Ifill should have recused herself from position of moderator. Seems she didn't mention her book to the committee that chose her. I used to have a lot of respect for Brokaw, up to the time his book about the greatest generation came out. You can see his leftist leanings in the way he words his questions. Notice that Tom Brokaw skipped the portion of the SNL skit that touched on Gwen Ifill's book as the reason for her being soft. Make no mistake, this was a deliberate omission. Ifill would simply have no way to respond to that criticism because she allowed the McCain camp to get to her. She was compromised and her thinly veiled excuses of "just being a moderator" cannot whitewash over her utter collapse in the face of pressure.

Mrs. Ifill has a serious conflict of interest in publishing a book named for the man currently running for President. It is set to debut on Inauguration Day, and will fall extremely flat if said candidate doesn't win. She didn't say this to the debate Committee nor to the participants of the debate.
