I remember changing my pc for this game

(also Doom3, HalfLife2 and Colin04 came out that year)

when Crysis came out - I had problems running it on hi details

when this game came out - I had to edit the files to make it run in 640x480

I spent countless hours plying with the graphic settings XD

it needed a very good pc to run at high details

but it had no problems working on GeForce2 and 256RAM

eyecandy but also one of the best games I ever played (great AI)

Far Cry and Crysis were two great games, the amount of player choice in both of them is staggering, and the gameplay was awesome in both. It's a shame people dismiss both as nothing more then mere tech demos, because they aren't.

I think this game is better than Far Cry 2. like in Far Cry 2 you can't sneak or snipe cuz the fucking hostiles spot you with their sentinel skills but in this you can sneak like ahero..

I remember playing this game back in 2004 on a Pentium 4 chipset with some fossil of a GPU and thinking that the water was photo-realistic.

When I picture it in my head, the lighting and water effects were Crysis-worthy. Seeing this now crushes that image for me...

@mybluebelly I played both Far Cry games, and loved them both, but I liked 2 more because of the freedom. The first Far Cry is a more linear shooter, with separate missions. Did you ever played Crysis? Far Cry is the same gameplay wise, but without the suit.

My advice: watch a video of the first mission here and then think if you get the game or not.

The real time lighting and massive scope of Far Cry puts Half Life 2 to shame. About the only thing HF2 surpasses Far Cry in is physics.
