MCAS Futenma which is practically packed in by houses and bussiness' now, used to be in a remote area. But yet they complain about the noise. There are some controversial videos to make you think differently, but believe me, Japan has one of the lowest cases of rape in the world, and like most first world nations, a large majority is perpetrated by foreigners with lower socio-economic backgrounds. My mom lived on an air base when she was young. She said after she moved out she couldn't get any sleep when there wasn't a plane taking off or landing. These people can't just get use to the planes?

@XMSpaintX US soldiers are diplomatically immune to Japanese law, so there have been multiple cases of rapes, assault and other crimes, as well as hundreds of deaths due to negligent driving/flying in Okinawa.
So yeah, much more than just plane noise.
