most of the aid Israel receives from the USA is in the form of credits for military hardware, which goes right back to the USA. And American aid amounts to less than 10% of Israel's GDP. Even without it, Israel's per capita productivity would still be a couple of orders of magnitude higher than Jordan's, or Syria's, or Egypt's. Sorry buddy.

US Foreign Development Aid is way more than $20b per year, and Israel is currently NOT part of this program at all. Israel receives a sizable amount of US MILITARY AID only, used to purchase US-made equipment (e.g. F16 jets), and spends these money in USA, along with Egypt, Colombia (not to mention governments in Iraq and Afganistan which now get by far more military aid then Israel, so 1/3 or 1/2 ratio mentioned is exaggeration).

1. Israel defense budget is about 50 billion dollar per year. US aid for israel is about only 2.7 billion dollar. US aid for pakistan for example is 7.5 billion dollar.
2. Until 1967 USA cast an embargo on israel and didn't help israel even in 1 dollar. so the title "Total US Aid from 1949-1996" is false.

US Foreign Development Aid is way more than $20b per year, and Israel is currently NOT part of this program at all. Israel receives a sizable amount of US MILITARY AID only, used to purchase US-made equipment (e.g. F16 jets), and spends these money in USA, along with Egypt, Colombia (not to mention governments in Iraq and Afganistan which now get by far more military aid then Israel, so 1/3 or 1/2 ratio mentioned is exaggeration).

It's commendable that we are donating so much to Haitian relief. However, it is pitiful that the U.S. gives untold millions every fricken year to the "51st State" of Israel.
From this day forward why not give all (or, at least most) of what we give to Israel to the nation of Haiti, instead? Aren't they more deserving of our support and love?
