Ok my second post on this....im convinced this song was intended for ELO2 the website wont comfirm.....i wonder what it would have sounded like with jeff lynne, mike edwards, richie tandy etc...great track without them tho'...but what if....
Love this song and the album it comes from...it always intrigues me to think did Roy Wood have any written songs for the second ELO album of which he did actually play on 2 tracks...I could be wrong but i think `Wear a fast gun` was possibly written for ELO 2, it has that feel...suppose we`ll never know, but its an interesting thought...Thanks for posting this..the most underrated singer/songwriter of our generation...Genius
Wowww... finally somebody posted this great HIMN... I still have my WIZZARD BREW old LP... I still remember listening this great album 4 or 5 times everyday as soon as I came back from the University... the cello solo part is something nobody but Roy could create.
Simply beautiful, what a fantastic atmosphere you can feel while listening this master piece.
I consider him to be one of those unsung heroes of British progessive rock. He pioneered a lot of things, but never really remained in the spotlight after the Move split up and became ELO. I only know of his later career through discography listings and the copies of BOULDERS and MUSTARD (including a few singles on later compilations).
YouTube posts like yours are making up for the lack of airplay.
I've still got my orginal Wizzard brew album . This song still stands the test of time , Roy Wood is amazing. Memories come flooding back , backdrop to the political unrest of the times. This song always stood out from the album for me . It should have more views than this, i hope You Tube listeners new to this enjoy it . Peace and Love to all. The ending of Abide with Me was inspirational.
I have been waiting for this posting..I have the LP somewhere, and i think a lyric sheet was included..it would help alot to post the lyrics here so others can understand the song... with different vocals, this sounds like it could have been The Beatles in 1967... check out this song posted on youtube: Going Home/To Mrs Jones Garden by the group "Weekend"
listened to this last week and not for 35yrs since then. This song is epic and I miss Roy writing and coming up with timeless materpieces. thanks for posting.
I have known this song nearly 30 years but I don´t still know what does "wear a fast gun" here really mean. Nice video with a lot of fascinating pictures.
