Küfretmenin, hayvanlık yapmanın; sanki kendin çok bir b.kmuşsun gibi küçümsemeye çalışmanın alemi var mı? thank you for honoring the memory of the great istanbul armenian musician tatyos efendi, whose works are still played to this day in the conservatories across the arab world, iran, and turkey. as everyone knows, istanbul was the center of western armenian culture and all the most important armenian writers, playwrights, architects, and musicians came from there.
karcigar is a beautiful makam that some of our armenian folk music such as sepastia bar is written in.
pay no attention to the ignorant comment. this person's idea of armenian music is probably a baboon jumping around a stage full of keyboards screaming hey jan ghapama.
this is because the educated, cultured part of the armenian nation was destroyed in 1915 while the primitive, degenerate portion which survive off insurance fraud and credit card scams was left intact. that's why people like tatul altounian from istanbul, gomidas from kutahya, and parsegh ganatchian from rodosto/tekirdag had to go to armenia to teach the people there what armenian music is.
As a western Armenian I must tell you to shut the hell up. Gomidas *studied* in Echmiadzin. Do you think he just magically became a folk music expert? You do know that Gomidas' knowledge of Armenian was also nearly non-existent when he arrived there...?
When you write off the country like that, it's just wrong. What about the achievements made by Soviet Armenians (Khachaturian, Avetisian, Babajanian)? Not cultured enough for you?
a dumbed-down version of the kanun was developed for them which can only play whole and half tones, instead of the the full set of whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth tones that exist on a turkish kanun, but they were still not even able to learn that very well and so they play what i described earlier which is a kind of diarhhea of the ear.
keep up the good work and i wish you further success with this beautiful instrument.

yes its one of our traditional instruments and the persians discovered it and armenians were second to play it...we played it before the turks came to the middle east and the arabs came and spread it throughout the arab world.

they still weren't able to learn it however which is why today they only know how to play keyboard which they learned from the russians.
