I personally don't believe young people should date at all. As a young person or teenager you're still finding yourself and developing your relationship with God and aren't mature enough to have another person in your life that way. Some people say they're mature but I think those people are kidding themselves.

I have also prayed for our relationship. We really love each other, but the Church rules include not to have a relationship until we graduate College and find a stable job.. We want to commit our love for each other, but it seems that our love for each other is being stopped :(

@Rachel27371 im a christian, and im 12, and im dating my best friends cousin. As long as your mature emotionally, and are not dramatic, hug and talk a couple times a day. and a short little kiss every once in a while (No tongueing) then its fine for a twelve year old.

true. teenagers even though their 18 are not fully developed emotionally or even mentally when it comes to dating the opposite sex. im 19 and i just found a guy that is christian and also has good values and morals. even though ive wanted to date guys in highschool, at the end of the day i had to ask myself what and why i was looking for relationships. but im glad i waited alittle longer till i was mature enough to handle that and to find someone mature emotionally.

I do believe I am mature enough to date but I can always grow stronger and I dont want to take the chances of loosing someone I love over a relationship. 18 to 21? Good lord, my kids would leave home. If you're a teeager and someone asks you out and you like that person then go out. Don't have sex. Have fun. Teens need to experiece relationships so that when they marry they can rely on the things they have learned.

I'm 17 and avoid dating at the moment. Really, there are other things to focus on at the moment. When the right woman comes along, then yes. Not before, though.

I can understand the confusion for young people. What does it mean to date? I know young ppl have a way of dating without their parents even knowing it. But, it's not a good thing to do. Whenever you have to do things secretly, you set yourself up to be in harms-way. I'd say once the young person is able to leave their parents or guardians home. Why? You're free to live your life and make adult decisions. If you're not ready to do that, then you're not ready to date.

Parents and the church should teach teens how to date because there are lot of wolves in sheep skin. Parents should guide their children before they start dating. They should even give dating classes in the church. The problem with the church is that they don't deal with real life situations. Parents should establish a relationship with their children so that they can come to them.
