  • they are training for lowel level penetration attacks..under the radar

  • hahaahaah Argentina Air Force flies much lower than that. seriously I'm not lying

  • are they armed?

  • omg, im nearly 26 and i never knew such a place existed on the shores i live on. My major regret was not getting involved with military piloting and id so love to see this with my own eyes. Is it a pretty much turn up and hope they are testing??

  • @invisiblebarriers Hell if you like this you should the hercs do it. Amazing!

  • Thanks a lot for your interesting tidbits of information. Always enjoyable to read this kind of input instead of some of the dumb ignorance that's thrown around all too frequently.

  • excellent

  • I LOVE H.D.!!!!!

  • The f111 was dropped by the raf about 5 minutes after receiving the first planes, the terrain radar, radar, and flir systems were abysmal and the plane has no defensive systems, the gr1 then later gr4 can fly faster, lower, safer and shoot better. Plus it can shoot its way out if it gets caught out against migs and such like.

  • the f15 is still one of the most pretty planes in the world

  • very nice

  • Thumbs up if the mach loop is the best place on earth !!!

  • Am I the only one who *LOVES* the sight of wingtip contrails on fighters?

  • @HarisonHopwood Nope :) <3

  • Great video, thanks for the post :)

  • Great video! Watching fighter jets flying low and fast is awesome.

  • when i was in year 6 on my residential trip in wales, we were mountain walking on tumpa and hey bluff and we seen this jet (similar to the one in the vid) fly right through this area and it was AWESOME!

  • Is this a airshow or something ?

Or why is the plane going in so low altitude ?

    Btw I love the video!!

  • @Flackerr It is not an airshow, but the RAF (and occasionally the USAF and other foreign air forces) doing their low level flight training in the Welsh Valleys. Glad you like the video.

  • @LowFlyMedia About 25+ years ago I was hiking in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and watched an F-15 come idling up a valley. We were on a high ridge and could see down into the cockpit. At the end of the valley he lit the candles and pulled straight up. Absolutely awe-inspiring display of performance.

  • @LowFlyMedia just a random fact they do it in the lake district as well :) apparently its quite similar to flying in the Afghanistan mountains.

  • @TheARMAProductions

ur forgetting about the f11,ground hugging ground following radar and yes goes faster then gr4 at low level

and thats what us AUSSIES were good at doing with them

  • @mitymo1968 sorry but the tornado is quicker than the f-111 at low level, it's still is the fastest aircraft in the world at low level.

  • Where is the mach loop? I would love to spend a day checking out some low level stuff

  • @Burpooligan It is in mid wales

  • @Burpooligan The Mach loop's short for Machynlleth Loop. Head to the hills surrounding Aberystwyth and Machynlleth on the right day and you'll see them. :)

  • @Burpooligan About 50 feet above my house haha Just north from Machynlleth

  • @Burpooligan i second that :)

  • @TheARMAProductions

I agree about the GR4 being the best low-level ground attack plane in the world.

As for air to air dogfighting..................we'll leave that to the Typhoon

    Thanks

  • @TheARMAProductions they were shot down by f-15 at 20 thousand feet. friendly fire is a bitch.

  • im a pretty avid aviation fan live in wisconsin and go to eaa every year since i was one year old but still dont know why contrails appear on the wing tips in a high g turn, and why every fighter has the contrails on the wing tips except the F-16 which has them on the wing root can someone please tell me

  • that pic u took after the first clip of te tornado was pretty good quality, what camara did you use...cannon rebel?

  • @AIRCADETKIDLOGAN38A I used a Nikon D300.

  • Mustanglead, You're full of Brown Sugar!!!! The F-15 is far superior than the Tornado. Why is it that there have been more Tornados shot down in combat, than F-15's during the Gulf War???? It's either, A) Tornados are terrible attack ("low level") jets, or B) British pilots just aren't that good as F-15 drivers. The Tornado is like a VW bug. Good, dependable, but it ain't no Pantera (F-15) buddy boy!

  • @ColtDeltaElite10mm

The Tornados were lost due to the mission they flew deploying the JP233 runway buster, once the tornado's were deployed above 10,000 ft where the F15's live no more were lost. No point comparing F15 & Tornado GR4, different aircraft for different tasks ! As for US pilots being better than RAF, that depends on your level, of bigotry !

  • @ColtDeltaElite10mm You're not in the USAF. During Desert Storm, the USAF allowed a British exchange pilot to fly combat missions over Baghdad in the F-117 Stealth. They wouldn't even let US Navy pilots near that thing, or any other pilots in the world - only the RAF. Tornado losses were due to their extreme low-level 'runway denial' missions, which the F-15 could not carry out. No 'F-15 driver' would ever say British pilots 'aren't that good.'

  • @TheMarkXIV

Good pick, RE: "ColtDelta ". His age shows as 41 on his channel, and I'll get reversing the digits is a more accurate number. I long ago figured out that anyone on the internet who uses: "wolf", "patriot", "1776", or any firearm name in his profile is either a 50-ish shut-in, or a 15-ish school boy.

It's unfortunate the USAF didn't realize the full potential of the F-117 earlier in the conflict and used them instead of the Tornado for runway denial and saved some brave men.

  • Ididn't see any loop.... Sorry

  • @Shortstory123 the place where its filmed is called mach loop, its in wales :)

  • the f15 is a ugly plane

  • @Jimbob8971 It's a good thing that appearance is utterly insignificant when it comes to air superiority, lol.

  • Tornado at sea level mach 1.2. Not a plane on Earth that can stay with it at that altitude and if they try to get above it theTornado just disappears in amongst the ground clutter. F-15 has massive wing area which makes it a supreme dogfighter but at low level that advantage becomes a disadvantage. The Eagle pilot is uncomfortable and is shaken to the bones. Tornado low level ride comfort is amazing! That's what it was designed for..

  • @mustanglead the old f-111 can

  • @mustanglead your right apart from the f15 has pulse doppler radar which can pick out targets against ground clutter i dont know how well it works though

  • @mustanglead A mig-23 might be able to catch it.

  • @mustanglead Apparently the Buccaneer was even better!

  • @mustanglead Raptor at sea level = Mach 1.7 w/out afterburners (I know your comment is a year old)

  • @mustanglead Not now they scrapped the Buccaneer

  • @mustanglead the Tomcat is the american Tornado equivalent

  • @mustanglead spot on answer F15 too big a bus for that compared to the Tornado which is at home in low level

  • @mustanglead Interesting fact mate never new that

  • great vids, what camera do you use for the stills? do you think a nikon d3100 could get image quality like that?

  • @RAF1996 Stills are taken with Nikon D200/300. No reason a D3100 shouldn't be able to do the same :-)

  • @RAF1996

yea, d3100 could do it, get the nikon 70-300vr or the nikon 55-300vr lens to use on it, they will do the job aswell, you will get some good close shots :)

  • Whats the best time of the year to see aircraft flying through the loop and can anyone watch them?

  • @payts31 Any time of year (but not weekends or bank holidays), and anyone can watch them.

  • the f15 couldent catch and shoot the buccaneer on red flag excersises in the 70s so what makes you think they could do it to a tornado on the deck, at altitude the f15 would have the edge, but on the deck the brits still rule the roost and have done so since the days of the mosqueto and the hawker typhoon.

  • @deeka24 That's partly the reason behind the intro of the F-16 Falcon, a dual - purpose hunter = AA or ATG missions at a switch of a button !!! Besides, that Tornado is too fast & crafty, for the BIG eagle at low - level, otherwise SPLASH one F3 ? !!! The RAF does rule the roost at deck - level, that's why it's good idea to have a joint mission with the RAF (smile).

  • @MrJeffreydunson yup that actually looked very high for a raf sortie lol

the old bucaneers were mental there was a saying that you should raise the gear then decend to operating altitude lol

  • @deeka24 that was f-15 a not c or e.

  • British air force " we should fly low and nearly touch the ground " ,,,, American air force " ah a sheep,, i think i ll stay up here,, im scared of sheep " xD

  • @kirza94 very funny, mate. (yank).

  • @kirza94

    B.S

They fly just as low and just as fast. Aparently you never seen been a Air show out in the U.S . I wish I could give you url but you can't do that on youtube anymore.

Look for some F-15's on youtube or U.S Navy Blue Angle Sneak pass is pretty low and awsome too.

  • @mojame100 He's kidding I'm sure.

  • @kirza94

Why does that get thumbs up? Possibly the lamest joke of all time, and I'm not American.

  • There's nowhere quite like the Dinas Pass.

    ;-)

  • I think he was showing his equipment to you :), i want to fly a Gr4 when i'm older

  • F15 very high,Tornado very loooowwwww!As usual,the best plane at low altitudes.

  • @bufalobilll Voted up.!

  • @bufalobilll you don't really want to compare GR4 to F-15E..

  • @repo4

Yes,at low altitude gr4 is the best.

  • @repo4 why not? Why don't you be role specific?

  • @bufalobilll your actually saying the tornado is better than the F-15? wow you must be dumb

  • @poskyflyer

I'm only saying Tornado has the best performs at low level flying. Not only me says this things.Paolo from Italy.

  • probably in scotland, the F15 pilot was not used to the terrain?

  • @sonofhendrix mach loop is in Wales

  • USAF F15E was kinda high.

  • @leicam6

    New to the route.

  • u gotta dig that sound

  • Awesome, we had some F15s down corris, pure brilliance

  • Incredible....i shake, my eyes water....just nuts
