One thing that can help is to turn on resource icons; it's one of those buttons above the map, and TBH I have no idea why the game doesn't have it on by default.
The other thing is that unless you are playing multiplayer, there's no need to get guys in your capital too early (Maybe 2500 BC and beyond you could start worrying). People do get pissed if you don't have anyone in your city by pop 4, but one guy is usually enough. Usually you have the time to build a worker first.
Hath not the potter power of the clay, unto make one to honour and one unto dishonour, - means the creator (in this case potter) can choose to do with his creation anything he wants
@R3V0LT12 thank you for that, thank god someone actually listens to what I say in these videos....well atleast I learnt something new today.... intrestingly enough I actually heard that line alittle while ago :p
@Redragonclaws long time ago a friend of mine recommened it...no particular reason though but it is a weird name ill give you that :p Maybe I should ask whyy "Redragonclaws"?
@thelastbeluga Oh. That was my friend's old steam name. But nice job. I'm glad to see somebody posting Beyond the Sword gameplay, becuase Quill18 is the only other person that makes it.
@Redragonclaws thanks appreciate the nice words. I mean I never thought I would get as many views as this when I uploaded my video in May....nice to see people actually watch this
Ok I never played Civ 4 but I just bought Civ 4 complete edition that includes all patches, warlords and beyond the sword. Should I start with the original or can I jump straight into beyond the sword ?
@david111davies I would recommened Civ 4 first, play the tutorial and learn the game a bit before jumping into the other packs because Civ 4 BtS and Warlords add lots of new features to the game so if you do not understand the original it makes it difficult to play the others first. Not saying that you cant but like I said recommened the original first
@RebirthWoWGuild thats for sure, you really need to "know" the game in order to play it well or you make the mistakes I make later on, and multiplayer isnt something I really played, mostly increasing the difficulty on a scenario or play now would be enough...
@thelastbeluga Multiplayer in civ 4 ( in my opinion anyway ) is where it really really shines, that feeling early game when you find out you have copper very near your first city and can get those early axemen out and your rival/enemy*HUMAN PLAYER * near you can only get archers. It's such a satisfying feeling, very fun.
A couple things.... I would recommend to never do auto-explore... it can be a lot more turn for turn efficiency to strategically walk your explorers along... Instead of using explorers, why not use a warrior? Using hills allows line of sight and can uncover things quickly.
Second of all... Do not fear barbarians! Allowing barbarians to come to you is a wise idea if you can defeat them efficiently... The upgrades and the generals can really help when you can upgrade later in the game.
@BlitzedStrike52 hey thanks for the feedback, I will keep that stuff in mind for the next LP I do of the game. Auto explore is something I usually do just because I cant be bothered to micro every unit. And also on that I believe (at least for me) the scouts were designed for what I set them up for, exploring. Explorers only come in after you reach the Medieval Stage.
@TheDjC97 I was actually thinking of doing that....good idea for a second LP of this game....I mainly chose the Roman Empire because of the praetorian gaurds....
first build workers and impruvements than conquer the world my favorite civics are serfdom workers build faster and organised religion +25 production in all cities
@Epso4Real2010 It makes sense though because without it who is gonna guard my cities??? You never know what they AI will do in the game they could at/ declare war within minutes or never at all. Later on though I do build more buildings and such but also capturing cities is extremly important

i think you should of focused on workboats first. get your city to the happy cap and then start whipping when needed.
@TheDjC97
serfdorm is an awful civic compared to what slavery can offer. caste system is also usually better.

It is kind of sad that Civ 5 ditched those cool animations when you build a wonder and now it is just a piece of concept art.
