@opmnhoofd its far more complicated than that. Newcastle have a great history. They have a good reputation in France for the treatment of their players. They can be guaranteed first team football week in week out. They can match wages and can pay upfront for players this window. Also there's the fact that a player such as this can come to toon and really make a name for himself rather than be crowded out by other big players at teeams such as Man U and Arsenal.
