@kazimann One time, a F1 TV crew got permission to put a camera in one of Ken Tyrrell's cars. They wanted to put it in the cockpit footwell. It was amazing seeing Katayama doing the stuff F1 drivers don't do anymore. His footwork blew me away, especially when one considers how often you need to double-clutch while pulling triple-digit speeds. The guy needs a better car. He'll blow Shinji Nakano away any day.

Yeah, thinking that there's a giant leap between 1980's and 2009 technology...

This monsters didn't have sequential gearbox at the steering wheel, didn't have power steering, didn't have electronic differentials, regulable suspension, n4 composite tires, good brake pads, cut-off, bla bla bla.

exactly, you just explained, nowdays rally cars have enough technology to reach faster speed than B cars, and they have a lot more control because of the suspension, differentials etc... they are easier to drive, is like playing a PlayStation, you only have to brake and accelerate. It's purely amazing that only a few severe accidents occured while the audience acted so stupidly.

I agree with "We lost the beauty and madness of Group B rallying precisely because of this sort of spectator behaviour" and the amount of special stages. Before Toivonen died he complained about it as the drivers became exhausted during the competition. If they would have decreased the amount of stages and controlled the audience there would not have been so big issue with continuing group b.
