get anything but the omega pedal. The package I recieved was terrible. They shipped one of my pedals broken and both of them were poorly put together. The twin rocker was also just a circuit board wrapped in plastic. O and if your from Canada apperantly the shipping is more and there is a $50 import fee that you hear about when it gets there. Im not sure if they usually ship like that but I was really dissapointed and mad that I was out nearly $300 and still do not have a decent pedal.

With the Omega pedal yes. The pedal was not constructed to be used without the beater.

I think the best pedal is the Destroyer Pedal.

You can buy it at Rock Band Parts. The best pedal will come down to your judgement. The Omega pedal is a high end professional pedal and has a lot of bells and whistle that other pedals do not. The Destroyer is great if you want plug and play and have nothing to adjust. Me as a drummer I like to be able to tweak my pedal. So like I said it all comes down to you and your preference.

That depends on what you are looking for. If you want play out of the box and never have to do anything to it then you want the Destroyer. However if you want to be able to adjust the pedal to your liking then the Omega.

The advantage is that you will be able to feel what you are playing. This helps a lot because you can feel the beat and it helps out a ton. This is why real drummers like myself and others use them because of the realism.

Does anyone know a good setting for the Omega Pedal? I'm having problems with figuring out how high to put the beater, how much tension to use and which power shifter position to use. I know that everyone's feel is different, and that I should try to figure it out, but I'm having real trouble with it. It seems like I can't find teh sweet spot..the pedal is either too bouncy (2x hits) or not bouncy enough (can't do quick hits)

The only real answer to this is you have to continue to play with it until you finally find the spot. It is all based on how heavy or light your foot is and your personal preference in the feel of the tension. I wish there was a better answer, but this is what all drummers have to go through and what makes or breaks a pedal for us.

What is that annoying beeping sound that occurs every 10 seconds? You should avoid background noises when doing these reviews, such as that beeping and the phone call. Other than that, it was a useful review.

for one this is a real live shoot and life does happen. Two I cannot predict when someone is going to call me which is why I shoot now in a different location. The beeping is my alarm in my house which signaled the battery was dying. Unfortunately life does not stop for me when I do this and things happen.

Besides dude this was 4 months ago. Have you watched anything new I have done? As a pro musician who has been in studios for years I know about minimizing background noises. However in a studio it is built to lock things out, a home that is active is not.

I watched this video, and a couple of other videos of you playing RockBand. I did notice the same beeping in the other videos too... I think it might be a good idea to replace the battery if you haven't already done so, that would drive me crazy if I had to live with that. Personally I think The Rock Pedal is better than both. Now I use mine with a practice pad. But for me The Destroyer Pedal although a great pedal, is hard for me to hit some double and triple beats. This is because I am use to a pedal with a beater. But the Destroyer is a great plug and play pedal with not need to make any adjustments. This is as close to the stock as you can get using a real pedal.

I would say quite a while. The heads will need to be replaced at some time like all drum heads, but I would say they should last 6 to 8 months.

I actually used paper clips to hold the sock. if you put like two or three clips on the underside of the sock, it holds very nice. Make sure though that the sock is pulled tight when you do.

I got mine in a week. But you have to keep in mind that there was no wait then. From what they tell me every since I did the review they have been back ordered. They are now up to 3 or 4 weeks I believe. All of the 3rd party pedal makers are having issues due to then having a large demand for a large amount of pedals. Pedal companies are not use to this, as each music store like Guitar Center carry no more than 2 to 5 pedals of each brand.

In my opinion, the Destroyer Pedal is better because it's less expensive, doesn't require assembly to it, and I like the Dixon Pedal more. But the Omega Pedal is still pretty cool. It also comes with a key for attaching the beater, which the Destroyer doesn't have.

Keep in mind the Destroyer pedal can be used with or without the beater. It is recommended to use the Omega with the beater due to the way the sensor is and how the sensor is activated.

nice review! one question: Can u adjust the beater so it is in a more upright position as if it were a real pedal striking the bass drum? I ask this because i was thinking if i could put a practice pad for it to hit. Thanks!

Yes you can. However you have to rotate the head that holds the beater. You do this by the supplied allen wrenches that come with the pedal. I think after using it you may decide that it is fine the way it is.

Thanks I am glad I could do it. I am still playing with mine to get it just right but I love it! If you are a serious Rock Band drummer I suggest getting one. I know the price seems steep but man let me tell you it makes a world of difference and makes you want to play Rock Band alot more. Now if we can only get some good drums!!
