The RAF is by far one of the best air forces in the world, it manages to do everything on a minute bugget, only cause the gov are tight asses. Then a navigational error sent german planes over london which caused germany to chage their tactics at invasion. This gave us a window to repair our airfields and send up our aircraft. @mentalhazr Sorry to but in mate. But London has a diameter of about 20 miles. You can drop four Berlins' in that foot print easy. So its not small and in 1944 it was the larges city on earth. The reason the V1 and V2s’ missed so often was due to the information being fed to the Germans by turned spies. These guys lied about where the bombs hit and slowly got the Germans to retarget them. Lots also failed due to sabotage at the factories. People got killed doing this to save Londoners lives.

Hellenic Air-force does it yet again. They have just won all the combat exercise in the latest NATO military exercises held in Spain last week April, 2011.This is on top of the other big win which was RED FLAG 2008 where they destroyed US Air-force, so called best air-force and its top-guns in a kill ratio of 18:3. It was USAF first loss and never had it been so bad. Further more the best NATO Pilot voted by NATO peers for the third time was Charalambos Eskioglou.
HAF leaves the rest for dust.

HI All, just to be clear, I've read most of your comments and would like to add a couple of things. I'm happy with everyone being pro their country and think this is a good thing. FACTS - The RAF has the best pilots in the world by far (check out Red flag, ACMI etc) Americans have the best kit up to,in some ways,the Typhoon which is an incredible a/c (check out the flight envelope) The Russian technology was also amazing.. making a/c that work or diesel make viper turn and land in fields ak47??

In Gulf War 1, two A-10's attacked 3 Warrior APC's that had the allied orange panels clearly displayed. They even ignored identification flares that were fired. 8 inf soldiers were killed. In GW2, US troops shoot down an RAF Tornado that was making it's final approach at low speed to it's airbase-killing both crew. Excellent performance! Useless Barclay Hunts.

The reason the RAF is so small is cuz if u havnt noticed... We are a tiny island, not even a fraction of the size of the USA. Our pilots are much better trained than the pilots in the USA force. You may have more of them, but the skill of our pilots cannot be matched by anyone, apart from maybe the russians...
