Russia does not have crappy food. They have the richest, most fertile soil on Earth, making for the cleanest, healthiest vegetables and fruits (whatever is able to grow there).

But in Sochi, the main city is well above 1°C. The winter average there is more like 7°C. It never really gets icy there (except in the mountains as shown. Palm trees grow in Sochi. :3

Just so called Western part of the World. And Russia has ~$500bln reserves -- 3rd biggest reserves and its debt <10% of GDP. For example, Japan has more reserves (including more gold), but it has ~9tln (trillion!) debt. Relax and be sure that this olympic construction won't cause more debts.

Sochi is awesome! Only problem is why are the Winter Olympics going to be hosted in a warm, subtropical costal city like Sochi, Russia? Why not Yakutsk or even Moscow? Those places would suit the winter olympics much better.
