それ以来のspainです。

アルディメオラのspainが一番だと思ってましたが、寺井さん­もなかなかのもんです。

それにしても５弦のベースは珍しいですね。

@wexmary That's just to add a little flavor to the arrangement, I think. After seeing her solo, I'd have a hard time believing she couldn't keep up with the main melody of all things.

True, but it sounds awkward as anything. To my ears, hearing the piece in a variety of contexts, it sounds better at a fast tempo. To play one part fast, the other slow sounds quite off. Just my opinion.

@wexmary　Making a tempo shift in a song might be sort of a Japanese style of jazz live performance. Sadao Watanabe, an alto-sax player, likes this trick as well.

That will bring an accent to the performance, which tends to be felt monotone all the way from beginning to the end.

I play the violin and to me, this lady sounds more like a classical violinist than a jazz violinist. Jazz violin is very hard and this woman can pull it off. She is incredible, but I don't like her as much as the drummer and bass guitarist. Overall, they're pretty good.

I love the violin and the song in general. For me, the piano player brought the song down. He was't able to capture the essence of the composition, and may indeed not be a true jazz player. Am I expecting Chick Corea? No. Well, maybe. ; )

She might be a good violinist, but in some portions of this beautiful masterpiece she is completely out of tune. In addition this arrangement has been given a modern jazzy tune that kills the piece written by Rodrigo.
