The Royal Artillery were creating a recruitment video to show that they did more than just shoot big guns. The problem was that the Sappers controlled the boats, so they soaked a portion of beach and landed there.
Why does everybody get so serious or slate these soldiers? If you've ever soldiered, you'd understand just have boggy that mud is (or just use you're eyes..). It doesn't matter if they're army or marines (and they are army, for the record), it would take superman to do what they were trying to do (remember this is training) without getting bogged down.
Too much funny shit happens in military training, you only see tiny glimpses of it. This being one.

To join the armed forces and serve your country takes a very unique type of person and in a branch like the marines where all MOS's revolve around combat arms takes an especially unique person.
Not every MOS, as the Army calls it, in the Marine Corps in combat oriented. Theres still logistics and other jobs that have no combat relation. Just because EVERY Marine is a rifleman first, doesnt mean theyre in a combat job. BUt yes, WE do do most the heavy stuff.

I once heard a Royal Marine say the difference between royal marine's and US marine's is that royal marine's are too smart to show and US marine's are too dumb to know but i guess we all have a bad day every now and then lol ( I should also point out that i have the greatest respect for all serving members of the armed forces...i build MWMIK jakals and cannibals for the RM and british army and as a result have a lot to do with them.)

To join the armed forces and serve your country takes a very unique type of person and in a branch like the marines where all MOS's revolve around combat arms takes an especially unique person.

Not every MOS, as the Army calls it, in the Marine Corps in combat oriented. Theres still logistics and other jobs that have no combat relation. Just because EVERY Marine is a rifleman first, doesnt mean theyre in a combat job. BUt yes, WE do do most the heavy stuff.

The RMC have a similar principle, where every marine is a trained rifleman, then goes on to career progressions.

having been in the US army i know a prank when i see one. those poor guys were set up! it was funny though. but, whether they were in on it as well is still up in the air. but the clean up must have been god awful. and personally, to everyone bad mouthing each others armed forces, just stop. it kinda sad, like the "my dad can beat up your dad" only a little bit lamer, and on the internet... (sigh)

Whats with all these Marines thinking that they're the shit. I would never put down anyone because I think my service is better.
I broke my leg in Army basic in the third week and still made it through the whole damn thing (stupid medic said i was fine "shin splints"), and I'd be damned if anyone tries to put me down for that. I hurt so bad it was indescribable. They only way I made it through out roads marches was by making my knee pad on my right leg tight as shit

alright imma straighten everything out. first of the Army has better gear which is correct but heres the thing, the Army dont know how to use shit so then the Marines get their so called "Broken junk" and make the best out of it. I was standing on post in IRAQ with an army guy who wasnt wearing any PPE gear, when i asked him where the fuck his sappis were, he told me that his Command didnt require them to wear any. bigger doesn mean better as proven by the army. the army sucks because they have lost there tradition and old school way. you really now more on ur new technoligical training and fucking quantity. which mean they mass produce ur infantry instead of the marines who highly train theyre infantry. and keep theyre old school tradition. we have small unit leadership. and if u didnt know u guys adopted our marine doctrine on amphibious assualt and watched demonstrations on how to do it.

We have the money, we have the equipment, we have the resources, we have our own airpower, we don't ride on boats and play with seamen, we don't suck the admiral's dick, we have all the best training manuals and APPLY them, we have ALL the best CQB tactics... We're better hand down.

The Army gets the Cash, The marines get the garbage, yet we make it work. I remember using a an/prc 77 from 1968 in 1988. A stinking 20 yr old radio set yet we made it work. Hell we didnt get the M9 pistols until the Army got thiers first, We still had our 45's, I was in the armoury at the time

yeh I don't know if these are the US army but the Brits are fucking amazing. The Royal Marines Commando is probably the hardest boot camp which lasts for 6 months. They are way better than marines and they arn't even special forces.
