Tip 113.5: Once you place larger objects under the wheel, also pack plenty of dirt & gravel between and around those objects to help prevent them from moving as you attempt to drive off.
It would be nice if they'd show this operation in real world conditions, like in two feet of muddy water after finding the rut the idiots like EP leave for responsible off roaders.
on my 4x4 i welded on a ring to the upper wheel well to hook a rachet strap/or chain too i hook it to the ring and then to the axle.. i do this so that i don't have to jack the 4x4 up so high
The bases are all lose like that. Pull the cotter pin out and loosely wrap the bottom of the bar with electrical tape and reassemble to quiet it down. Do the same with the handle. It will make much less noise on your truck afterward.
We see morons like you out on the trails all the time, usually being carried off in a basket after park rangers have to pull your sorry butt from the shiznit.
ummm moron i always put safety first never do any thing dangerous its moron newies that go in with no experience and think they can do any thing that die
The "old" jack he showed that he said was buggered, is an ORIGINAL Jackall 8000 from Canada. If that jack is stuffed i would be surprised... If it is stuffed, repair it, because an authentic original Jackall made in Canada is the BEST and ONLY jack to own.
The original Jackall is made by J C Hallam in Canada... The new ones are crap....
you did not mention to keep your hands on the jack going up or down and to keep your face away i nearly tore my finger off when i didn't have a good grip on the jack
thanks for the vid. :)

this method is called 'jack & stack' in my part of the bush, highly sucsesful technique for most self recovery situations.

@evilpoeman obviously you don't do any rock crawling...what are you going to do with your winch if there's a big rock in front of your differential??
