  • MOVE BITCH!!!!!

  • @7VEMESIS lol 9gag send me here too

  • This guy can make Chuck Norris looks like a pussy if they're fighting.

  • To deconstruct how the Jedi errs (yes I am not being a relativist) would take a long time but what the 'the power of center' amounts to in the Ki practitioners mind is very much like 'The Power of Now' of MA; too simple, ultimately working against truth. I understand why observing In Yo in self, mind and world seems pedantic (lets get to that bloody universal one harmony already!), but it was Ueshiba's way. The Kami driven out by the Oni of the New Age are booming from the mountain top.

  • When the Ki Jedi talks 'Center' they are often talking about a physical state of calmness (not dead ki mind you) achieved though following four rules, ki breathing etc as well as a psychological state of nirvana, oneness, plus ki. The words used don't matter so much as the subtext; the Ki Jedi knows that special place and you don't. Now, I think IMA people can play that game too, but I think it is harder, the methods are fairly transparent, but you have to put a bit of elbow grease in.

  • this is fake.

  • @X3zi i think so. this was just a demostration. if anyone of those kid tried to fight him for real he would be defeated. he was surely a great master, but his age surely influenced his strenght. (sorry for any mistakes)

  • LHP is the wrong term, theosophic cult is more accurate.

  • People may say this is airy fairy knowledge, but anyone who has an actual energetic awakening becomes quite aware that the entire natural world can serve you in your journey. It also helps to see how 'the dark side' tries to hinder these things. Old traditions such as Shinto (which is 'organised' in many cases) operate on these principles. The core of all theosophy cults is (disguised) worship of negative entities, usually lead from behind the scenes at central org.

  • Fragrant materials such as green tea, incense, flowers, oils please 'good' etheric presences dispell the 'bad'. The natural world often vibrationally matches the human one, simple examples the skin of many fruits is good for human skin (peach-beauty, banana-bruising), roots and stems can aid circulation, bright flowers can open higher consciousness. Even things which just 'look' like part of a human body can have a vibrational match.

  • When people talk about 'spiritual hygiene' i.e ideas like netilat yadayim which come from a more 'organised' philosophy, they refer to the possibility of the etheric body picking up bad flotsam and jetsam. This happens even if you are not in a left hand path systems such as (modern) Aikido which actively promotes this. The important thing is to grasp holographic concepts, i.e crystalline materials/salts are transformers/absorbers of energy.

  • Finally, the New Age seems to have convinced people that polite, gentlemanly, meek love harmony fluffies (with a almost psychotically passive aggressive undercurrent) is the modus for humanity. That so many of these special signs and symbols 'gentlemen' we revere are utterly depraved is the hidden ticket to control. I don't really care if a MA'ist has a heart of gold, is quirky, blunt (there are many great no nonsense mystics) but one that pursues truth over New Agery is worthy of respect.

  • Fwiw, I know that Ki Jedi training has a close enough (v. basic) lexicon that they could share ideas with IMA people, but that is not what the (highly misused) Ki methods were designed for. Think knocked off Rolex in a market, these things MUST have working parts, outer design to ping our truth-dar, but when the test of functionality comes-kersplat! In a Gladwellian 'blink' sense, you should get to know the difference. That Ki Jedi/IMA CAN communicate is good, thats all I will say.

  • There are those in the Aikido cult working against this. The snake values its 'purified' (demoniacally charged) groups very highly and has planned far ahead. The Proctor Gamble cult is a good example (great apples falling from the Aikido tree again) of how the snake will now pluck its hidden one love harmony eugenicists out of the woodwork for a big showdown, It should serve as a cautionary tale to humanity. The best thing you can do as New Agers is show you will not be part of this sick scheme.

  • Whether you are artist, scholar, warrior, scientist, priest as archetype or profession, the problem is when 'superconsious' knowledge is perverted/disallowed by snakish obsessive compulsives, thus we see nutty New Agers thinking they operate from a higher mind, in fact following the snake agenda more than most, Again, love harmony fluff without substance is agenda 101. New Age martial artists are pansies and phonies anyway, especially emotionally, buying into cult fantasy over truth every time.

  • 1:42. you see that ? that's aikido and how it's used in a sword fight.

  • the genius is extreme here.

  • It is not that love and harmony and oneness is wrong (Jing>Chi>Shen, 'the rising of the Christ' or whatever metaphor used for the gradual 'awakening' of the mind/body is not new) but that any proclivity Ueshiba had for peacenik thinking was groomed and pushed for an agenda by depraved criminals is a fact of that little gremlin known as 'history'. Now, the 'old' methods and gods are coming back angrier than ever, 'this is not my......', they are talking especially to the Ki Jedi.

  • If Ki Jedi's feel victimised and misunderstood because everyone around them is not 'spiritual' and loving enough I understand (although this is more than a tad presumptive), maybe such a person would benefit from Bhakti rather than martial methods to confront both conceit and to draw them closer to Ueshibas spirituality (tending to the kamidana is a valid practice).

  • I would like to reiterate that the Ki Jedi, does NOT operate from this mind rather from the dogma of a New Age system. Its not that I am jumping on a bandwagon because I would like to say that Ki Jedi methods (Ki breathing, four rules, ki visualisations, ki testing) are a distant but useful sister of 'real' IMA teachings, but it is simply not true. 'Disinfo' is a much touted phrase, but when the sub group claiming internal 'power' are the fluffies you know some kind of joke is on you.

  • Every mystic tradition lauds the ineffable oneness of the singularity and even modern scientists make claims that such concepts are the creative source of everything. Thus we can conclude that rather that rather than a black, vague mush of nothingness, thought, energy, quanta have a vibrant and alive 'source' of imaginable capacity. Study the designs of nature to see this. If free energy tech exists it comes from this mind, not the mush of a New Age toroid or vague nothingness of Ki hippydom.

  • When we talk knowledge, we may of course refer to the knowledge that a quiz master has (which some may say is perfunctory, others the spice of life), then there is the knowledge of a professor may have (which others still would say is perfunctory and 'learned' but which may still be useful). Then there is the knowledge which mystics and Ki Jedis claim to have which comes from the singularity of Zen or the end of a spliff or whatever method they claim.

  • This characters hubris, in utter disregard for the level of New Age Err they may commit is the only thing 'divine' about them. The common New Age spiel that Zen is the cessation of knowledge, thought, personal karma, history and so on would explain the vacated nature of New Age drones. Would such a faux mystic rather look at the actual nature of knowledge, information and knowing (without subtext being, of course, that such things are obtainable by themselves alone)

  • The first heads to roll if Ueshiba was to see the modern New Age mess in front of him would be the 'love and harmony' Jedis. Such people are like Leslie Nielson's character in 'Airplane' recapitulating intermittently and assuredly the phrase 'Good luck, we're all counting on you' regardless of the the actual situational developments. In other words they are 'repeaters', literally programmed to regurgitate love and harmony spiel where actual thought may otherwise prevail.

  • he just need sunglasses to seem to master Roshi

  • In many ways, I am being judgemental because the New Age was meant to make you think this way, neatly guiding you into conscious evolution in a New humanity, no need for a magic torus to see that. Something tells me Ueshiba himself would whip up his own salvo of eugenics on many of the current pseudo Budoka of the NA.

  • People who recite New Age Platitudes, 'The Power of Now' generation, don't understand that the 'Now' exists in an infinitely complex substrate of all that has been and all that will be. It is every multi verse, yet can be as simple as breath. But lets not fixate too much on the beauty of words, Ueshiba said himself his work was not complete at death, yet how much of the vile New Age that has spawned around him would believe themselves infallible.

  • People who want to feel 'special' through identification with a martial art (how sad to be honest) are just playing the 'we are so elevated above the gentile' game and really lack their own personal or spiritual identity, which is a much sounder way of going about things. People who want to annihilate the spice of life of culture and history commit the crime of being bores above all else and egotists at worst who will drink from the fountain, but never drop a coin in.

  • If Ueshiba was to return here to complete his cycles of samsara across the planes of existence, you think he would be handing out awards to the bunnies, the ignominious posers, the zeig heil to the image of the Maitreya types? No, he would be planting the foot of the phoenix up the derrière of every Judas and fraud starting with his sons outwards. You think he wouldn't expose, as I have done, the New Age, or bring about a fuller understanding of historical and methodological aspects to Aikido?

  • The purpose of this is to shed some light on the hidden New Age aspects of this martial art. Like any good New Ager, Aikidoka will act like cultists until they are shown up in public, when they will feel (correctly) some embarrassment (shows you their metal somewhat). What do you think Ueshiba (who was far from perfect) would say about the modern day 'boiled egg dropped in a hakama' type Aikidoka. You want some nice platitudes? recite 'think one point' mindlessly to yourself.

  • I took Aikido in college. It's not hypnotism lol

  • aikido is a martial art, it has little relevance in today's culture of mma physicality and brawling, to compare street fighting (who beats who) with aikido demonstrations I think is foolish; aikido's core idea can be applied to many things in life, including fights, but of course in a "real" fight no one is going to grab you by the wrist...

  • @IsDucasse in aikido the only belt that you use escapes from wrist grabs is the white one,in the others you learn to use the tecnique escape from attacks

sorry if my english's not perfect,i'm still learning it

  • @WadaEric2011 bullshit, sir.It only depends on the school, the sensei and the student himself.

  • LOL funny, you people have no understanding of aikido, ive trained in aikido and it is very real, the more the attacker aggresses ueshiba the more their ki is turned against them, it has to do with manipulating the flow of momentum ...... simple ..

  • B O O L - - - S H I T ....... !!!

  • hahahaha.. fake shit.. go watch UFC and MMA...ufc fighter over this old fucker

  • this is all set up way too well. I don't see how this would work in an actual fight under pressure. The attackers are all so relaxed and they let their limbs fly through the air. In real life, people tense up their bodies in weird ways. This looks more like a beautiful dance.

I do respect the philosophical and spiritual aspects to Aikido, but I'm having a hard time seeing it being truly useful in real combat. Maybe just observing the enemy's Ki etc

  • @porlino87 its not set up, my neighbour met a master of aikido and he ( the master) asked my neighbour to attack him. my nighbour is a good fighter, he made lots of fight arts. so he attacked him but 20 centimetres in front of him he just fell down, and he told me that he felt like in a hangover.

I`m from switzerland and still learning english, so I`m sorry if I made any mistakes :)

  • @porlino87 if you did not relax while attacking the defender on practice like this. i'm telling you my friend only 1 technique you cannot stand again.

    どこからどう見ても大東流合気柔術だがね。

  • who wanna mess with this old guy

  • 植芝師範の経歴解説に大東流が語られてないね

  • Uke syndrome's been around a long time.

  • @theblacksashman What are you writing all of this for? What's your intention with this?

  • @DennisTheDane I agree with your comment. "theblacksashman" dont get me wrong. Im not here to provoke or anything. Im just courious because I train Aikido and Im wondering what you are trying to say with all this.

  • Real aikido! :D

    Unfalsed and pure!

  • *Left brained and/or hindbrained not right brained.

  • These 'hostings' can also create religious experience, depression etc etc but often you have little personal spiritual life. This is why I say Modern Aikido (tm), the centralised, 'big corp' stuff which looks like mass, mecca and the exhumation of L. Ron rolled in to one infront of Maitreya Ueshiba, the teachyourkidsAikipcspeak and mairteyainthemiddleeast, must be decentralized so real learning of 'Aiki' be handed back to the people (who have much more talent anyway and actually care).

  • New Age Groups, and I have seen so many of them, mostly have some form of ritual, oath etc and it is NOT theory that the purpose of this is to 'synch' your energy body with lower so called 'reptilian' streams of consciousness, simply you are prepared to be a 'host' for something you dont want to be. The symptoms of this? Increased servility, hive mindedness, lower sense of humour, calculating right brained personality, shollowness with religious obsessiveness, compulsions, lowered conscience etc

  • Now the 'esoteric' part, I have never been to a Captain Kirk convention although according to ;The worst fight scene ever' on Youtube, he may have known who the real 'enemy' is. Now to regain some air of seriousness, you may wonder why someone would bother making all these control systems and how they work. Many people find esoteric or sci fi stuff far fetched, but with 'awakening' of higher energies you find it hard to dismiss these things.

  • These institutions, not just according to those engulfed in a cloud of green smoke and the melifluous modulations of Bob Marley, are the underpinnings of modern society and certainly these shitty New Reigious groups.

  • Why people feel so chagrined about 'Babylon' is its propensity to take anything which may be good, or at least a heartfelt expression of 'spirituality' and turn it into a form of manipulation. Note, Mystery Babylon does not refer to 'mysticism' which is neutral but black mysticism or 'Brotherhood of the Snake'/tower of Babel/various abominations against god type institutions which existed in the city state.

  • Ueshiba, like many mystics or just anyone who doesn't rely on sonambulent thinking and blind following may have had a passion for his subject (internal power) and he may have had a certain vision or message spiritual or otherwise. The issue is that modern Aikido is what would be called simply 'Babylon' in Iyaric/Livalect (to appease certain New Agers).

  • The problem with such 'the essence of Budo is peace....' thinking is not that it is wrong but, like most New Agers, you rely on guesswork and sloppy thinking, a spiritual ennui infuses everything you do. Because so many New Agers just recite words on cosmic playback, explaining 'spiritual' concepts to them is almost impossible. They already 'know' all there is to know. You can almost hear the mental cogs turning when a 'spiritual' or IP concept arises, then the guessswork begins.

  • It is the beauty martial art.

  • *Nuremburg

  • Overall we can say with confidence that these Ki hippies and New Agers lower the standard of martial arts and humanity in general, like a black hole sucking the weak and gullible into thier poisonous, purfunctory teachings (all the while taking themselves very seriously). Obstreperous vocalising of catchphrases is just one expression of this delusion. Being told you are a special flower child of the New World/Mystery Babylon doesnt help ones ability for humility or learning sadly.

  • Of course there is some small truth to these vagaries. Ting Jin (Listening) Focused mind/yi, mindfulness of body emotions, thoughts, energy. Exessiveheat/anxiety/anger etc will literally effect the nervous/energetic system and ability for song/relaxation and connectivity. Yet you will find people with 30/40 years of practicing buzzwords still requiring 'feedback' (usually inaccurate) from thier teacher. If you train IT properly you should have a degree of self responsibility for this.

  • An example of this 'buzzword'' driven New Age would be the kind of 'Ki hippie' bio feedback type exercises you see to develop a 'correct feeling' for erm..power. Usually the teacher will offer advice such as relax half half half, send your negatviity to one point, and usually this will become an opportunity to vociferate whatever Glastonbury Zen thoughts they have; 'relinquish the need to control','let it happen', 'be the flow' there are no limit to these buzzwords incidentally.

  • *Try not to fight your martial brothers and sisters (is that not the real 'brotherhood' rather than these ridiculous peace loveki frauds) or spin stories about how one day you will bounce every mofo from here to Chinatown around (it won't happen). There are things to learn from the sports paradigm and vice versa. Hopefully this is common sense.

  • Anyway, there are some strong IT people and generally good people in these groups, as well as many damaged goods. I know the New Age party line is that the only enemy is within and the rest is flowers and bumblebees, but if there is indeed an enemy in the 'external world' hiding in the Shadows (there is) it would be preferable that if things start getting weird (which they very well may), you are a little bit more effective than a Ramen noodle in martial capability.

  • I quick note on the etheric 'sheath'. A Shaman (the old style) can spend weeks or months repairing damage to this (and those who do a lot of 'truth telling' have to put up with so called 'psychic attacks' to this body which is nice). This is one area where visualisation can be useful to bring back our natural sense of self containment (I dont mean defensiveness or paranoia).

  • Concepts such has heaven, man, earth and in/yo in thier physical and philosophical aspects can reveal volumes over time and you can study them at your own pace even in your own time. Remember there are many 'Asian' medical/herbal/acupuncture etc texts which deal with damage from bad 'energy' practices, and this is even in cases where the New Age isn't involved. The old ways of balance are the safe way, and their beauty far more subtle.

  • The New Age hates the real 'old' practices, and look how well it has eradicated them and replaced them with the quick fire buzzword opiation we see today. It hates them because they are empowering; a mind/body that is balanced can not be swayed by charismatic leaders chanelling who knows what like the regretful events at Neurenburg and so on. They are not forceful or full of fire and brimstone, they are like the quiet dignity of a tree, nurturing life.

  • This is why say New Agers have no esoteric compass. It is an error to think that New Age practices are completely BS. Some of these agressive 'kundalini' style yogas, virulently excessive breathing practices, and many other forceful practices can massively overload the nadis and destroy the natural etheric 'boundery'/sheath that are good for a healthy mind/ body. This is not without design, because an energy body like this can be posessed/controlled/is susceptable to suggestion etc.

  • The thing to be mindful of is that that the Christian tumult that 'Mystery Babylon' (aka deist worship of 'lower' vibrational energies), has taken over the show, is quite correct (yes, they have little insight into thier own predicament). Somewhere along the line 'love thy neigbour' became 'be an insufferable bigot', deep native practices became dancing around letting who knows what woo woo into your psyche etc etc. It would be foolish to think that this doctering and overwriting is accidental.

  • *Zhuan jin=turning/drilling power (getting rusty on these names) Luoxuan Jin=spiral power (as well as other names).

  • Note I am also not critisizing the good souls of any country (one mans cup o cha is another mans O Cha and that is all good), but lets face it Capitol Hill doesn't have that 'land of the Pharoahs' vibe for no reason. Remember (as a child) back to before you were told what you were in these terms, before you 'knew' Ergaster and heidlebergenisis were your forbears (I know many in MA may look like it) or that Ueshiba was Messiah, Is there not creativity and vitality (a form of power) in this?

  • I feel I should point out the horribly erroneous thinking of the Ki Hippie with regards to IP. I am aware that many of 'Ki excersises' look (very vaguely) at say the relationship between tension and relaxation (you will find far superior in RMA and even calisthenics), but the idea of drawing energy/power out of your MA is, again, silly at best and dangerous at worst. The 'ghostly' skills of IP come through power, even surging, palpable power, and are refined from there.

  • Returing to In Yo/'Parity' of which there are so many examples which pertain to IP (left and right hemispheres of brain, Bai Hui/Hui Yin, Ren Mai/Du Mai etc) there are also more 'lateral' forms of parity such as the endocrine system to the Dantian/Chakra system and blood/nervous and 'connective' tissue system to the meridian system. I mention this because there are people who get reasonable IP results without believing in an energetic system at all.

  • A quick note on In Yo/'Parity' of which there are so many examples which pertain to IP (left and right hemispheres of brain, Bai Hui, Hui Yin Ren Mai, Du Mai etc etc), There are many more 'lateral' forms of pairity such as endocrine system to dantian/chakra system and blood/nervous/ 'connective' tissue system to meridian system. I mention this because there are people who get reasonable IP results without even believeing in an energetic system.

  • Its like the Library of Alexandria (an Elitist institute with a 'let them eat cake' attitude to most that paid thier dues), people who join New Age groups or get hazed in a forest or swear oaths to reach the inner circle of Hogwarts are by and large percieved as losers (for good reason). You can ignore the cautionary tales of Goethe and take these routes, but you will end up eating a lot of cake, or worse.

  • You wouldnt be surprised if soon they projected a full on laser show on the Kabbah of all the gurus people are supposed to worship in the loving one world (dont worry Ueshiba will have his corner of the cube). If you don't know what I am talking about, fret not, put your hand on your heart and begin 'oh, say can you see, by the dawn's...'. But perhaps stay in that trailer as you do it, the world will be a safer place.

  • If we talk about wolves in sheeps clothing, you dont need to read Chomsky, Steven Jones etc etc to know the biggest wolf often lies on ones doorstep proudly wearing it's stars and stripes. To look at the reverse side of any good chess set up, look at, for example what a mess political Islam is. How Makkah gradually becomes a Las Vegas styled New Age nonsense as they await Al Mahdi/the messiah.

  • What I mean by Aikido being part of the New Age is that it is the proverbial 'ravenous wolf in sheeps clothing'. To an extent anyone setting out to embody Ueshibas philosophy is doomed because few New Agers can see where truth ends and lies start. Take the time honoured martial skill of Aiki/IP which some New Agers translate as a series of catchisms, ways of living up to whatever hedgemonic/patriotic belief system or any belief system they may have (yes, New Agers wil stoop quite low)

  • *Ren and Du meridians

  • The idea that Aikido is is part of a mendacious New Age is not theory or just 'black helicopter' rantings. Bad or incorrect 'esoteric' teachings, which are par the New Age course, are like a cancer especially when dealing with something like the energy body.

  • @theblacksashman I'm curious, what do you mean by Aikido being part of a mendacious New Age? Or did I read that wrong?

Not looking for a YouTube debate, just reading different ideas from different people.

  • While I dont want to pick on the Ki Hippy too much, as an example, following an overly simplistic four principles will not develop the necessary body (Earth) for budo nor will it accomodate the higher energies which do exist (Heaven) and which needs a very high level of body development. I believe there are some good IMA people in Aikido who understand how to produce the necessary body. Mystical ramblers can be like 3 minute bedroom wonders, too quick to get somewhere exciting.

  • On gogyo: this concept is found in esoteric writings throughout the world, why? We must remember everything is a hologram, read Desiderata (yes it is cheesy). The Asians always linked the inner cosmology of the body with nature and even the cosmos; why? Simply, they operate on the same principals (in an infinite multiverse). Watch how fire and steam tries to find the highest ground and water the lowest, the Ren and Mai meridians are like this, as within so without. You start with the body.

  • In Western and Eastern traditions the hara is sometimes depicted as a cauldron which is just because when we heat a cauldron (yi/consciousness/heat/light) an 'alchemy' occurs, water becomes steam; jing, chi, shen. Many of the 'ghostly' things good IMA people can do and the 'spiritual development' aspect of IP is based on this. Quite literally your energy system becomes more refined like the kami's. I am not saying IP is 'all about energy' there are physical connections the yi must work on too.

  • I return to the question of what is yi or intent? The analogy of a laser beam is fair because we know that light can be very scatterd or very focused. There are now acupuncture machines that use lasers insted of needles to stimulate meridians. This is interesting, because this is exactly what we do when we put the intent in the body. Our mind is the laser, it is the needle. The mother of all tsubo/xuewei/acupoints for this focus is the hara 'the sea of chi'.

  • You must understand the fustrations of IP people who have become very 'yin'/receptive when listening to New Agers opining about power and endless vocifourous esoteric lectures about the nature of the universe. The realisation is that inspite of their clames of having an 'empty mind' in most cases the New Age cup brimeth over, they are very 'yang' in thier mental life. Most of these people do not have even a modicium of an understanding about how to create the types of 'jin' described below.

  • From an ICMA perspective, we can say that Aikido is primarily concerned with one of the jin/forces categorised in various martial cannons (yes it is a very basic art)zhuan jin or spiralling power. Of course even this 'jin' has In and Yo aspects, tun and tu (spit and swallow for want of better terms) This can be seen in most Aikido blends and projections or when you drop a leaf into the eddying currents and vortices of a stream if you like Daoist imagery (the leaf gets sucked in or spat out)

  • As an aside, many founders of 'mystic' traditions speak of this (not in thier political versions of course). The Quran says that god created nature in a balance and 'we have created pairs that you might be mindful'. Christianity has the 'Narrow gate', which may also refer to the Sushumna. What plan the 'Jinn' have for the New Age is another thing.

  • I am not interested in such things because they are 'Asian' or saying them in a whispering tone gets you an Asian girlfriend, but because the 'old' models ' are strong and acurate from a 'holographic'/shamanic perspective and would stand the test of time in a room full of therapists, doctors and New Agers in their head scratching cerebrality. In Yo Ho, Gogyo, Ten Chi Jin etc so fundamental in IMA and also practical not wishy washy.

  • The New Age loves imbalance, for example the New Age is very much 'Charasmatic'. tradition. How would this be classified from a 'five elements' perspective? It would be fire, along with say, confidence, sensuality, joy but what happens if we ignore other 'elements' we become hubristic, histrionic and so on, water is contemplative and meditative but too much and we become lugubrious, pessimistic. The 'oni' love imbalance bacause they are unbalance.

  • People (for example) who deny the study of In Yo Ho in an internal martial cannot be studying an internal art (fullness/ emptyness, balancing left and right etc). Any time you break wuji/50/50 stance you are in a relationship with In and Yo. We have all heard about singularity and the sine wave in physics and mathematics; no In and Yo, No energy/matter, i.e no anything. The original MA'ists were not bound by dogma, they were able to explore the nature of things with a clear mind.

  • You must excuse me if I seem to be critisizing people who are perfectly erudite and are actually exploring similar things relating to MA, I have respect for people trying to sort through the chaos, the Asian habit of keeping stum hardly suits the Western mind. Whenever 'esoteric' knowledge of a country is stored (i.e Lib of Alexandria) then is released in New Age forms (i.e Aikido) the result is always the same.

  • The somewhat New Age idea of 'otaku' , believeing the martial greats suffered hindbrain derailed martial OCD (forgetting many had multiple other creative outlets-the calligrapher as great swordsman blah-the Gracies have a good perspective on this, not being a complete slave to training). The massively hierarchical lower cerebellum inspiring New Age orgs which means it probably does take twenty years before a New Ager can even look one of its ridiculouly titled 'masters' in the eye. etc etc

  • 'Healing' Aikido sounds like something someones grandmother may do with ribbons, but this means building a body that can fight, which is what IP was once for. On the same side of this there is pressure testing, sparring of course. In Yo ho. Also, awareness of Abuse/trauma based mind control (not just military) and the high% of abusers hiding in the cult woodwork. Patterns of abuse which spread from teacher to student, not unlike certain churches (well they have the same adnin at top level)

  • The New Age (and many things in the world) destroy and posess the light body and lock us in 'basal brain'; dogma, pedantry, mendacity, obsfucation etc. New Agers need to get over 'personalities', whose master had the nicest haircut (yes, Ueshiba's was very nice) and start sharing insights of things that actually matter, such as healing and IP, especially healing I would say, or we can shove our collective shadow under the carpet. I have just suggested a few excersises, there are so many more.

  • This is why it is worrying when 'Jedi' types say things like the power of Aiki lies in extending ki through a hose pipe. This is bollocks, The yi must be in the body (in stillness and movement), extending ki does exist of course but these ki blasters are actually advising something quite dangerous. Also remember, all spiritual stuffs 'i.e koan' do work if done in stillness/ awareness, we can ask thise things with our attention at the various dantian head/heart etc (again these are excersises).

  • What about 'higher mind skills' such as reading auras, divination, fortune telling etc which many hippies get very excited by and which the old men of the East often claimed to do? These things obviously do exist and we do it all the time to an extent, the skills are not far off IP, in that they are about where you hold your attention. Remember the best place for the yi is in and around the body (unless yu are a shaman perhaps) we are 'embodied spirit' so we can't ignore the body.

  • Also preparation and respect for the energy body is something many IP people ignore. Preparing the energetic body before IP excersises i.e. massaging the dantian, sacrum, mingmen, tapping, slapping the meridians and 'closing' an IP session,i.e pressing the 'jade pillow', gounding the energy through the ground and and hara, how many people ignore this?(again these are just excersises). Many Western IMA peole have too much 'heat' in the system (TCM concept) which is from lack of attention to this.

  • Neurtal stance and hanmi is a good place to mork on weighting, stucture, attention mind, alignments. For those who do not feel too comfortable 'in' the body (there may be many reasons for this), work on expanding your awareness in the space around the body, bring awareness to the 'field' feeling that it is balanced in all directions of a 'dynamic sphere' (again this is just another excersise).

  • I will categorise IP/healing together because one has potential for the other. But New Agers should not be afraid of sharing valid IP teqniques (there are many). For example to experience the Ren meridian (Yin) we can 'mind track' from the bai hui to the perinium, out hands/laogong can track with mind through the meridian and we should be able to sense the quality of energy in the meridian (remember this is just one excersise)

  • The reason I say this is because like it or not the New Age/NWO cults face a crisis of healing (true of the world in general for sure). From a 'Shamianic' perspective (and maybe some western therapies in lesser %) many forms of illness/mind control/truama show up visibly in the body, and the various 'auric fields'. It is a misunderstood topic but all 'shakey hand' gangs and New Age sillyness (of which Aikido is a part) massively damage this structure (it's called brain washing).

  • This is just for starters.

  • New Agers should know (for starters) about concepts such as the dantian, Ren meridian and Mai meridian which any acupuncture chart will show to be of huge importance (also forming the MCO). They should know most of the main tsubo (surface and deep), as well of the significance of yi (mind) qi/ki, the relationship and difference to western anatomical models. They should understand sacrum, alignments body 'pairs' (i,e elbow and knees), the chakra system, mingmen, intention etc etc.

  • You hear some supposed high level IP people saying things like 'Chi may have something to so with some etheric substance in and around the body'. This is strange, Chi is not like blah blah it IS the etheric body. People need to understand this as well as the meridian system, the anatomical and energetic points that relate to IP. They should also be aware of (models vary) the existence of emotional /mental/astral bodies of the 'aura'.

  • The problem with New Age cultism such as Aikido is that people are far too willing to give thier power away to the messiah without owning thier own practice. Moreover, particularly the field of IP, the lack of asiduity and just plain torpescence is surpising. You may know hundreds of techniques or the exact details of Ueshibas life (often bordering on 'National Enquirer' type obsession) but if you have no esoteric map or compass, what is the point?

  • @theblacksashman I read as far back your comment summarizing "if you have no esoteric map or compass, what is the point?" I think I understand your position.

I have a question, assuming your premise that Aikido falls into New Age cultism is true. If someone sets out to embody Ueshiba's philosophy, are they doomed from the start by taking a first-step that is esoterically untrue/inaccurate? Or are they folly only so long as they are preaching what is not and can not be practiced?

  • what a great man, we used to have a huge picture of him at the side of the mat and show respect and meditate before training

  • The thing that bothers me is that the students seem so theatrical in their follow through, as if they are choosing a pattern intended to exagerate the flow of evergy.

  • my hero

  • Fake obviously. Anyone who knows anything about real fighting can tell that.

Now the Japanese developed some very effective ways of beating the crap out of someone, true. But they also invented alot of mystical ki mumbo jumbo. (Or rather they got both of those things from China and gave it their own spin.)

Here's a good rule of thumb. As soon as it gets more mystical then breathing or moving properly, it's voodoo nonsense.

  • @TheSkunkCat there is nothing mystical about ki, you are just too ignorant to understand.

  • Namaste...this is so cool!

  • Thank you for posting this video of Ueshiba O Sensei. I greatly appreciate any video footage of O Sensei I can find.

  • If you have studied a "REAL MARTIAL ART" you must know that the Martial arts wouldn't be used for harm others, it's a discipline and it should be used wisely if you think you can harm other just because the way they look at you or maybe because you just want to exteriorise your ego, then it's true that you don't even understand what aikido or even what the martial arts must be.

  • @RagdelStarrk

Martial arts where developed originally as a way of both armed and unarmed fighting in armies actually.

Although later more self-defense oriented ways where developed as well.

Unfortunately many classic martial arts also tended to accumulate alot of religious nonsense. (Like ki hypnotism and such.)

  • @koobphong as my sensei says: Aikido is for everyone, but not everyone are for Aikido, maybe you will be more happy if you buy a gun

  • @koobphong Martial arts can hurt other people if this is necessary to prevent further harm.

But it is not used to be violent, but to prevent violence.

BEcause of this, martial arts, at least the budo arts, have a moral which is passed down to the practioners, or at least, should be passed down to them.

In my opinion, you train martial arts to be able to defend yourself and still to not have to resort to violence.

  • @koobphong This is one f the funniest, but so true sayings i've read on youtube. Thumbs up!

  • @koobphong Hi, try looking at it from a different perspective. You learn how to kick and punch to hurt someone, so you can stop an attack. STOPPING an attack is the GOAL of kicks and punches. Hurting is the means of stopping the attack, not the goal. Aikido also wants to stop the attack, but does it with compassion. You choose not to knock an attacker's teeth out to stop him, you show compassion to the attacker by only controlling his attack and showing it's useless to attack.

  • @koobphong I'd explain to you the true meaning of the Martial Arts, but, you're so shallow and superficial you wouldn't understand!

  • @koobphong Because in order to learn how to not do something, we must first learn how to do it. Otherwise we'll just end up doing it by accident one day, anyway. By training how to punch and kick we can keep ourselves from doing it, unless it's strictly necessary.

You can win a fight by simply not getting into it and learning a martial art gives you the confidence and peace of mind to deal with a tight situation without blowing it out of proportion and start killing everyone in the room.

  • @Junjokar Yeah! To fight to protect. one must learn how to kill, so they can 'learn how to -not kill-'.

    I completely agree.

But I also think its fun to fight. Fighters are use to being bruised & cut up. That experienced fighters, their bodies are built up to defend against constant blows or kicks. People who just worksout & gets into fight are more liable to kill themselves tripping on a rock. A True fighter can handle a fall to rocky grounds than one who bleeds after a punch to the nose.

  • Comment removed

  • @koobphong Man, you seriously are making a habit of missing the point.

  • @koobphong By not using them to go and hurt people, but using them minimally for self-defense instead. The masters I studied/study martial arts under are people that would do whatever to resolve a conflict with words first before wanting to resort to violence ... even if they did, they would try to cause minimal damage as much as the situation allows.

Basically, walk around with the mindset: "I do not want to hurt anybody nor get hurt myself"

  • @koobphong Another person who doesn't understand martial arts.

  • @koobphong Of course many martial arts are derived and created from the need to kill or mame another human being. But the essense of true Budo must lie in forgivness and preserving oneself AND the attacker.

You don´t have to like this kind of thinking, maybe it´s an "ism" in its thinking... Maybe it´s not very likely that we can create such a socuiety, but one has to try and fullfill these thinkings if we are to survive as a race..... please, comment!! :)

  • Hélio Gracie would have submitted this guy into oblivion.

  • @TheTSina Different types of Martial Art. Both are very practical, and both address important aspects of the fight.

  • funny video :D

  • @noklarok

beware, you and your friends might be full of shit too.

  • I am bored of Aikido cats not using their brain on this one,, Ueshiba is full of shit.. my friend thinks he 'merged with the universe' ,, i fucking doubt it. Another friend studied KI- Aikido for years and talked about putting KI into his punches,, he got his face slashed 40 times by a thug in the street.

Tai Chi, Bagua, X'ing Yi, Aikido can all be amazing,, but it all too often strays into bullshit,, like elderly Ueshiba obviously did. I study Tai Chi + Bagua and have studied Aikido.

  • Excuse the diatribe. For more on IPR (zzzz perhaps) see 'the gridlock economy'. What? 'The System (tm)' can hold back innovation, never knew that. As I have said the New Age 'system' is a horrible answer to the lack of 'spirituality (tm)' in the world. It shows little or no respect to the old traditions that its appointed 'leaders' may have followed, seemingly paradoxically it allows for little creativity within the frameworks of these traditions. In short, avoid the New Age.

  • New Agers may be 'intellectual' but have no intellectual integrity. 'Aikido', like most New Age stuff was born of trauma, wartime and family loss for Ueshiba. Oomoto/the NRM/New Agery was the guiding light for Aikido and still is. Even in Japan, the NRM cast suspicion, the degree to which 'Aikido' is seen as New Age in Japan is a matter of awareness, certainly it is not so relevant as 'Samurai culture' to Japanese, rightly so, as it is a kind of 'kabbalah centre' of MA, meaning drones lap it up.

  • To continue the 'musical' analogy' Ueshibians, Ki Jedi's, Cultists etc tend to follow puppetmaster-fu (messiah worship) by wrote without realising there may be some form of musical theory (Heaven,Man,Earth, 6 harmonies etc etc) behind what Ueshiba did. Ironically, by ignoring the basics, they lack the creativity to 'transcend' the basics. Did Ueshiba practice IT and more (i.e Kami worship, Metta bavna, tantric shoji screen busting) probably, he was also a New Age follower.

  • Yes, everyone should follow thier own unique 'pulse', especially if they are involved in New Age crapola. It is like the topic of IPR/'ownership' (interested?) i.e music industry, which is not so much about whether this should exist but how tight it should be and more importantly WHO owns what?; the artiste strumming the 'super strings' of thier heart or some scaley puppetmaster pulling unseen threads of manipulation.

  • *note, with the various jin/forces (ding jin, peng jin, zhai jin etc), they need to be held in the body mind through stillness/awareness in order to 'burn them in' to the energetic/etheric circuitry of the body/mind complex, increasing the range of pathways, potentialities for martial application. Ueshiba was clearly doing this. All the messiah worship is New Agery of the darkest/lowest kind. Have discernment ppl.

  • The structure of Ueshibas 'Aikido' expresses a very limited range of what is possible in MA/IMA (the same can be said of other systems). Ueshiba was largely following the dictates of the Budo Senyokai (the initials of which should be raised on a flagpole outside most Aikido dojo's) and other related cultic New Age groups. I understand the idea that some sporting/militariy inspired systems have lost their 'spiritual' training (a generalisation), but the New Age is not the answer to this.

  • @theblacksashman I think Master Morihei has done something great by bringing Aikido to people. Noboby/nothing is perfect. He's done his one. Maybe should you complete his Art if you think it's limited.

  • Also, though spouting fancy phrases in another language (easy) may prove your worth to some people, I would be more impressed by someone who can explain these things unpretentiously, through a range of paridigms. Internal skills (tm) are not just the perogative of someone who looks a dashing Obi Wan, but must resonate with people from ANY martial (or sporting) discipline. Sorry to poop on any narcissistic kick any IT person secretly yearns for.

  • Also note that some of the pettiest debates occur within this gaggling group. Does xyz refer to something physical or energetic? is the80/20 weightedness of xyz system a bad thing? Good for a laugh...maybe.Better understand the significance of Xin/Yi (Mind/intent), (Yi/Qi) mind/energy,(Qi/Li) Energy/Strength first. Xu Ling Ding Jin is an internal/mindfulness idea both physical AND energetic, aligning 'heaven and earth'. Have tried to avoid snazzy IMA terms, but they can be useful.

  • Remember, many IMA people are confused too. People who talk about 'Jin', 'frame' etc, with an air of piety and expertise (though normally this is valuable to an large extent ) may lack an undertanding of the role of 'mind' when conditioning the body (many many IMA people know much less than they pretend and have little humour about this fact!). ding jin is one of the most important 'jin' helping oneself/structure into the concept of 'center'/mushin/singularity' where other jin/forces come from.

  • Aikido is about harmony with your opponant. You embrace the attack and become one when you latch on or make contact and thus channeling the momentum of the attackers entire body into the joint you are locking.

  • Without sounding like a Ki Jedi person, basic physics tells us that the only difference between say a jet of water and a lazer beam is a question of frequency/sin wave. It is not that these subtle jin skills are 'no strength' like some kind of noodle, it is just a different (more focused) used of intent, trained over time. In other words, the basic training method is the same. Repeat, this is not an encouragement to join the secret society of Ki Jedi's.

  • An example of this New Agery is something like the notion that beacause IS has theword 'strength' in it, it is not what Ueshiba was doing (and certainly not what a meat head in a cage may be doing). I understand this to a point. New Agers are usually fascinated with certain types of 'jin'/energies(ICMA concept) for example subtle types of 'leading jin' (What Ueshiba seemed to be good at).

  • The fact this doesn't happen (resurrection required) tells you something about the world as it is. To give a flash (and probably unpopular) judgement, the latter 'team' may need to raise thier game IMO. It probably comes down to personality, but most MMA stuffs does exactly what it says on the tin, but 'esoteric' stuff is largely incomprehensible in its New Age version. If it was meant to be too far out and pious to be practical, what in Gods name is it for?

  • If you get on with people on both sides of the so called sports/live and trad/esoteric side of things (should this be so hard?) the carnage you see is often bizarre. To give a slightly puerile example, if a super seminar was held with a line up including say, Manny Paquiao, Geoff Thomson, and a Gracie on team 'live' and Miyamoto Musashi, Cheng Man Ching and Jesus of Nazareth on team 'esoteric', you would hope everyone would have a good day out.

  • Ten, Jin, Chi features in Japanese culture too clearly, as with many Asian cultural cross overs (many people forget the background in which these New Age leaders grew up) and in terms of physical 'gong' it is highly apparent in Aikido as a concept. But just because 'someone picks up a part of the truth' doesn't mean the devil cant 'help them arrange it'. The same can be said of many 'spiritual' leaders.

  • This is not a new thought tag line for depressives anonymous btw. If noone points out there are weeds in your yard (our yard) who will make the clean up efforts? Where are those wheelbarrow visualising guys when you need them?

  • It should also be noted that those who understand NOR (via meditation, natural ability etc) tend to find it hard to take New Agers, starry eyed at their world international plenary intra planetary peace and one love federation conference for brotherhood and interpeacefulness seriously. When consciousness evolves you don't become this blob of love. You become aware, of sadness, control, that which is hidden, and other stuff that people find hard to believe. Groundedness during this time is needed

  • I am being quite 'old school' when saying 'body awareness, structure etc first'. Remembering heaven, man, earth (ICMA concept). Grounding at 'Earth/Hara' is mearly something many New Agers (think 'wierdki' types lost in a world of cosmic, astral floatsam and jetsam) lack. NOR is a huge topic, studies 'esoteric' and otherwise show its use in sports/life etc. Those who truely understand it excersise certain cautions at certain levels. In IT there are many applications of this (teacher dependent).

  • judo, aikido both come from jujitsu. when you do jujitsu you are using the priciples of aikido along with all the judo throws, holds joint locks, which judo also uses the principles of aikido. the pratice of aikido alone gives a person a better understanding of how they are using it in their martial arts training and different ideas on how they can incorporate those principles in their fighting stratedgy.

  • This is why if you have the baseline body ability/Aiki, you can go and focus on meditations, prayers or whatever to send great Love in to the universe, or you can go and beat someone around in a cage, or anything in between. But the New Age, in fact harbours such intolerance for anything that is not dogma 101 use of 'Aiki'. Even if a test group were given exactly the same MA training (forbid) from birth, they would all have different expressions, but the New Age is about uniformity so...

  • To get back on track, these spiritual ki types invariably believe that thier body has become a conduit for the universe that will rectify the negative Karma of an attack, just by rite of their very beingness. While it may be true that a person with this so called centered, Loveki aura may be less of a target than a trouble seeker, most LoveKi types lack the body skills development MA people should be going for. Takemusu is born of effort, not lovely imaginings (although these have a place).

  • This is slightly fecetious of course because these 'non ordinary reality' things have a place in the world of the shaman, poet, psychic, artist, mesmerist, healer etc. In the New Age martial arts, we know they feature quite heavily with ideas such as 'as someone grabs your wrist, push a wheelbarrow and be invincible' (makes you good at gardening). Now while this imagination/energetic connection is real, we have to understand it, nor can we dismiss the more basic trainings of the body.

  • Now in these groups things like 'creative visualisation' were hot topics. An example. Bring your awareness into your ajna chakra or the space in your head. In your minds eye you see a silly hat, you see silver chords extending from your solar plexus to this silly hat, now...cut the chords...be free of your attatchments!' Or 'you see a man named the Maitreya in your minds eye who appears as a bearded guru, you prostrate, now...pick yourself off your grubby knees and be free!'

  • It is also worth noting that in the 60's (not an era I knew although the burn outs/victims, definitely), it was of the mode to frequent 'personal growth'/'group awareness' 'alternative' education camps. All the while, the people in the know were probably saying things like 'old white follow big Satan' (Unfashionable to stick up for wise old smithers everytime, but...). These groups still exist of course (Akido being a spin off).

  • This is why myself (and others) will support IT because it is more the kind of thing your grandpa would have shown you 1 on 1 (if you lived in Asia at least, although this is not really Asia specific). Whether people want to admit some degree of Aquarian 'conspiracy' or not (do the research), many people feel that much of the New Age has lead them on something of a headless goose chase. It has, and that is what it was designed for.

  • With all this talk, I am not so sure there is any problem with some business savvy if the product is good. In the way a small business may have to use methods to save time/keep wheels turning. You only need to look at Ueshiba/Deguchi, Tohei/Nakamura's buddies (the supposed 'seperation'of Aikido) to see that the New Age leaders are not exactly the out-of-pocket type. People are so used to this empty 'Big Corp' spirituality they don't know when one of the more decent types comes along.

  • Infact there is no 'potential' to it, these things are a part of IT, just not the whole show.

  • Why is it these New Age Gurus (Nakamura) always find enlightenment on the 3rd holy mountain in Egypt? Why not Wrexham or Grimsby or Slough. Saying this, I have heard there is a new form of pub callisthenics bieng taught on these shores, which develops incredible 'Chi' belly through left and right hand plyometric ale raising. Sure to obliterate the fast food industry of said land. To be taken in jest. Plyometrics, proprioception, kinesthesia=good stuff/potential part of IT.

  • I imagine 'super spiritual' and 'super tough' would make a great little partnership (after deciding who would be Bonnie and who would be Clyde) so far along the opposing ends of the spectrum of delusion they may be.
