I have a question: In the episode "Covenant", Jack O'Neil asked the Asgard: "How about a hyperdrive for the Prometheus?". Why would he ask that if the Prometheus already HAS a hyperdrive. I seen it travel through hyperspace before, so did I miss something?

I hate to say it but I was glad when they got rid of the ship dont get me wrong it was sad and a horrible way to go but the ship was such a bad design, i never liked the design as soon as i saw it, it would never work in real life and stargate base their science on what can be real, now the Daedelus (sry forgor spelling) class ship is amazing and i read an article that said NASA had got a copy of the designs.

Who needs Prometheus when you got the new Daedalus Class Ship....bigger, better equip....and stronger...yes i admit Prometheus was Earth's 1st battle cruiser...but it proved too 'weak' to go against enemies such as the Wraith or the Ori...Goa'uld, maybe....Daedalus is better....and with the new Asgard Beam....it rivals the Aurora class ancient warship....to kick some serious Ori/Wraith ass.....

@isal3 With the numbers of Tauri fleet, every battle ship is usefull. Prometheus was a very good ship. It wasnt the primary attack vessel. "Normal" armies also aren´t consisting only of main battle tanks...

yeah... i was like no way!! when the ori satelite breached the shields, then when they launched the 302's it was hell yeah, but then the saddest thing was watching our first battleship get destroyed...you gotta hate the writters for doing this to us, like killing off the doctors/cast members, and destroying ships(corelev, prometheus, orion)

It was always so overmathced by everything it went up against, and yet always came out on top. First Battle Cruser of the Taurie, (Earth) first of its class and only one of its class.... damn ori..... if only they had those asguard beam weapons then and there they could of won.... which raises up a question... if the asguard weapons equiped to the BC-304 Class ships after "Unending" are powerfull enough to kill an Ori mother ship in like 3 hits, then y the fuck did they not kill the ori mother ships in Camalot (battle of PNY- Something) it dont make sence...

i actually liked the prometheus better than the deadalus i dont know why they stoped production of them they cost less than the deadalus take like 2 month less to build and they could have redesigned the newer models to hold all the lates asgard tech

Because 304s are more capable, and there's over a 5 year gap between building Prometheus and getting the Asgard tech.
