The only thing in BF3 is, as good as the sound effects are, they're no where near as good as BC2s sound effects. All the sound effects in BC2 were just so detailed, down to the guns echoing off the mountains, to the far away gunfire from other players. They were just a lot more sharper.
They will never bring BC2 maps into BF3 their not in the same series its like saying lets put a black ops map in modern warfare 3!? INMHO BF3 is a great game it is setting the boundaries for fps's to come, BUT! to me it does not feel like battlefield, BC2 ran very well and never let me down. BF3 on the other hand is abit on the glitchy side maps are very untraditional and th egame itself doesnt run very smoothly. TBH I would choose BC1 and BC2 over BF3 anyday. I hope theres a BC3 coming soon!

You have a problem with hit detection in BFBC2? I've never had that problem, unless I'm using the G3, which is extremely inaccurate. Play on low ping dedicated servers, and hit detection should be fine.
rush in BF3 is busted...which is where I really cut my teeth playing BC. Dare I say it...they need to bring back crate bashing if they insist on sticking the MCOM at choke points in BF3. Also...give players some ATVs for flanking.
I don't know it's a tough call. I do like the vehicles for bf3 more as well as many other things but back in the days of bc2 me and a friend would stay up all night laughing our asses off playing bc2 but with bf3 I get angry and rage a lot more and its harder to get friends in the same squad,or team,or even match. Both are great games in my opinion.
I found many of the maps in bc2 more enjoyable. Atacama Desert, Arica Harbor, Oasis, Laguna Presa, Panama Canal... All great maps! I also think they looked less washed out, more colorful and the atmosphere in general felt right for me.
Another (maybe minor) thing I really don't understand in bf3, is why they had to make the menus so irritating and bland. bc2 had better, more appealing menus imao.
The reason the hit detection seems off in BC2 is because of the recoil and bullet spray. COD has almost no recoil or bullet spray thus it seems that the hit detection is better. I've honestly not had a problem with hit detection in BC2. It may also seem like you have better hit detection in BF3 because you don't have to shoot as many bullets to kill someone. Truth is the detection marker is what the problem is. Sometimes it doesn't show up when you actually hit someone.
The most annoying thing to me is that with BF3, as much as I don't want to, I find myself caring more about my stats. In BC2, battlelog didn't exist so I didn't have as quick access, nor did anyone else. When you don't care about your stats, you can have a lot more fun.
I strongly prefer BFBC2. I play hardcore on both due to the heighten realism. I feel that one bullet should be enough in most cases because in real combat, thats all it takes. Hardcore in BC2 is far superior and I'm with you on the maps. I can't stand COD and I feel that BF3 is far too close to the COD franchise.
DICE will never go back to BC2. It's become very obvious that they hate to make games for consoles (this should have been obvious back with 1943). Bad Company 2 is fun and it felt that they put a lot of effort into the game. But the console versions of BF3 are watered down horribly from the PC version and is pretty much neglected when it comes to patches. A lot of the things PC players get, consoles don't and it fucks up so many things.
I feel like I was alot more skilled in BC2 than I am in BF3 I have got the hang of it now but it took time, personally I hate to say it but I had alot more fun on BC2 I didnt get nearly as frustrated on it as I do on BF3 but I doubt ill go back, although my play style suits BC2 better I reckon with time ill figure out the the correct way to play BF3.
@SirDiesAlot96 i think thats more likely not cause its a different game, but simply because more people are playing it and the the types of people playing it now are completely different to the regular battlefield crowd. whereas BC2 was only really bought by battlefield nuts cause if im rightly so, the retrospective COD was actually a good game back then. although i suppose as MW3 shows, sales aren't reflective on the quality of the game!
@Nomad2243 Score per minute is NOT an accurate depiction of your skill, because one player might be playing only SDM and the other only conquest on heavy metal.

I agree that they are evenly good but i think the problem with bf3 is the maps because although I love the idea of city maps, there are only city and desert type maps mainly. If they brought in more snow, jungle and even maybe a more wide scale city map then it would be much improved. Also the sniping in BC2 was better because 1 shot 1 kill was more frequent but now I have to keep firing twice just to get a kill even if it's a chest shot.
i never really owned bc2 but i really want it now. i preordered bf3 its a good game still but im pissed on how muchh they nerfed the recon class.my favourite class. im forced to play engineer cause im not rich enough to get a god like pc and play hardcore for my one shot one kill. no one in the world can survive a .50 cal shot. so why dont you make the usas just tickle me?
I like BF2, because it wasn't a FPS, it was a BATTLEFIELD, a true tactical war game. And I really don't like how BF3 turned out, it was more like Bad Company 3 :/ Not saying it was bad, I just wanted true Battlefield :P
i'm back to bfbc2 but god, so little servers, total of like 200 servers on all maps all gamemodes hardcore/softcore, many servers are emptyed after 2-3 rounds so u have to switch very often, and there are no squad deathmatch servers with 12+ in europe that i find, instead there are 10 with 5 players, the game needs to be revived

@xResourceHD I wish i had PC, you have no idea. Right now i just play on XBOX, which is'nt bad, except you can't find anyone anymore. At least not on the "hardcore" servers, i can't do the "core" mode, not a fan of the "dummy-dots" and the "dummy-system" in general. Hopefully soon i'll be getting a gaming PC.
I really hope DICE doesn't neglect bc2, another expansion pack or perhaps a new map pack would be great, just to give the game that extra bit of variety.
Very sad about Battlefield 3. My two friends and I bought it when the price dropped to $40 on GameFly, and after several days of frustration I went back to Bad Company. Winning or losing, that game always puts a smile on my face, and it's genuinely better and better-feeling that BF3 is. It takes skill to camp in BC2, while BF3 with its prone stance turned everyone into campers.
Bc2 was my first Battlefield game, it was my ground zero in Battlefield games. I'm never gonna stop playing bc2 just because BF3 came out. Each one of them have strongs and weaknesses. I'm used to bc2 but I think that BF3 as still a lot to give it came out just a few months ago so I wouldn't judge it just now. Bad company 2 is still around and it has been for a long time (and I hope that it continues on)
Well, I wasn't very good at bc2. I had a .8 k/d. That completely changed in bf3 though. Now it's a 2.4. However, bc2 gave me much more fun than bf3 does. Bf3 is a much easier game to be good at IMO.
why not have bfbc2 maps, they made bf3 maps for bf3. it would be quick and easy for dive to give us new bfbc2 maps for bf3. sure new maps would be nice but it would be easier and more realistic for dice to remake older maps like they did with the bf2 maps. i dont understand why you are so against having bfbc2 maps for bf3. i think it would be a ton of fun just to see how it plays and the nostalgia, talk about reminescing old times.
@Spearface100 P.S. As a PC player who has just not bothered to upgrade in a while, I feel as if Bad Company 2 translated the PC experience adequately to the consoles. Something about BF3 to me just says that they did not bother to finish the game, it is strange in the various ways it emulates CoD and fails to bring that "Battlefield" spirit to the console like BC2 did. I'm assuming that's because EA hyped it up so long in advance, there was not enough time to polish.
There different because Bad Company is a whole different series from the actual Battlefield games. It's not like comparing mw2 with mw3 it's more like comparing Mw3 with Black ops. [ except that there not made by the same people] Badcompany was a test series to see what was and wasn't good for Bf3.
Does anyone still play in Xbox? I would life to play but no one is ever in the server. Last time I tried there were two versus me. One knife kill and a headshot and they both rage quit. Pretty sad for such a great game. It deserves better.

BF3 was a huge let down for me. BFBC2 is hands down an overall better game to me. The maps are superior, and I actually think it looks better than BF3. The push for hyperrealism seems to have hurt the graphics.
I hope DICE puts out BFBC3 after the next MoH game, because when I pop in BF3, I just don't get that same feeling I used to get with BC2... not even close. I'm actually thinking about trading in BF3...
I miss a lot about BC2. Especially Vietnam. However, there are a few things I won't miss:
Base-raping/circle strafing helicopters.
Recons quick-scoping w/ M24s rape.
People using Extende View specs on tanks and firing at M-COMS at a distance.
I enjoy BF3 since they addressed those problems (add AA rocket launchers, suppression annoys quick-scopers, extended view is less effective). But I still cherish the memories on BC2...
I am a much better BFBC2 player than BF3 yet I have no desire to go back since BF3 came out. You are right, these are 2 different games but BF 3 takes all for me though I suck at it and I was pretty decent in BC2.
I hadn't really thought much about BC2 since BF3 came out, interesting video you have pointed at some issues i relate to. The chopper circle strafe problem in BC2 is not so bad in BF3 which is good, i love the ability to customise vehicles a lot more that's a good thing. I totally agree the guns are too overpowered in BC3.- however it's handy being able to go prone under fire. I love the suppression aspect of BF3. in BC2 i used to bombard a lot more with the tanks, the guided missile killed that
I think I probably overall prefer the killtimes of BC2. The 870 did feel more BOOM, shug, shug, BOOM... and I know it probably is best for the game but the full auto spread on the LMGs does frustrate me. I can completely understand it at longer ranges, but when they're about 2 metres away from you and none of them hit... o_O I do love both games though.
@fourthandonly Yeah I know what you mean BC2 was much different in how you could move and I like that feeling more and BC 2 had aggressive recon and the weapons felt much different from where in BF3 all the weapons feel the same and they do the same damage in the assault kit.
BF3 is by a LONGSHOT outright superior then BC2. It IS a better game in therms of graphics, controls and its got alot more variety and options to enhance gameplay and teamwork. After I played BF3, I tried playing BC2 again but I couldnt. I just kept seeing the same problems with that game, it felt alot more slugish, weapons had almost no recoil easy to kill just spray ( dontblink killed most of his guys firing from the hip, good luck with that on BF3). The vehicle gameplay is just ALOOOOT beter
The maps in BF3 suck both the back to karkand and the regular maps, their just too linear and theres usually only one way to approach an objective (rush or conquest).
@345stewma Yeah, i liked the maps a lot more in bc2, in bf3 you run for 15 minutes and then get shot by a sniper, that also happend in bc2 but wasn't as annoying :(. well about the campaign, bf3 was a little better, just better story but less funny. and didn't also like the fact that the things like: parachutes' mechanics were changed, and i liked the gun-play mechanics a lot better, in bf3 you get rewarded for pray-and-spray and you also die a lot faster.
i prefer bc2 over bf3 for a few reasons, first like u said its less reliant on vehicles but still keeps a good balance of them. second is that there are so much less crap players only playing for kills in bc2 and a lot more playing the freaking objective.
I prefer bf3 over bc2, bf3 maps are better than bc2 maps, i could never get into bc2, the destruction in bf3 is there, i love the feel of bf3, its my fav so far
the gun skill in bf3 is there, its just more damage, be quicker to kill the other person, its the same concept.....

I tried to get some games in on BFBC2 last night on the 360, I really miss it and was hoping for the best, however it seems on xbox there really aren't many players left. I had to play without a squad in half full games all night. I also thought the controls/sensitivity felt really clunky compaired to BF3
cause of idiot CG noobs, they ruin my chances of getting the gustav in BF3. It was so fast that it was my fave rocket launcher. I liked my chances with that rocket against helicopters and tanks, but never infantry, only when I run out of ammo. I hate CG noobs, yet I never met one.
WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT STUPID RATIOS!? Whether W/L or K/D, IT'S A FUCKING GAME! Anyways, I love BC2, but when I started playing BF3, I became too scared to go back to BC2 just because of the difference in gameplay. Prone vs. no prone, cartoony high jumps vs. real jumps, Cartoony running vs. nice running, Cartoony guns vs. Polished beautiful guns. I can't do it! Someone talk me out of this.
My only problem in BF3 is that the support class can give out ammo rather than a med pack like in BFBC2. And in BFBC2 I loved playing support any healing people and having an LMG but now on BF3 I am forced to use an assault rifle if I want to heal and revive people.
BC2 is far from perfect just as BF3 but it are some of the best FPS out there. My vote goes for BC2 cuz of the funfactor in that is much higher that in BF3

My quit % in BF3 is heavily due to getting fuckin stuck, then jumping up and down like damn rabbit trying to get over a curb, another bonehead proned out in the doorway, or into a window...then getting my ass shot off. Or trying to take cover and you get stuck on a shoebox, coke bottle, or damn used condom in the doorway...instant rage quit! Ha!
BF3 and BC2 are both kick ass games! I like them both! I would really hate to see you quit making BC2 videos in light of BF3 being out now and the newer of the two.
I love the unlocking system on BF3, the higher number of weapon unlocks, and the leveling system. That being said, the maps from BC2 feel superior to me. The jumping mechanics from BF3 make me rage, and I think I die more due to the scenery than enemy fire (getting stuck in an open doorway or failing to vault over the railing on the 5th time, only to be shot from behind; and then there's the fact your dude can't traverse a curb without having to jump over it)
Comparative: My 1996 Honda runs like a champ but my 2008 Subaru has cooler stuff. I drive both but there is one I drive more often. As far as Battlefield goes, who cares?! If you like Atari 2600, play that...don't force yourself to like a game because it gets you more views to get paid.
I like BF3 more than BF:BC2 just cause the "better" immersion while running around jumping and stuff. "Better" used very lightly. BF3 is not near what I would want it to be but it is exactly what I thought it would be. Having problems with the game and a player base more inclined to cheese, brings some anger some nights but in the end they will be more or less gone cause a "newer and better" bf has been released.
I like them both about equal. If they would fix the hit detection on BC2 I think that one would pry win in my mind. BF3 feels like they put in some Modern Warfare tricks and feelings which I don't like too much and I hate the shotguns on BF3 with Frag rounds. Very cheap in the close quarters. Also like the maps on BC2 more.
I know this is on the PC, and I wish that I had the opprotunity to play Bf 3 on something other than the ps3. as far as bf3 is concerned on the ps3, its broken. dice hasn't made any efforts to fix the major problems with Bf3.
I wasn't a fan of the damage in BF3 to start with but am getting used to, and really enjoying it now. You have to be MORE situationally aware for enemies close by in BF3...I think that's making me a better player. The guns feel less spammy at long range in BF3, and I definitely like that.
Blink, I'm glad you have finally come around and realize BC2 is just a better game than BF3. Aethyal has it right in saying just because you like BC2 doesn't mean you have to like BF3. I have given up in trying to make myself like BF3, it just isn't going to happen.
I agree, Rush in BC2 was better. There are more choke points in BF3 which means you are more reliant on teammates and since BF3 is designed with a little more of that CoD mindset you often get those d-bags that are just worried about themselves and not about helping out their teammates.
i agree i don't quite like the rush maps on bf3. i didn't play all the maps but i did play metro and caspian border rush and don't know if its because they integrated rush mode into conquest intended maps but it just don't feel as fun as rush mode in bc2. I loved rush on arica harbour as well as valaparraiso and isla innocente
don7blink if you want to become skilled at jets i recommend you bind your 'pitch up' to space key it'll make it easier as you don't have to constantly reposition your mouse. Jet flying takes time but once you get concepts and basic skills down its a fun experience
I like then both for different reasons; BF3 has much more fun melee combat compared to BC2. BC2 had such a CoD style knifing. There was no risk versus reward. It was just a panic button. In BF3, you have to hold out your knife, stalk your prey, then hope they don't turn around and fuck your shit up.
i agree with you i sort of like how you don't die as fast on bc2 than on bf3. I feel like in bc2 accuracy is rewarded more than bf3 as in bf3 usually whoever shoots first wins. However i really like many aspects of bf3 like vehicles, prone, and large maps. Plus bf3 looks beautiful and runs well even on my radeon hd 5570.
I loved BFBC2 and it was the first battlefield that really attracted my full attention, and with BF3 it was a different feel but i seem to like it more with the feel of the weapons, but i dont like Rush as much in BF3 as i did in BFBC2, in BF3 i play more conquest because of the vehicles and it can still be fast paced. BFBC2 i look back and kinda see how much better it is with more unlocks and more features, but BFBC2 will always be on my mind, and BF3 i think can be better, but BFBC2 is classic

went back to BC2 over the weekend. lasted all of 15 minutes. same old BS. quick scope snipe death, quick scope snipe death, then pump action slug death and I was done. don't miss it at all, now. there is some real crap going on in BF3, looking at you MAV-riding douches, but it's WAY better than BC2 was at the end and now.
Bf3 is dead fucking serious, and that's what I initially thought I wanted with a Battlefield game. Turns out I was wrong. Bad company 2 just felt more fun and even more immersive despite being on an older engine. I think DICE focused on the wrong things when they built Battlefield 3, important things like the core feel and dynamic of the game. Just my opinion
I personally like BC2 better. It has a fun factor. Battlefield 3 has is fun but you just don't have the options you have in other BF games. It forces you to do things. Example, playing Grand Bazaar Rush. The U.S side has to use the tank to win. It feels like your just forced to do so.
Don't get me wrong I still love BF3, just not as much as I expected.
I'm glad that they're so diffent that you can still play both and get a diffrent experiance aka BF3 is a true sequal. I think BF3 has way more WOW moments. Cheers to both games!
Now that I've adjusted to BF3 I love it, but when it 1st came out I was dissapointed. I knew it would be different, but not this different. (BC2 was my first BF game). Once I got past that, I started having a lot more fun. .

@hogbord It isn't about W/L ratio neither... I can join a game late or have douchebag teammates so if I get more losses than wins does that mean I suck? The only one that matters is overall score, It shows how long you have been playing and how many points you get during the game.
Why is it that people think W/L is an accurate representation of your skill? since when has Battlefield been a 1 man dance? it's about team work. 1 good player doesn't mean your team is going to win.
When i'm playing with a party and communicating I go on 10-20 game winning streaks. playing by myself with no communication (or call outs) I win 2 games for about every 1 loss.
win lose is more accurate to how good your team as a whole is you play with.
I personally think a High score per minute is a more accurate representation of your skill. You can't get a high one if your not playing the objective, camping back in your spawn, or not giving your team support with things such as revives, heals, and ammo supply's, spotting etc...
@Nomad2243 True in some cases - However, what if you're simply designated to provide suppressive fire? Sure you'll get the occasional assist etc, but that wont give you a high amount of SPM - but it sure as hell will help the team out? I don't know, it's a tricky subject :P

@d0n7bl1nk Battlefield 3's maps let me down. But the options you have available to score and get points is vast and it's much more diverse thatn BFBC2. BC is a shooter and BF3 is an action game if anyone understands that. To each his own. I will say that at this point in January 2012, BFBC2 is more playable and BF3 needs serious patching. Also it needs a few more maps. And also like you said, rush is better in BFBC2; it's a BC mode first and foremost anyway I think.
One thing that stood out to me going back to BC2 is that on consoles it is a terrible experience with lack of squad controls and server browser that I have come to love in BF3. But the gun play is better & more enjoyable...
you hit on on gun skill in bf3 its all about high rate of fire, the guy with higher rate is going to win. I hate that. the fact that there are no private servers, and VoIP for ps3; it is frustrating. i want to do clan battles. the pub rooms feel just like bc2. every once in a great while you'll get a good close game. DICE let serious players down with bf3.
@kasperjohnsson so true, but on principal i shouldn't inconvenienced based on my system. Unless dice doesn't care about me as a consumer. I will be playing on the pc, some day maybe i can get my controls down were i am good enough to do so. Playing on the pc, I have an issue fingering the commands in, movements i can do on console i cant do on the pc; it is frustrating. Plus the competitive community on PS3 is lacking. some very good teams, but it is limited.

weird i got bfbc2 when it came out and didnt really like it. mostly probably coz of the classes. medic with m60, assault with ammopacks and unlimited noob tubes, no jets(though i suck with jets but they massively contribute to the atmosphere), 1bodyshot snipers with artillery strike and c4.
mostly i like how the classes are set up in bf3. i have to agree on the vehicle aspect especially on conquest assault maps as defender if u lose the upper hand is feels like ur drowning in enemy vehicles
An idea for a bf3 dlc, Bfbc2 maps and weapons, that can be played like b2k, and also have a vietnam styled addition in that you get have a standalone expansion with bfbc2 weapons and they feel like bfbc2 and have the same damage output, so that its like a hd upgrade for bfbc2.
Idk. Try and think back when BC2 was as young as BF3 is right now and compare. The thing that keeps me playing BF is DICE will update their games to near perfection..
i mostly didnt like the controls for BC2, as in no strafe while sprinting and zooming is toggled.

You have a problem with hit detection in BFBC2? I've never had that problem, unless I'm using the G3, which is extremely inaccurate. Play on low ping dedicated servers, and hit detection should be fine.

I found many of the maps in bc2 more enjoyable. Atacama Desert, Arica Harbor, Oasis, Laguna Presa, Panama Canal... All great maps! I also think they looked less washed out, more colorful and the atmosphere in general felt right for me.
Another (maybe minor) thing I really don't understand in bf3, is why they had to make the menus so irritating and bland. bc2 had better, more appealing menus imao.

The reason the hit detection seems off in BC2 is because of the recoil and bullet spray. COD has almost no recoil or bullet spray thus it seems that the hit detection is better. I've honestly not had a problem with hit detection in BC2. It may also seem like you have better hit detection in BF3 because you don't have to shoot as many bullets to kill someone. Truth is the detection marker is what the problem is. Sometimes it doesn't show up when you actually hit someone.

The most annoying thing to me is that with BF3, as much as I don't want to, I find myself caring more about my stats. In BC2, battlelog didn't exist so I didn't have as quick access, nor did anyone else. When you don't care about your stats, you can have a lot more fun.

I strongly prefer BFBC2. I play hardcore on both due to the heighten realism. I feel that one bullet should be enough in most cases because in real combat, thats all it takes. Hardcore in BC2 is far superior and I'm with you on the maps. I can't stand COD and I feel that BF3 is far too close to the COD franchise.

DICE will never go back to BC2. It's become very obvious that they hate to make games for consoles (this should have been obvious back with 1943). Bad Company 2 is fun and it felt that they put a lot of effort into the game. But the console versions of BF3 are watered down horribly from the PC version and is pretty much neglected when it comes to patches. A lot of the things PC players get, consoles don't and it fucks up so many things.

I feel like I was alot more skilled in BC2 than I am in BF3 I have got the hang of it now but it took time, personally I hate to say it but I had alot more fun on BC2 I didnt get nearly as frustrated on it as I do on BF3 but I doubt ill go back, although my play style suits BC2 better I reckon with time ill figure out the the correct way to play BF3.

I agree that they are evenly good but i think the problem with bf3 is the maps because although I love the idea of city maps, there are only city and desert type maps mainly. If they brought in more snow, jungle and even maybe a more wide scale city map then it would be much improved. Also the sniping in BC2 was better because 1 shot 1 kill was more frequent but now I have to keep firing twice just to get a kill even if it's a chest shot.

i'm back to bfbc2 but god, so little servers, total of like 200 servers on all maps all gamemodes hardcore/softcore, many servers are emptyed after 2-3 rounds so u have to switch very often, and there are no squad deathmatch servers with 12+ in europe that i find, instead there are 10 with 5 players, the game needs to be revived

Very sad about Battlefield 3. My two friends and I bought it when the price dropped to $40 on GameFly, and after several days of frustration I went back to Bad Company. Winning or losing, that game always puts a smile on my face, and it's genuinely better and better-feeling that BF3 is. It takes skill to camp in BC2, while BF3 with its prone stance turned everyone into campers.

Bc2 was my first Battlefield game, it was my ground zero in Battlefield games. I'm never gonna stop playing bc2 just because BF3 came out. Each one of them have strongs and weaknesses. I'm used to bc2 but I think that BF3 as still a lot to give it came out just a few months ago so I wouldn't judge it just now. Bad company 2 is still around and it has been for a long time (and I hope that it continues on)

Well, I wasn't very good at bc2. I had a .8 k/d. That completely changed in bf3 though. Now it's a 2.4. However, bc2 gave me much more fun than bf3 does. Bf3 is a much easier game to be good at IMO.

why not have bfbc2 maps, they made bf3 maps for bf3. it would be quick and easy for dive to give us new bfbc2 maps for bf3. sure new maps would be nice but it would be easier and more realistic for dice to remake older maps like they did with the bf2 maps. i dont understand why you are so against having bfbc2 maps for bf3. i think it would be a ton of fun just to see how it plays and the nostalgia, talk about reminescing old times.

@Spearface100 P.S. As a PC player who has just not bothered to upgrade in a while, I feel as if Bad Company 2 translated the PC experience adequately to the consoles. Something about BF3 to me just says that they did not bother to finish the game, it is strange in the various ways it emulates CoD and fails to bring that "Battlefield" spirit to the console like BC2 did. I'm assuming that's because EA hyped it up so long in advance, there was not enough time to polish.

There different because Bad Company is a whole different series from the actual Battlefield games. It's not like comparing mw2 with mw3 it's more like comparing Mw3 with Black ops. [ except that there not made by the same people] Badcompany was a test series to see what was and wasn't good for Bf3.

BF3 was a huge let down for me. BFBC2 is hands down an overall better game to me. The maps are superior, and I actually think it looks better than BF3. The push for hyperrealism seems to have hurt the graphics.
I hope DICE puts out BFBC3 after the next MoH game, because when I pop in BF3, I just don't get that same feeling I used to get with BC2... not even close. I'm actually thinking about trading in BF3...

I miss a lot about BC2. Especially Vietnam. However, there are a few things I won't miss:
Base-raping/circle strafing helicopters.
Recons quick-scoping w/ M24s rape.
People using Extende View specs on tanks and firing at M-COMS at a distance.
I enjoy BF3 since they addressed those problems (add AA rocket launchers, suppression annoys quick-scopers, extended view is less effective). But I still cherish the memories on BC2...

I hadn't really thought much about BC2 since BF3 came out, interesting video you have pointed at some issues i relate to. The chopper circle strafe problem in BC2 is not so bad in BF3 which is good, i love the ability to customise vehicles a lot more that's a good thing. I totally agree the guns are too overpowered in BC3.- however it's handy being able to go prone under fire. I love the suppression aspect of BF3. in BC2 i used to bombard a lot more with the tanks, the guided missile killed that

I think I probably overall prefer the killtimes of BC2. The 870 did feel more BOOM, shug, shug, BOOM... and I know it probably is best for the game but the full auto spread on the LMGs does frustrate me. I can completely understand it at longer ranges, but when they're about 2 metres away from you and none of them hit... o_O I do love both games though.

BF3 is by a LONGSHOT outright superior then BC2. It IS a better game in therms of graphics, controls and its got alot more variety and options to enhance gameplay and teamwork. After I played BF3, I tried playing BC2 again but I couldnt. I just kept seeing the same problems with that game, it felt alot more slugish, weapons had almost no recoil easy to kill just spray ( dontblink killed most of his guys firing from the hip, good luck with that on BF3). @345stewma Yeah, i liked the maps a lot more in bc2, in bf3 you run for 15 minutes and then get shot by a sniper, that also happend in bc2 but wasn't as annoying :(. well about the campaign, bf3 was a little better, just better story but less funny. and didn't also like the fact that the things like: parachutes' mechanics were changed, and i liked the gun-play mechanics a lot better, in bf3 you get rewarded for pray-and-spray and you also die a lot faster.

My only problem in BF3 is that the support class can give out ammo rather than a med pack like in BFBC2. And in BFBC2 I loved playing support any healing people and having an LMG but now on BF3 I am forced to use an assault rifle if I want to heal and revive people.

I love the unlocking system on BF3, the higher number of weapon unlocks, and the leveling system. That being said, the maps from BC2 feel superior to me. The jumping mechanics from BF3 make me rage, and I think I die more due to the scenery than enemy fire (getting stuck in an open doorway or failing to vault over the railing on the 5th time, only to be shot from behind; and then there's the fact your dude can't traverse a curb without having to jump over it)

I like BF3 more than BF:BC2 just cause the "better" immersion while running around jumping and stuff. "Better" used very lightly. BF3 is not near what I would want it to be but it is exactly what I thought it would be. Having problems with the game and a player base more inclined to cheese, brings some anger some nights but in the end they will be more or less gone cause a "newer and better" bf has been released.

I wasn't a fan of the damage in BF3 to start with but am getting used to, and really enjoying it now. You have to be MORE situationally aware for enemies close by in BF3...I think that's making me a better player. The guns feel less spammy at long range in BF3, and I definitely like that.

I agree, Rush in BC2 was better. There are more choke points in BF3 which means you are more reliant on teammates and since BF3 is designed with a little more of that CoD mindset you often get those d-bags that are just worried about themselves and not about helping out their teammates.

I like then both for different reasons; BF3 has much more fun melee combat compared to BC2. BC2 had such a CoD style knifing. There was no risk versus reward. It was just a panic button. In BF3, you have to hold out your knife, stalk your prey, then hope they don't turn around and fuck your shit up.

i agree with you i sort of like how you don't die as fast on bc2 than on bf3. I feel like in bc2 accuracy is rewarded more than bf3 as in bf3 usually whoever shoots first wins. However i really like many aspects of bf3 like vehicles, prone, and large maps. Plus bf3 looks beautiful and runs well even on my radeon hd 5570.

I loved BFBC2 and it was the first battlefield that really attracted my full attention, and with BF3 it was a different feel but i seem to like it more with the feel of the weapons, but i dont like Rush as much in BF3 as i did in BFBC2, in BF3 i play more conquest because of the vehicles and it can still be fast paced. BFBC2 i look back and kinda see how much better it is with more unlocks and more features, but BFBC2 will always be on my mind, and BF3 i think can be better, but BFBC2 is classic

went back to BC2 over the weekend. lasted all of 15 minutes. same old BS. quick scope snipe death, quick scope snipe death, then pump action slug death and I was done. don't miss it at all, now. there is some real crap going on in BF3, looking at you MAV-riding douches, but it's WAY better than BC2 was at the end and now.

I got BC2 for PS3 and PC, and BF3 for PS3 and PC too.
BC2 on PS3 = awesome
BC2 on PC = shit in comparison
BF3 on PS3 = shit in comparison
BF3 on PC = awesome
I prefer BC2 on PS3 the most. Got the most fun out of it and no other shooter has pleased me more. The game is just perfect for me

Bf3 is dead fucking serious, and that's what I initially thought I wanted with a Battlefield game. Turns out I was wrong. Bad company 2 just felt more fun and even more immersive despite being on an older engine. I think DICE focused on the wrong things when they built Battlefield 3, important things like the core feel and dynamic of the game. Just my opinion

I personally like BC2 better. It has a fun factor. Battlefield 3 has is fun but you just don't have the options you have in other BF games. It forces you to do things. Example, playing Grand Bazaar Rush. The U.S side has to use the tank to win. It feels like your just forced to do so.
Don't get me wrong I still love BF3, just not as much as I expected.

I'm glad that they're so diffent that you can still play both and get a diffrent experiance aka BF3 is a true sequal. I think BF3 has way more WOW moments. Cheers to both games!

Now that I've adjusted to BF3 I love it, but when it 1st came out I was dissapointed. I knew it would be different, but not this different. (BC2 was my first BF game). Once I got past that, I started having a lot more fun. .

@hogbord It isn't about W/L ratio neither... I can join a game late or have douchebag teammates so if I get more losses than wins does that mean I suck? The only one that matters is overall score, It shows how long you have been playing and how many points you get during the game.

Why is it that people think W/L is an accurate representation of your skill? since when has Battlefield been a 1 man dance? it's about team work. 1 good player doesn't mean your team is going to win.
When i'm playing with a party and communicating I go on 10-20 game winning streaks. playing by myself with no communication (or call outs) I win 2 games for about every 1 loss.
win lose is more accurate to how good your team as a whole is you play with.

I personally think a High score per minute is a more accurate representation of your skill. You can't get a high one if your not playing the objective, camping back in your spawn, or not giving your team support with things such as revives, heals, and ammo supply's, spotting etc...

@Nomad2243 True in some cases - However, what if you're simply designated to provide suppressive fire? Sure you'll get the occasional assist etc, but that wont give you a high amount of SPM - but it sure as hell will help the team out? I don't know, it's a tricky subject :P

@d0n7bl1nk Battlefield 3's maps let me down. But the options you have available to score and get points is vast and it's much more diverse thatn BFBC2. BC is a shooter and BF3 is an action game if anyone understands that. To each his own. I will say that at this point in January 2012, BFBC2 is more playable and BF3 needs serious patching. Also it needs a few more maps. And also like you said, rush is better in BFBC2; it's a BC mode first and foremost anyway I think.

One thing that stood out to me going back to BC2 is that on consoles it is a terrible experience with lack of squad controls and server browser that I have come to love in BF3. But the gun play is better & more enjoyable...

you hit on on gun skill in bf3 its all about high rate of fire, the guy with higher rate is going to win. I hate that. the fact that there are no private servers, and VoIP for ps3; it is frustrating. i want to do clan battles. the pub rooms feel just like bc2. every once in a great while you'll get a good close game. DICE let serious players down with bf3.

@kasperjohnsson so true, but on principal i shouldn't inconvenienced based on my system. Unless dice doesn't care about me as a consumer. I will be playing on the pc, some day maybe i can get my controls down were i am good enough to do so. Playing on the pc, I have an issue fingering the commands in, movements i can do on console i cant do on the pc; it is frustrating. Plus the competitive community on PS3 is lacking. some very good teams, but it is limited.

weird i got bfbc2 when it came out and didnt really like it. mostly probably coz of the classes. medic with m60, assault with ammopacks and unlimited noob tubes, no jets(though i suck with jets but they massively contribute to the atmosphere), 1bodyshot snipers with artillery strike and c4.
mostly i like how the classes are set up in bf3. i have to agree on the vehicle aspect especially on conquest assault maps as defender if u lose the upper hand is feels like ur drowning in enemy vehicles

An idea for a bf3 dlc, Bfbc2 maps and weapons, that can be played like b2k, and also have a vietnam styled addition in that you get have a standalone expansion with bfbc2 weapons and they feel like bfbc2 and have the same damage output, so that its like a hd upgrade for bfbc2.

Idk. Try and think back when BC2 was as young as BF3 is right now and compare. The thing that keeps me playing BF is DICE will update their games to near perfection..
