Can the pokemon evolve.? I have the demo and really enjoy it. But 1500 points is just a little to much for running around button mashing. But I love pokemon and I love collecting them.
It is a fun game its just it lacks in level design and number of pokemon if the game had more then 6 repeating levels and more than two regions of pokemon I think it would have been better

But gameplay-wise, this IS the Halo equivalent of Pokemon. Content-wise, it's, well...there's nothing really to compare it to, because I can't think of many other games that are this short.
I'm disappointed towards whoever developed this pile of crap. It's like taking CoD4, and dumbing it down so that it plays like Halo, only lasts 3 1/2 hours, and has no competitive multiplayer.

The only one I've played is Emerald on the GBA, and I thought it was pretty good. However, I didn't like having to use different pokemon in each battle to gain experience evenly.
Gold And Silver were my faves, then Blue And Red. Ruby And Saphire put me off them and were the last one I played. They just seemed to be the first 2 mixed. So if you'd never played them, it'd probably be a great game.

I thought that this game was a heap of garbage. The only reason that it sells is because it uses the Pokemon license. You can slap "Pokemon" onto ANY game, and expect it to sell.
This game contains the laziest level designs that I have ever seen. It's sad that game developers can do this, & make tons of money off of games that take little to no effort to make. This would be okay if the game was, like, $5, but $15? For a WiiWare game, that's very expensive. I could get World of Goo for that much.

I preferred Ninty during th e90's and I'm 23, I've been gaming since 2. No lie, Green Beret and Combat School on the ZX Spectrum rocked!
And I agree it's a family console, but I've never wanted to play games with my gran, but even then, when she played, she played SFII on the SNES.
But I've played all of the big hitters and I've had more than 90 Wii games and I've enjoyed maybe 10 and kept 5. I really do hate the Wii and think it's the worst machine I've ever owned.

Because honestly, take away VC games, I've not found a single Wii game challenging and only few Wii Ware games.
As for this, it's like all Nintendo games, no difficulty level just Nintendo's difficulty level. And it does get harder when you get to the higher tears, but not hard enough IMO.

Honestly bud, reviews lie, I swear down I'm sick to death of reviews claiming difficulty and then you just don't get it.
It's as if all these professionals are getting bribed or something to make the damned system look hard. Like if you read most Mario Galaxy reviews you'll see them say "first 60 stars are easy, second 60 are hard". Yet if you ask most gamers, they'll say "10-15 were hard".
Unfortunatly though it all spans down to personal experience and the only way to tell for sure if to try it.
However, I can at least offer 2 bits advice.
The first is a question.
Do you like motion controls? Because most games use them solely. There are so many big titles that don't use pad support.
The second is, when you say you like a challenge, do you mean games like Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Ghouls 'N' Ghosts etc... Because if so, I doubt you'll find much challenging on the Wii.
@DEIVION212 Lol ya that's true.. ya I've played Wii a few times and I love motion controls as opposed to just sitting down and using my 360 controller - it seemed to have added more realism when I was trying to shoot a bow and arrow, for example.

Well I myself hate pretty much every Wii game, including Brawl and Kart, I think there the 2 worst games in there series'. I've had over 90 games bud and I still own 6 and 1 I'm forced to keep (Wii Sports) and you'll notice a theme here, but the games I've kept are Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles, Dead Space Extraction and Battalion Wars 2.
So that's 3 light gun games, a sequel to an NGC game I liked and Resi 4, which I don't even like, lol.
So asking me about good games is no good I'm afraid, because I really do hate the machine. It's been the worst console I've ever had, if it wasn't for the VC I would've sold it after my first month of owning it. But the VC provides cheap old games without huge storage space needed for each individual console.
There's a few good Wii Ware games, but even then compared to the Live Arcade and PSN, you won't find anything special.
i think there r 256 or 265. i caught all of them. the game is ok. i wish they should level up. cuz i waste releasing so many pokemon. and i wish the teach moves, you could go like into a category of the type of pokemon move u want. i waste so much coins.
I've just totally gone off the Pokemon games like that, there's only so much a man can catch, rank up and fight for no reason. Because story wise, they might as well be phoning it in now, it's just generic as hell.
And I find it so boring being shit, to being great. Because that is basically every game "you're shit, you have no badges" to "you're great, you have every badge".
But I've not enjoyed a main pokemon game since Gold and Silver came out on the GBC, I just think they're too samey now and I'm sick of catching everything again, lol.

What i would say is horrible, is that after about a day, youll find very very repetitive play of going over previously done levels to find money, as you spend a lot of moeny on things you don't want - i.e. buying moves on a random moves generator.. Um okey, a lot of people criticise the controls / variety of pokemon. This game offers the 151 form 1st Gen. and 199(?) from 4th generation, basically all form 1st and 4th generations.. The ctonrols arefixable and you can use any other wii controller if you fiddle about it a bit in the in game options, as a control stick beats directional pad. I find the clincher to this game for me is the variety of moves available.. Idk what it is,, but is very addictive for other pokemaniacs ;D
You Start off with the first 150 but once u get past MewTwo and beat the battle royale on Rank S u can collect the other pokemon from diamond and pearl
It's a tricky process, first you have to get a friend, then give him a pad/Wiimote and both play together.
It's something that I know is hard in these days hence why so many devs focus on online play and remove the local multiplayer, but when it can be done, it's magic :)

nice review. Just so you know, the wii mote transfer thing is so you can assign a pokemon to a wii mote and take the wii mote to a friends house, and use the pokemon you assigned on their wii. I'm not a big fan of pokemon but this is still a fun game i bought.

When switch the Wii on, there's a channel that says "shop".
You go there, add Wii points via a credit card (If you don't have VISA or Mastercard then you need to buy points from a game shop) and then you search for Pokemon.
@o0oxxl You download it by going to WiiWare in the Shop channel. But the price tag is hefty, 1,500 Wii Points... That's the same as 15 dollars. The demo is still available, but I don't know how much longer. Both versions are listed under Newest Additions.
I disagree. Yes, it may be on the tad easy side, but in my oppinion, TP is the best game of all time. I got it when I got my Wii, and loved every minute of it!
But for me difficulty is about 50% of the fun, if I don't find it difficult I don't feel like I've acomplished anything or I don't feel that it's memorable or anything else that I consider important to great games.
So I ended off disliking it. It's a shame as the controls were amazing and so were some of the new gameplay elements.
I just wish it was harder, but then again, I find that with 99% of Wii games, that I wish they were harder :(
Incase you still want to know, at the moment only Generation 1 (Red Blue and Yellow) and Generation 4 (Diamond Pearl Platinum) are in the game, some think generation 2 and 3 will be released in an expansion when the Gold and silver remakes come out, but I personally doubt it.
And for the DS debate, I personally disagree, I'd say the DS is a very strong system in terms of game library, but we all have our opinions :)
chronno trigger? you called it 6th best game of all time, didn't that come after ecclesia, or maybe GTA Chinatown wars or Zelda Spirit tracks, I appreciate good games don't come out every day but I couldn't afford them if they came out too often anyway, and I could argue quality over quantity but w/e.
Speaking of chrono trigger, what console did you play it on, or was it a rom? since the SNES and PS1 versions didn't come out in europe ;)
And while I agree quality over quantity, I don't think the DS has had both for the last 3 years.
It had 2 amazing years where I thought it was the best handheld ever, then it dropped in both quality and quantity and now it's turned into a big waste of time if you're a hardcore gamer, or in other words, a handheld Wii.
Whereas the PSP had 2 bad years and then bam, game after game after game.
Like Motorstorm, Resistance, GTACW enhanced, Locoroco 2, Patapon 2, Soul Calibur, God Of War etc...
I would hardly class PH as terrible, though I call it one of the worst zelda games, but I love most of them XD
but I do need to ask, why does change have to be a bad thing? in all honesty the only major thing they did was retranslate the script, the other DS exclusive stuff is optional (thank god, it's not very good I'll admit). But look at Metroid ZM or Megaman Maverick hunter X, the originals are considered classics, but the remakes are better. All I'm saying is change isn't always bad :)
Watch the original versions of IV, V and VI then the remakes.

When it comes to classics, you don't fuck with them. Classics are classic for a reason, you don't put arms on the Venus De Milo and say "There, it's better now".
I did enjoy ZM but only because I hated the original. Megaman though, I didn't enjoy MHX at all. Powered Up, I enjoyed the 2 new bosses.
well, I might aswell point out you put Super mario allstars in your top games too, which had different physics, and the gamecube remake of resident evil, which changed quite a lot :p
And I see your point with star wars but at the same time I feel people make too big of a deal about it, in all honesty, I feel arguing over even the larger points like the greedo scene a bit much.

Maybe that's the main difference between you and me, though I certainly enjoy a good challenge in games, that is not the deciding factor for me, it's whether I'm enjoying myself while I'm playing it, whether it's hard or not. I've played and beaten many hard games, the megaman series are among my all time favourites games, but as are a lot of the zelda and pokémon games, if I'm having a blast while playing them, I'd call that enjoying them and I certainly wouldn't call that a disappoinment.
That's the thing, I don't enjoy easy games at all. If I don't get challenged I don't care about the game or anything.
If I beat the game without dieing once (TP ) I'll get to the end &think it's been a huge waste of (50 hours) my life & then never play it again.
I don't see why Nintendo REFUSE to put difficulty settings in there main games.
If Zelda just had a VERY HARD mode then none of this would matter. But by continuing to only make easy games they're buring bridges that they can't undo.
My theory is that they can't do demo's, so they're having to put up the full game and then lock it, which might be why they're bigger, because they'll have the lock software.
And I reckon hackers will figure it out and get full games for free.
As if they don't already with that awful homebrew hack, piracy kills small devs, it really does.

Well this is just your usual hack and slash, it's like how all shmups are almost identicle, I play them because of there simplicity.
FPS' however, I want games like Half Life or Perfect Dark everytime. Unless they are designed solely for mindless shooting like Serious Sam.
Everyone knew fine well when it came out what it would be, it didn't try to trick you by making you think it was deep.

You can only collect the Kanto and Sinnoh Pokemon in this game. So add the sinnoh pokemon to kanto pokemon and you have your total.

@Oscar000011 IT IS! And as of right now, it is the most expensive cost of Wii Points to buy on the Wii Shop Channel.
For instance, if you were to redeem a Nintendo Points Card for 2,000 points and you bought Pokémon Rumble, you'd be left with only 500 Wii Points.

You can put a pokemon on your remote and take it to another friends house (if they have Pokemon Rumble) and use that pokemon there.
You can also do that with Miis.

Darn youtube comment limit. What i would say is horrible, is that after about a day, youll find very very repetitive play of going over previously done levels to find money, as you spend a lot of moeny on things you don't want - i.e. buying moves on a random moves generator.. Which annoys the crap out of me.. Just little annoying aspects to this game, you may also want to consider otherwise.. Worth the 12 quid or something i spent on it (:

Um okey, a lot of people criticise the controls / variety of pokemon. This game offers the 151 form 1st Gen. and 199(?) from 4th generation, basically all form 1st and 4th generations.. The ctonrols arefixable and you can use any other wii controller if you fiddle about it a bit in the in game options, as a control stick beats directional pad. I find the clincher to this game for me is the variety of moves available.. Idk what it is,, but is very addictive for other pokemaniacs ;D

It's a tricky process, first you have to get a friend, then give him a pad/Wiimote and both play together.
It's something that I know is hard in these days hence why so many devs focus on online play and remove the local multiplayer, but when it can be done, it's magic :)

nice review. Just so you know, the wii mote transfer thing is so you can assign a pokemon to a wii mote and take the wii mote to a friends house, and use the pokemon you assigned on their wii. I'm not a big fan of pokemon but this is still a fun game i bought.

When switch the Wii on, there's a channel that says "shop".
You go there, add Wii points via a credit card (If you don't have VISA or Mastercard then you need to buy points from a game shop) and then you search for Pokemon.

@o0oxxl You download it by going to WiiWare in the Shop channel. But the price tag is hefty, 1,500 Wii Points... That's the same as 15 dollars. The demo is still available, but I don't know how much longer. Both versions are listed under Newest Additions.

I disagree. Yes, it may be on the tad easy side, but in my oppinion, TP is the best game of all time. I got it when I got my Wii, and loved every minute of it!

But for me difficulty is about 50% of the fun, if I don't find it difficult I don't feel like I've acomplished anything or I don't feel that it's memorable or anything else that I consider important to great games.
So I ended off disliking it. It's a shame as the controls were amazing and so were some of the new gameplay elements.
I just wish it was harder, but then again, I find that with 99% of Wii games, that I wish they were harder :(

Incase you still want to know, at the moment only Generation 1 (Red Blue and Yellow) and Generation 4 (Diamond Pearl Platinum) are in the game, some think generation 2 and 3 will be released in an expansion when the Gold and silver remakes come out, but I personally doubt it.
And for the DS debate, I personally disagree, I'd say the DS is a very strong system in terms of game library, but we all have our opinions :)

chronno trigger? you called it 6th best game of all time, didn't that come after ecclesia, or maybe GTA Chinatown wars or Zelda Spirit tracks, I appreciate good games don't come out every day but I couldn't afford them if they came out too often anyway, and I could argue quality over quantity but w/e.
Speaking of chrono trigger, what console did you play it on, or was it a rom? since the SNES and PS1 versions didn't come out in europe ;)

I said the SNES version was the 6th best, the DS version IMO was crap because they changed bits, and you don't mess with the classics. Simple as.
GTA Chinatown looked great, but the PSP version is better as it has extra missions and other bits, so it's a poor version of a great game.
Zelda PH was terrible and I think Spirit looks just as bad from everything I've seen of it, it looks like PH with a Train and even weaker puzzles.
Imported a SNES cart from NA :)

And while I agree quality over quantity, I don't think the DS has had both for the last 3 years.
It had 2 amazing years where I thought it was the best handheld ever, then it dropped in both quality and quantity and now it's turned into a big waste of time if you're a hardcore gamer, or in other words, a handheld Wii.
Whereas the PSP had 2 bad years and then bam, game after game after game.
Like Motorstorm, Resistance, GTACW enhanced, Locoroco 2, Patapon 2, Soul Calibur, God Of War etc...

I would hardly class PH as terrible, though I call it one of the worst zelda games, but I love most of them XD
but I do need to ask, why does change have to be a bad thing? in all honesty the only major thing they did was retranslate the script, the other DS exclusive stuff is optional (thank god, it's not very good I'll admit). But look at Metroid ZM or Megaman Maverick hunter X, the originals are considered classics, but the remakes are better. All I'm saying is change isn't always bad :)

Watch the original versions of IV, V and VI then the remakes.
I hate the remakes, and all they done was change the scripts and edit visuals too.
When it comes to classics, you don't fuck with them. Classics are classic for a reason, you don't put arms on the Venus De Milo and say "There, it's better now".
I did enjoy ZM but only because I hated the original. Megaman though, I didn't enjoy MHX at all. Powered Up, I enjoyed the 2 new bosses.

well, I might aswell point out you put Super mario allstars in your top games too, which had different physics, and the gamecube remake of resident evil, which changed quite a lot :p
And I see your point with star wars but at the same time I feel people make too big of a deal about it, in all honesty, I feel arguing over even the larger points like the greedo scene a bit much.

I prefer the NES originals though. I only used it because it's a good way to cheat and add an extra 4 games that deserved to be in.
Resi NGC was one of the few remakes that truly did make a great game better (But they're rare). I say look at the remake of Conker.
It was terrible. Absolutely terrible.
The Greedo scene is again down to the remaking, because they changed it. So that's solely why the argument exists. Because I hate it too.

XD I normally do too, I just don't like it when people say thingsare crap when they really aren't that bad, I mean I know you said you didn't care for phantom hourglass, which I honestly didn't too much either, but I certainly wouldn't call it crap, it was just missing that special something that makes zelda what it is.
And don't go saying it was because you didn't like wind waker :p that one just happens to be my fave, so I don't think that'd affect it XD

I would say it's crap though because I hated the controls, the gimmick, the everything.
Afterall liking games is opinion and I think that it's total crap, I didn't think it was even worth beating.
And I don't think they've made a good Zelda since MM because they haven't made a hard one since MM, and I don't like easy games, not easy supposedly epic ones like Zelda.
It's like that old saying goes, without disapointment, you'll never learn to appreciate achievement.

Maybe that's the main difference between you and me, though I certainly enjoy a good challenge in games, that is not the deciding factor for me, it's whether I'm enjoying myself while I'm playing it, whether it's hard or not. I've played and beaten many hard games, the megaman series are among my all time favourites games, but as are a lot of the zelda and pokémon games, if I'm having a blast while playing them, I'd call that enjoying them and I certainly wouldn't call that a disappoinment.

That's the thing, I don't enjoy easy games at all. If I don't get challenged I don't care about the game or anything.
If I beat the game without dieing once (TP ) I'll get to the end &think it's been a huge waste of (50 hours) my life & then never play it again.
I don't see why Nintendo REFUSE to put difficulty settings in there main games.
If Zelda just had a VERY HARD mode then none of this would matter. But by continuing to only make easy games they're buring bridges that they can't undo.

Yeah, unlike any other sensible console, the Wii does DLC in game only.
So you have to boot up the game evertyime you want to buy DLC.
Whereas on the PS3 you can buy multiple things at once for many games using the cart :)

My theory is that they can't do demo's, so they're having to put up the full game and then lock it, which might be why they're bigger, because they'll have the lock software.
And I reckon hackers will figure it out and get full games for free.
As if they don't already with that awful homebrew hack, piracy kills small devs, it really does.
