im trying to figure out what rear end, gear combo to put in.

  • The TJ has a ford 8.8 rear (disc brakes) running a 488 gear and a ARB air locker.

The transmission is a chevy 350, 3 speed automatic.

Suggestions or what I would if I change things out; Put in a 4 speed automatic transmission like a R700 or a 4l60e or a 4l80e for the highway.

As for the rear end; if you have a dana 44, you could stay with that.

My dream is buying a 4 wheel drive chevy 3/4 ton and transfer the Dana 60 and 14 bolt rear end and extend the wheel base.

    Have fun with it. Later

  • right now i have n ax15 five speed it holds up pretty nice now, but when the lift goes on im not too sure. you think itll hold?

btw have you changed your drive shaft from stock?

  • Really don't know the transmission. I know there are plenty of jeeps that run the trails with the manual transmission.

Since I raised it 4 1/2" with a Rubicon Express 4 link and an additional 1" body lift.

  • sick ride

  • Thanks! It's a blast and it get a few compliments also.

  • my dad has an 82 cj7 with a 4 inch suspen. and a 2 inch body lift with 35 inch tires it has an amc 304 its a real fun truck. ur jeep has a great color combo black and yellow. u take it off road?

  • Yes we take off road, but not to extreme. Getting off road or trail riding is a great time. Check out 57Geronimo on YouTube. Thanks

  • was it hard to do the swap i have the same jeep and am thinking of doing the swap but want to know any tips and tricks you may have learned along the way ?

  • When I bought my jeep I was looking to purchase it with a V8 and did so I was not lucky enough to experience the install. After working on it and doing the research I found that there are a lot of V8 kits out there (4WD, Quadratec). My Jeep is a 1978 truck 350. I would suggest going with a 5.3 L with EFI, or a 5.7 Hemi out of a dodge. 5.3 L Chevy parts are cheap and all over the place.

  • thanks for the info, im lookin to find one already done to and do a trade theres one on kijiji its a little older it has a 327 vet engine in it but has 290xxxkm has a decent lift in it but hes asking like 13,500 witch i think is a little high

thanks for your help tho man

nice jeep by the way looks good

    cheers

  • Hey i have a 2000 sport 4.0 I6 and i want to put a 1 inch. body lift on it.. if i do so will i need to install the motor mount lift also?

  • Sorry, I'm not able to help with the answer. Did it come with the lift kit, if so I would use it. I'm not sure why you would have to lift the motor for a body lift kit.

  • ok thats just what a few people had told me..

  • I was thinking of doing a chevy 350 swap for my TJ. But i now my heart is set on a 4BT.

  • What is a 4BT?

If I was to install a different motor I would consider a 4.0 strocker motor (it's something like 4.6L).

If I went with a V8 it would be a 5.3L chevy or 5.7L Hemi.

  • 4BT is a cummins. 4cyl turbo. lots of torque and good fuel economy for des.

  • damn it, all i want is a 350 but nooo i was lied to and found out its only a 305. fml

  • Go with a 5.3 L with EFI, I run an Edlebrock and sometimes it has a hard time with steep hills up or down. Could use a little adjusting to.

  • If all the dodge engines disappeared, then and only then would I put a chevy engine in a jeep. The 350 small block is good shit, but its not the best. Mopar for life.

  • long arms look great, awesome jeep

  • fuck hemis! dropping a chevy 345 smallblock in a jeep is the shit!

  • a chevy 350 V8?! that is an insult! it should have a hemi.

  • should have a 454

  • Dream Car!

    haha.

  • i think you have to change the drive shafts and im sure the wiring is going to be different for the sensor, injection etc

  • hi, i am planning on putting a 350 chevy in my jeep wrangler. it is a 97 with a 4 banger in it right now. i know that i need to get the adapter kit which has everything including the radiator and a new transmission and engine, and is there anything else i need? and what should i know whhen doing it?

  • nice

  • géniale le son du moteur !! :))

  • Type in 57geronimo and find additional videos. As soon and the weather clears here in Kansas I will make a new video with better exhaust sound and maybe some hot rodding.

  • Ohh nice man I liked to see more videos of fthe rig...

  • Now that is a V8! Sounds great. Lets see it in 4 wheel drive and do it in the dirt. Too cool,

  • check out the jeep on my page its got a big block cheve 468,i ton 44 super swampers detroit lockers and lots of more goodies

  • did you do all the work your self or is it shop done or bought done?

  • When I was looking for a Jeep I only looked for a TJ with a V8 and an automatic. I bought the Jeep with the equipment installed by the owner before the lastowner. It has an Edelbrock carburetor but wish it was fuel injection or throttle body injection.

The wiring is probably the big deal for me. I am sure Painless or other custom wire harness companies could make you something for a decent cost. The guys that did this Jeep should have done that to clean the Jeep wiring up a little.

  • wow, that would be cool if Chrysler would put chevy 350 4 bolt main with a 6 speed transmission in it. It would be a good one. I have to agree that 4 cylinder engine are somewhat okay, parts are getting harder to come by. I have made a huge mistake, I should have gotten a chevy or a GMC pickup. they are interchangeable.

  • yes thats how you do it. yellow jeepers!

  • Thanks for the comments! We need to install ARB air lockers in the front but I'm thinking I should ad a Dana 44 and ARB's. The 350 cu. in. really gets attention. I am working on another video of the Jeep, motor and Kruzn down the road.

  • hehehee... the drive by!!! :)

but seriously, that is sweet looking jeep...

    how does it work??
