  • Still looking good Tanya. Seen you on hotline,

  • tanya's in a new movie! check it out! youtube: QueensoftheWorldFilm

  • that country that sheena was to be a leader in was

not a country but people.they lived within a country.

that country had a leader already.just like the u.s.a.

  • Sheena didn't have political aspirations to be the leader of Tigora. She was raised to be the protector of the Zambuli tribe and the animlas of the region. Yes, Tigora had a leader, who is the king that is murdered by his brother, Prince Otwani. Sheena clashes with Otwani and his men because they accuse the female Zambuli shaman of the murder.

  • Wow! She is riding a Zeebra!

  • This clip is part of a larger documentary that was about Tarzan and the influence he had on pop culture for the Disney film

that came out ten years ago. Tanya's attitude toward Sheena has varied from interview to interview. Initially she didn't like the film when it flopped but as the movie became a male cult favorite, her opinions have grown more favorable. Keeps those pictures selling.

  • Wow! I've never seen this documentary before. I didn't see the movie until I was around 19 yrs. old. It was ancient history by then. I considered Shena a bit racist like Tarzan. It was rather offensive, yet filled with adventure. In any case, I wouldn't know about France Zobda or Uganda's Princess Elizabeth Nyabongo (the Shaman) today were it not for this film. Is Zobda saying that she was originally cast as Shena?

  • No. She says that when she was first contacted to appear in the film she briefly thought they were asking her to play Sheena, but eventually realised that was not possible.

  • Aaah, okay. That makes me sad, though. The truth hurts!

  • To anmate01: Sheena was raised and spiritually guided by a native of the country who taught her the ancient culture and to be a leader of that country. It was the country she grew up in and the only country she knew. I don't see how that is racist. Similar is Tarzan who was able to keep peace between tribes since he had no other tribe of his own except the wild animals. You never took the time to understand the real idea of the premise.

  • Lucky Zeebra.

  • lol :-)

  • I can remember watching this as a kid and having my father remark about how the costume people must've had to glue her outfit on to keep it in place.

    Good times.

  • amazing....I love this movie...great, please post others

  • thanks pwgr2000, is a great video, I love tanya roberts and sheena queen of the jungle..amazing, please post other videos about it.

  • Sorry, this short segment from the documentary I mentioned is the only place I have ever seen Tanya Roberts discussing the film. Personally, I wish they would get her to contribute to a commentary on the film for a collectors edition of the DVD so we can all hear her stories.

  • Since my last reply to this comment I have posted a short HBO promotional special that features the actors talking about their experiences filming in Africa.

It is called "Short Promo - Sheena (1984)" and you can find it on my channel.
