First off I'm all down for dancing for the Lord because my Pastor is a "hip" pastor but when it comes to music all of it carries a spirit and that's something that you have to be very careful with. I understand they felt that it helped them relate to one another but I feel like it was other ways to go about it. We all have opinions and frankly I don't care about yours I stated mine and that's that. Now defend it all you want. Im out!
I honestly disagree with this form of "reaching different generations". A pastor shouldn't have to take a person back to their B.C. to show them where they came from. EVERYONE knows what they were delivered from and it was a disgrace for that type of music to be played and the church members were dancing as if they don't see anything wrong. ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD KNOW THAT MUSIC CARRIES SPIRITS AND PLAYING THAT TYPE OF MUSIC N THE CHURCH RELEASES THOSE SPIRITS UNTO THE MEMBERS. (NOT TOO SMART)
@CotyWest01 I don't agree w/ u. If you really understood the context of that worship service you wouldn’t come across as being judgmental. Your comments wouldn’t sound like the Law Makers in the Movie Footloose. There is nothing wrong with dancing in Worship. In 2nd Samuel 6 King David danced before the Lord with all his might.
I believe that the members found themselves relating to one another on different a level after that Celebration Service. People can relate to secular music during the history of an era related their development. Different generations like different styles of music when it comes to worship & when it comes to traditional worship services. I’m hard pressed to believe that the older members of that congregation left worship on that day wishes there were more hymns used during the service
@CotyWest01 If you really listened to the Pastors Comments over the course of all the generations, you’ll find this was a creative way in which a Pastor was able to think outside of the box and get a message across in a large congregation with multiples generations of Disciples. If you’re thinking that Pastors in Mega Churches will do anything to entertain their members, you’re wrong when it comes to the Pastor of GTR.
@CotyWest01 Pastor E Dewey Smith, Jr. is a Teacher and a Preacher with Powerful Messages that inspire and empower Christians. I’m not even a disciple of the Church, but my roommate was while I was in seminary and she remains a disciple to this day.
