What people who did not live in this era often miss; is that true metal/Hard Rock songs were rarely given any radio airplay in the US, especially in the South. So, when an album of that genre went Gold or Platinum, it was truly a big deal, as most record sales in those genres were based on word of mouth.

This video is infamous for being banned from MTV, because of the hypnosis thing. One of Joe Lynn Turner led Rainbow's best. He would later re-record this for his Solo album Undercover.

@DBMalone Actually it was originally banned because ronniejamesdio had sued richard blackmore, saying blackmore had copied the song from dio's song "Steal the Elves" when dio fronted an unknowm band called ELF. Blackmore eventually overcame the lawsuit and the song then began playing on mtv. Incidentally, dio later performed this song with R.Blackmore as during a fund raiser for Bill Clinton's campaign.
