I'm italian, and putting olive oil in the boiling water is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Please Gordon, go back cooking scrambled eggs and bacon.
He puts salt before the water is boiling? And don't waste olive oil in the water like that, use vegetable oil in the water, and then it's ok to use olive oil when the pasta is drained.
Olive Oil is healthy ..There are many ways of cooking methods, techniques, Mr Gordon Ramsay Shares his own knowledge to everyone to learn those other people, don't know how to cook. But obviously those other viewers is too criticizer, its not bad to criticize something BUT---->>> Remember THERE ARE MANY WAYS OF COOKING METHODs OR TECHNIQUEs in the kitchen.Yeah Gordon Ramsay is a Bastard in kitchen but seriously he's helping others to learn and to gain more knowledge.=D
@iSubmission haha already like butter with meat .. no wonder that every season is getting fat ;) Genuine dishes are not only with the products of the season, but also with what we put inside
Ferjvi:Fill the pot with water, put a little 'heavy with salt and let it boil, then throw the pasta and raise the flame until it boils even at low heat. (The water should always boil) aspects that pasta is cooked, the levi and put olive oil to prevent sticking and sharing how you want
Gordon you are crazy!! I'm Italian from Tuscany and pasta is not cooked in this way...olive oil in water? 0__0 ok it's American cooking, but..the olive oil before and after, what is it?
@sweenywaiting90 Excuse me? "American cooking?" I'm American, and I don't cook with oil in my water. Gordon is some English/Scottish bastardization. How can he possibly represent American cooking? Get lost.
Hm, I'm not sure about adding oil to the boiling water... I used to add olive oil to the water, or to pasta after cooking, but then a good friend of mine noticed oil has better capillarity (not sure if I translated that right) then pretty much anything - so if you add it before the sauce, it will stick in the tiny pores in the pasta, thus preventing the sauce to combine with it. I know Mr.Ramsay is probably right, but I would still go with no oil in the water... unless really bad pasta.
A great chef doesn't need oil to stop your pasta from sticking together.. The key is proper heat, and cooking it to al-dente. Gordon Ramsay is a tool.. Hell Ronald MacDonald is a better chef than he is..
hahhaha are you serious!
