Fisichella does tend to sing ahead of the beat - but that's the only fault/peculiarity I can find with his instrument or what he does with it. What ravishing tone, dramatic conviction and intelligence and what a top! He was one of, if not the very greatest tenors of his entire generation.

I dont understand why this counrty has ignored so many great true lyric tenors like Fisichella, we tend to anyways go for the bigger voices and darker sounds when in actuality it is a voice like this that these works were intended for...bravo maestro e un onore sentir sua bella voce

@vocetenor who has this country ignored, in favor of whom in your opinion? ramon vargas for example is very famous here and he has a lyric voice practically just like fisichella and there are lots of others. fisichella tended to be off alot i think and rushes music like he does here so the singing frequently feels awkward. maybe thats why, not the voice. his voice is good but overall he leaves room to be desired.

Figuriamoci oggi se si può parlare di belcanto :) ... ti attaccano addirittura, e pensare che ci sono insegnanti che continuano a credere e, ciò che è peggio, a far credere agli allievi che lo insegnano! Da pazzi! l'Italia di oggi perde valori uno dopo l'altro, ma questo che ha perduto lascerà un segno indelebile per sempre.

Ascoltate Fernando De lucia, Caruso, Gigli, Luisa Tetrazzini, Adelina Patti.. giusto per togliere un po di cerume dalle orecchie

p.s I had the luck and privilege of having lessons with Maestro Fisichella, and at 68 his voice sounds as great as ever, which would definitely not be the case if he were a "strangler"...

Bellini and Donizetti non e pesato come Verdi, la voce deviene pesante in Ella mi fu rapita, Parmi veder es bassa e alta, per un tenore Lirico come Alfredo e Manrico.

il problema è che c'è ancora gente che canta così e anche meglio, ma i mafiosi che gravitano attorno ai teatri non li lasciano cantare! E' solo una questione di soldi e di letti, la voce non conta più nulla

amico il problema è che se il convento passa intepreti mediocri ci si adatta a un must medio basso in cui il fraseggio,la voce e la presenza scenica dei cantanti diventa un parametro senza valore.

é falso ciò che dici, non è vero che c'è gente che canta così.. e come canta Fisichella non è nemmeno ortodosso, ma volendolo prendere come esempio non esistono attualmente tenori che cantano così. Non perchè non hanno le voci, ma perchè manca la scuola, la vecchia scuola, quella antica italiana, quella che VALEVA davvero. Naturalmente la mafia ed i favoritismi sono sempre alle porte, ma non diamo la colpa a questo.

Lo diceva già Rossini al suo tempo che il belcanto era già morto.
